Great replacement keys - Cut and programmed perfectly
I bought these keys as a replacement set for a 2005 Honda Accord - These keys can be programmed out of the box to Unlock/Lock the doors and trunk. However, you have to get them cut and programmed at a locksmith or Honda dealer to enable them to start the car. I checked a local locksmith and they wanted $100 each to cut and program! I checked with the nearest Honda dealer and they quoted me $95 for one or more keys (up to 3) as long as all keys were present at the time of cutting and programming. These keys were cut and able to be programmed (some keys on Amazon/e-Bay are not able to be programmed). These worked out great! Thanks for selling a quality product.

Updated Review-Works just like OEM
Review Updated: I originally wrote a review that these do not have the transponder and I was wrong. I originally took these to get a locksmith to cut the key. I asked him to cut the key and I would program it with my xTool. He checked the key and told me there was no transponder and he could only program the key fob, He showed me the original Honda key fob that had a small box holding the transponder and opening this one he did not see one and his machine did not detect a transponder. He then offered to sell me one of his Honda keys with key fob for $200. Something smelled fishy, Well fast forward 6 months and my original keyfob breaks, So I decided to use my xTool to see if what the locksmith told me was true, Well the xTool was able to program the key fob and also the transponder, The transponder is not in a box like the original key but there is a transponder in the inner key fob case, The security key light showed red before i programmed the key and would not start the car, It took about 5 minutes with the xTool and both the key fob buttons work and the key starts the car. The only problem I am having is getting the key cut on the second key fob, The dealer, Ace, and locksmith do not want to cut the key unless I buy it from them. The dealer wants $400, Ace Hardware was over $200 for key fob and programming and locksmith was $95 to cut key and $200 for key fob with programming,

No-go on 2005 Accord
Local Honda dealership cut and programmed these keys. They start the car and manually unlock the doors, but the remote functions don't work. They tried for over an hour. The original key works fine. So now I'm kind of stuck. I can return the keys and get my $18 back, but lose the $95 charge from the dealership; or I can keep this marginally useful junk for emergencies. Well played, KeylessOption. Even with Amazon's return policy, either way I lose. Never again. Should the seller wish to send me specific instructions on how to program these things and/or new electronic guts for them, I'll consider modifying this review.

Excellent and economical choice for new key fobs
This is a great choice! I have a key fob for another car from this company that has worked great for the past four years. This one is for my 2004 Honda LX Accord. I went to the Batteries Plus Bulbs store in the next town over. It only cost $10 per key to have them cut. So I made sure both keys worked in my door lock before heading home. At home I took apart one of my old key fobs and took out the "chip". I had to use a blade and pry it out of the plastic housing. This damages that old key fob, it does not matter because it didn't work anyways. Now take apart the new key fob. The blank chip will come out easily (there is no housing for the chip in the new key fob). Put the old chip in the new key fob. Now you can enter with the key and start your car engine at this point . To get the key fob to open/lock the doors you need to do a few simple steps to program it: You have 5 seconds to complete each step. If you take longer than 5 seconds you will need to restart the entire process. You can attempt this process as many times as necessary to complete the entire process. So, enter the car and close all the doors. 1) Turn the ignition to the ON position (II) (If you look closely at your ignition, you will see the II symbol) 2) Press the lock button on the remote you are programming 3) Turn the ignition to the OFF position (I) REPEAT THE ABOVE STEPS THREE TIMES 5) Turn the ignition to the ON position (II) 6) Press the lock button. At this time you will hear the door locks cycle (faint clicking sound) confirming that the car has entered the programming mode. 7) Press the lock button again. The door locks will cycle again confirming that the vehicle has programmed the remote. 8) Turn the ignition to the OFF position (I). The directions I followed said that if you have more remotes to program, just follow step 7 within 10 seconds. This did not work for me, so I just started from the beginning with my second remote. If you have additional remotes, you will need to follow these steps for ALL of them.

One key could not be programmed
Not sure why but one of the two keys could not be programmed correctly. One seems to work fine. Numerous Honda techs worked on second but it will only unlock doors and will not start the car.

May or may not work…
These may or may not work on your car. I bought a set a few years ago that worked great; this most recent purchase did not. I had to use OEM Honda receivers.

great key!!
My situation was alittle different than most I would say, I bought this key when my other key fob case shattered. I paid 10$ to have Honda cut the key and I programmed the remote myself after watching a youtube video (simple). Once I had gotten the key cut and the remote programmed, you THEN need to program the Transponder inside the key ( its a small chip), I however just decided to CAREFULLY swap the transponder out with the one from my old broken key ( you can find how to do this on youtube) all together I had a perfectly working key for roughly 22$ compared to the 150$ the dealer wanted. When you get this Key cut, at first it will get alittle stuck in the ignition, (because its freshly cut) to fix this issue I went to the rear of the car and just literally kept inserting the key into the truck locks (incase it got stuck) after about 5 minutes of continual insertion into the lock the key had worn itself enough to work perfectly fine in the ignition. all in all, worth it. had it for about a week now and not one issue

Works.... Sorta.
Got the keys cut and the ignition chip programmed. So car starts and can unlock the door and trunk by inserting the key into the door. None of the buttons work though, thus the 3 star rating. Would change it to 5 if a solution could be found to make the keys fully functional.

Il n'y a pas de puce donc j'ai récupéré celle de la vieille Clés 2005 Honda Accord Complete keys with functional remote control and easy to program with the car. There's a small card with an internet link for programming with your car. My locksmith was able to cut it. There's no chip, so I used the one from the old key.

Two 2003 Honda Accord Keys
Price was fair, checked in US and with current CAD exchange, it was pretty close. Items came in mail in a week. Took to a Locksmith, paid $100 CAD to get the keys cut and programed. It took about 20 minutes. Worked fine and looks same as original key minus the little Honda emblem on the back.

Generally good but the panic button isn't recessed
Generally good but the panic button isn't recessed like the original so I keep setting it off when it's in my pocket.
