After a deadly fire rips through St. James Church, Hadleigh University leaders use the tragedy to push the congregation off campus, forcing the church to defend its rights and bringing together estranged brothers for a reunion that opens old wounds and forces them to address the issues that pulled them apart. Review: good movie - good movie Review: Wonderful family movie that leaves you Happy!!! - This movies was a little obvious at times but made up for it with cleverness. There were good points made from both sides of the argument. The back and forth of the debating was great. Kevin Sorbo hit is out of the park with this series!! There are about 5 of these out with each one being great and leaving the watcher with a little more positive attitude!! if you want a positive great evening, This Ones for You!!

A wonderful complement to the Series of "God's Not Dead" movies
I saw the ratings were low, and I have no place to criticize their opinions. Each of us get a different take when watching a film. The technical aspects were excellent. The acting superb. I saw this film as showing the emotional struggles we each face daily for what ever we feel the need to be human and reach out and express our thoughts, some good and some bad. This movie can remind us that as we grow in God, He in turn is helping us grow. Remember back to a past movie when the good reverend felt adrift in his church duties and wanted to be in the trenches?! Be careful in what you wish for. This movie shows the struggle in one circumstance and then brings you back to God's point of view. How even with the tragic loss of life God used it for good. Humanity seems to like to go kicking and screaming until it dawns on us the way we should go. God is love and peace. Excellent film. I'll be enjoying this one as the crowning achievement of this series. Thank you God for taking the log from my eye.

Relevant for today
I liked the transparency of the characters. The pastor did things he regretted but found a way to admit he was wrong and make the hard decision to do what he believed was consistent with his faith though he had to turn his back on a possible court win. Keaton, the college co-ed that was doubting her faith, was asking questions a lot of former church youth ask in a secular school environment. The pastor being willing to "lose face" brought unity to the school and community. Pastor Dave made a great point that it was not really about preserving the church as much as it was about the people involved, the students he was addressing that were holding signs--pro and con, the university president, the young man who threw the brick and all the bystanders. Seeing faith and love in action is a lot more important than the justice of who was right and wrong. Good flick!

Do not fight evil with evil, but fight evil with good.
Spoiler alert! Did Jesus mean every word he said? Even the stuff we dont like or understand? The first two films portrayed christians as a poor minority mocked and persecuted by the world. The enemies in those films were almost cartoonishly portrayed as militant God hating powerful abusers of position and authority out for christian blood. This film gives the antagonist their humanity back and teaches some much needed and neglegted ideas unique to the teachings of Jesus. The first and most prominent one being the doctrine of enemy love. Jesus taught we should love our enemies. He did this not only in word, but in his example. We (followers) were Jesus's enemies, and he not only forgave us, but took our punishment on himself. Pastor Dave struggles with this idea. His best friend gets killed, the church building he grew up in was burned down, local powers are trying to take away all he has and all he can think to do is fight back, to demand justice. The concept of "non-resistance to evil" is also portrayed. No matter how hard pastor Dave fights back the situation keeps escalating. In the battle Dave damages old friendships, agitates more hostility, and creates in the community a view of the church not as a victim, but as an intolerant institution of hate. But as soon as Pastor Dave recognizes his actions were not all in accord with christ, he ask the community to forgive him, seeks reconciliation with damaged relationships, and invites the community to unite under the banner of love. He drops his law suet, works out a compomise with the antagonist, defends his friends murderer and as a result portrayes a jesus the community had not seen before, one of forgivness, mercy, and love. In the paradoxicalness of Jesus teachings we realize that to win we must surrender. Do not fight evil with evil, but fight evil with good.

More realistic.
After watching this film, I read up the reviews and I'm disappointed. Disappointed by the fact people don't seem to understand what was happening 'in the background'. The Pastor couldn't hear God anymore cause he was listening to others. As soon as he re-opened himself to LISTEN TO GOD, God basically told him to let go of the building. What people are FAILING TO UNDERSTAND is that the church isn't a place. The church is the congregation. Our brothers and sisters in Christ. God already had a plan in place. He wanted him to establish a new church in a different location. It's also a lesson about letting go of the past. Too many people these days are screaming and shouting, all about the past. What has already occurred. God doesn't want us dwelling there. Living in the past, prevents us from moving forward. We have to LEARN from the past in order to take the right steps forward. As for the girl. She was struggling with doubt. Everyone hits a point where they do that. I don't know a single believer who hasn't. Her boyfriend, at first, was trying to pull her away from God, when she was his tether TO God. He made a huge mistake that resulted in an accidental death. God knew it, He wasn't going to prevent it. He also knew it was going to eat away at the boys soul, his heart, and his mind. He was scared to confess because he feared a backlash, that no church has any right to give. He did the right thing in confessing. The Pastor, in turn, made a huge mistake in lashing out. He's human. We all are. In the end, the girl was brought back to Christ THROUGH the hardship and struggle and her boyfriend probably accepted Christ as his Savior. I LOVED this movie equally as the first two. God wants us to shut up and listen. Quit trying to put YOUR voice above His.

Great Movie for People Who Have Real Questions About Their Faith
This is an excellent movie. There are some fantastic story lines that are developed with great care. The acting is phenomenal. I think that this is one of the best Christian movies that I've ever seen. Well worth a watch and also a purchase. A huge thanks to all of the people involved with this project.

So Glad I Ignored The Bad Reviews!
I watched the first two movies in this series, and as a new Christian I liked them, but put off watching this movie because of so many people giving it a bad review. Today I just decided to rent it because why not, it's only a few bucks, and the movie was amazing! People seem to have missed the point of the movie, and so they give it bad reviews, but even as a new Christian I see the parallels between the sacrifices Jesus made, and the moral of this movie. Jesus had an opportunity to fight or run, but he chose instead to make the ultimate sacrifice. Without giving too much away, that is the moral of the movie. It's not about giving up, or being cowardly. It's about knowing when to fight, and when not to. It's about knowing when a sacrifice will get a lot more done than a battle. Give the movie a chance, you won't regret it.

Surprising!
The God’s not Dead series isn’t going to win any Oscars, but it has to be said it’s immensely fun! This third film is surprisingly heavy hitting, with some emotional parts. There are a lot of deep issues touched on, including the complexity of sibling stresses, how leaders struggle too, bereavement and how we can disagree well. Worth a watch!
