ProtoArc EK01 Plus Backlit Bluetooth Ergonomic Keyboard, White Silver

This keyboard is a delight to use. I wasn't sure if I would be happy with this type of keyboard as I am a fast touch-typist (over 100 wpm) and had read that the type of keys like this keyboard uses weren't that good for fast typing. But I've found exactly the opposite to be true. I'm actually typing faster now on this keyboard! The ergonomic design is perfect for maintaining a healthy posture for your wrists while typing. I like the cushioned palm rest, it really takes the fatigue out of typing for long periods of time. It's a full-size keyboard as well, which is great as I use all of the function and additional keys every day. I like the quietness of the 'clickiness' of the keys. Not overly loud, just a nice responsive sound as I type. The backlighting is truly a plus! I've never had a keyboard with backlighting before and now I wonder how I ever got along with it! Especially for typing in dimly lit areas or at night. It's really versatile as well. It has three ways to connect devices, one WiFi which requires use of the provided dongle, and two Bluetooth connections. I've set mine up to use one Bluetooth for my PC and the other one for my Android phone. I also have the Wifi connector enabled for my PC as a backup. UPDATE: About two months after purchasing, I had some problems with intermittent repeating keys. It didn't happen very often, but often enough that it became annoying to me. The keyboard comes with a two-year factory warranty, so I contacted Protoarc directly. They were so kind and understanding. They helped me troubleshoot the problem and when those steps failed to resolve the issue, they then offered to replace the keyboard free of charge, which I did. Within a week my new keyboard arrived, and it's been rock solid with no repeating keys. I was really impressed with their assistance and quick action to resolve this for me. I highly recommend the Protoarck EK01 Plus keyboard.

This is my first venture into using a split keys keyboard. I have taken a different job that requires me to type a significant amount of my day. I quickly developed a repetitive motion problem with my left picky from using the shift and CTRL keys to capitalize and copy paste. Using an ergonomic keyboard has changed the location of those keys so I didn't have to strain that finger to type. Additionally, the new position of my hands makes typing a good part of the day much easier on my hands and body. What makes this ergonomic keyboard stand out? The keys near the center remain near standard size. The space in the middle is allowed to naturally be there. The rest of the keyboard layout is similar to all the other 101 key keyboards so you do not have to adapt to a different key placement of special function keys. The media controls are in the space between the keys. I didn't have much of an opinion either way until I started using them to control the volume on the podcasts I listen to. The placement keeps me from having to find the correct controls on the function keys, It is back lit. I am not a trained touch typist and find myself looking at the keys fairly often to reset my fingers on the keys. It is rechargeable. I charge it at the end of the week and have not had a problem with it dying during my work week. If it did all you need to do is connect it to a USB C charging cable and it gets a full charge in about the same time as it does tour cell phone. You can use it while it is charging. The feel is great the keys have a good resistance and a comfortable travel distance when you push them. You might even find yourself pressing a little less. Maybe the most surprising thing is the heft of the unit itself. It weighs a significant amount. Much more than my Logitech I replaced it with. The advantage of this is it stays in place on my desk . I don't feel it sliding as I type. This is a problem, as I do have a lot of hand movement when I type, and I do not find myself having to reposition the keyboard before homing my fingers. When you type it feels solid on every key press. It has the ability to connect to multiple Bluetooth devices and still use the receiver provided to communicate with another without having to do anything beside pick the device on the orange keys. The wrist rest is padded and is something I didn't have on any other keyboard before this one. It definitely adds to the overall comfort of the unit.

I work for a lawyer and needless to say, I need a reliable and easy-to-use keyboard. Boy, was I surprised when I started using it. My wrists are 10000000% supported and my fingers fly across the keys without my nails catching. Another reason I love it is the keys have a satisfying feel and is quiet. I can hear the keys clicking but it no way loud. I have been using the keyboard for a while now and shocked that I have only charged it once. I do shut it off at the end of each day so that might help it too. I was so impressed with this keyboard that I bought a second one for my home computer. The price is more than fair and I loved that I could pick my own color. I very much recommend this keyboard!!!! UPDATED REVIEW 09/09/2025: It has been almost 2 months since my first review and I still have not needed to charge this kick*** keyboard! I use it 5 days a week and at least 8 hours or more a day. It is truly amazing how long a single charge lasts!!! I absolutely love everything about it. I hope they keep making these forever!!!! UPDATED REVIEW 11/11/2025: It has been 9 months since I purchased this keyboard and I just now had to charge it FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! It is truly incredible how long it lasts before needing to charge. As I said before, I love this keyboard!!!!!

I purchased this keyboard because I wanted an ergonomic wireless option that would support daily use. Unfortunately, this has been a repeated disappointment. The first keyboard I received had Bluetooth issues and had to be replaced. I gave the brand another chance because I liked the layout and wanted the product to work. Now, with the replacement keyboard, the keys are falling off. That is unacceptable for a keyboard that is supposed to be used regularly. At this point, this is not a one time defect. I have had two separate problems with the same model: first connectivity failure, now physical key failure. A keyboard should not need replacement support for basic Bluetooth function and then start losing keys after that. Those are not small inconveniences. Those are core functions. The design may look good, and the layout may be comfortable, but reliability matters more. I should not have to chase replacement parts, contact support again, or troubleshoot a product that has already failed me twice. I would not purchase this keyboard again, and I would not recommend it to anyone who needs a dependable daily work keyboard. It has been more trouble than it is worth.

UPDATED REVIEW: 4/21/2026 - I've knocked my rating down from a 5 star to 4 star and here's why - I've had this keyboard about a year now. The battery life has significantly dwindled and recharging it take about 24 hours. The charge lasts about a week or so before the battery needs recharging again. Despite this flaw, I still love this keyboard. I just hope I won't need to replace it often because they aren't cheap. UPDATED REVIEW: 5/19/25 - I've had this keyboard for a month now and I am so pleased with it. I functions perfectly, love the way the keys sound (not too loud but people know my fingers are flying), the backlighting is so nice in a darker office, which is how I prefer it. I hate fluorescent lighting so never turn the overhead lights on. I have naturally long nails that I spend a nice coin on to keep looking professionally manicured and the keys on this keyboard seem to be customized for just that purpose - long or short fingernails, your fingers won't slip off the keys. I think that's probably really important for some of the ladies reading these reviews. I've owned and used a myriad of wireless keyboards. This one tops them all. I will only ever buy and use ProtoArc. And no, this is not a paid ad. This is a genuine review. I paid for my keyboard myself. First and foremost, I’m a keyboard snob. Truly. I’ve been a paralegal for nearly 20 years and spend my whole day in front of a computer. Prior to that I worked in medical billing again spending my whole day on a computer. You could say I’ve spent my career typing. As such, I am VERY particular when it comes to keyboards. When I find one I really like, I hold onto to it until its demise. By then, that model has usually been replaced by something else. I was reluctant to try this keyboard. I’ve hesitated buying anything new for more than a year eking out the last bit of life from my old one. I’ve read many, many reviews about many, many ergonomic keyboards. I originally purchased an ergonomic Lenovo Go but you had to buy the number pad separately and it just was a hassle to not have an integrated number pad. The keyboard itself was nice but had its quirks. I found myself searching again and coming back to this keyboard. After reading reviews from people who didn’t receive the item in exchange for their review, I felt confident that I should at least give it a go. I am glad I did. This is just my initial assessment but the keys are smooth strokes, the ergonomic alignment is perfection, and the leather wrist pad allows for smooth transition while moving across the board while typing. This keyboard has the feel of a super high end piece of technology. If you are hesitant I understand your reluctance. But I would highly suggest you try it out. Beautiful & Highly Recommended So far I love this keyboard. It came packaged very nicely, very secure and included a quick start guide, a instruction manual, a lovely thank you card, the wire to charge it and a silicone cover. It was incredibly easy to connect to my pc both with the USB receiver and Bluetooth. The typing is very smooth and quiet, no sticking keys at all. I love the brightness of the backlight and how it has 3 settings. If you are not used to a split key ergonomic keyboard, it will be a little difficult at first and feel awkward, but you will adjust. They are also larger than traditional keyboards, so make sure you measure and account for that. Overall, I love it, it was purchased when it was on lightning deal so I got a great price for a quality keyboard. The only thing I wasn't totally thrilled with was the height when tilted, but my keyboard I am replacing was a little higher than normal. It isn't an issue that would keep me from buying it again. I have seen others that only have tilt legs that elevate the wrist rest; those were promptly returned.

I really love this keyboard! The size is great. The battery life seems to do really well. I love that it is a rechargeable so that you aren't having to replace batteries themselves. The keyboard is really nice and responsive. It charges up pretty quickly and you can also run it while it is charging so that makes it really easy to use as well. No more having to worry about if it dies and then you have to wait to use your keyboard or plug in a different keyboard. Nope none of that with this one It charges while you are using it. The other thing that I really love is the fact that the bottom has adjustable legs for the back and the front so you can get the perfect angle so that you don't have to hurt your wrists. The split keys I really like. I've never had a split keyboard before. I did have the Logitech wave and I've used that keyboard forever and I love that ergonomic keyboard so I was a little unsure of whether or not I would like this keyboard but it's honestly I think even better than the wave. I love the backlit keys even though I kind of wish that they had different RGB colors to make it a little bit more cool The backlight is really nice. It would just up the cool factor a little bit if they made the backlit lights change colors and fun stuff like that. It is really hard to find an ergonomic keyboard that has really cool changing lights and different stuff like that. I would say definitely get this keyboard it's going to save your wrists and you definitely don't want to have carpal tunnel surgeries like I have so be proactive now because it really sucks going through those surgeries. So at this point I am just trying to keep things ergonomics so that I don't have to go through more surgeries again.

This was a great keyboard at first. One of the switches was not connected quite right at the factory, which became a progressive problem over the first few months I had it. Tech support was great. They sent me a video on how to lift and reattach the key without damaging it and the problem was fixed. After a few more months, I noticed that I was getting repeat letters randomly as I typed. At first, this happened when the battery got low, so I started charging it on Sundays so it was ready for the work week. It continued, so I blamed the bluetooth, and started using the dongle instead. But as time goes on, this is becoming a more and more regular problem, even with the keyboard plugged in and while using the dongle. It has gotten to the point that I will have to replace it with something else, because I can't have that kind of unreliability with my keyboard. There are a lot of things to love about this keyboard, but sadly I think it is better for lighter duty than I have it doing. If you use your computer a couple of hours a day tops, it should be great, but I have a long history of wearing out keyboards, typing 40-50 hours a week and for that purpose, it has unfortunately not held up the way I had hoped.

Perfect in everything! Ergonomic in every way you want it to be! The backlit is very helpful to me.

I've been using this ergonomic keyboard for about a month now, and it's a pretty solid choice if you're looking to improve your typing comfort. The split design is definitely a step up from my old flat keyboard, and the wrist support has made a noticeable difference in how my hands feel at the end of long workdays. The keys themselves are low-profile and quiet, which I really appreciate. They have a nice, light touch that makes typing feel smooth and effortless. The media controls are conveniently placed in the middle of the keyboard, and they work well for adjusting volume and skipping tracks without taking my hands off the keys. However, there are a couple of things to note. First, the keyboard is quite wide, which might be an issue if you have smaller hands or limited desk space. I found myself occasionally hitting the wrong keys or not pressing them hard enough, especially when I first started using it. It took me a little while to get used to the wider key spacing after being used to a narrower keyboard. Another minor quirk is that some keys sometimes register as double-taps, which can be annoying when you're in the middle of typing a document. This hasn't been a major issue for me, but it's something to keep in mind if you rely heavily on precise key inputs. Overall, this keyboard has improved my typing experience and comfort level, but it might take some adjustment if you're used to a more traditional layout. If you have larger hands or are willing to adapt, it’s definitely worth considering.

This a large, full sized keyboard made slightly bigger by its split, ergonomic design and built-in armrest. It is rechargeable with a built in battery and connects to your device wirelessly by either using its included USB dongle or by Bluetooth. The keyboard charges via USB-C (charging cable is included) on it’s top edge and has an indicator light that switches from red to green when full. The keyboard has a comfortable padded armrest which is built in and cannot be removed. The power switch is found on the rear of the unit. Also on the backside is a storage space for the included USB dongle where it is held in place magnetically. You have 4 feet on the rear that you can swing out so you can angle either the front or rear edge of the keyboard upwards. There are rubber pads on the back surface as well as on all the flip out feet. I connected this keyboard to an iPad using Bluetooth which was effortless. You can connect it to 2 Bluetooth devices as well as a USB device and easily swap between them using the yellow connection keys on the keyboard. What’s great is that most of the function key shortcuts work great and are automatically recognized by the iPad….cmd, brightness, media controls, home, select all, cut, paste, search, screenshot, task bar, etc. It adds a ton of convenience. The keys are low profile and quiet but have a satisfying amount of tactile feedback to them. The keyboard backlighting is great when using it in darker environments. The keys light up evenly and the light both surrounds the buttons and lights through the letters/symbols. There is a button on the keyboard that lets you toggle the lighting between, lo, med, hi, and off. The most unique quality of this keyboard is obviously its ergonomic shape and it doesn't disappoint here either. Your hand position instantly feels natural and comfortable when resting on the keyboard and its armrest. The contours of the keyboard naturally follow your hand and finger position. This design obviously requires somewhat proper typing technique. If you typically are a “pecker” that bounces your fingers across the keyboard and crosses sides you wont see as much benefit from this shape, but if you are familiar with the keys and can type without a lot of hand movement this design is a fantastic upgrade. This is a well built keyboard with a lot of attention to detail and great features. I really cant think of much negative to say about it. It’s an easy 5 star recommendation.
