Excellent value, flawless performance for well over a year and no signs of quitting.
Excellent value, had this for well over a year and it still keeps perfect time, still water resistant. No worries about having to change batteries. Owned a fancy expensive (battery) watch once and the dept. store repair intentionally sabotaged the watch in the hopes I would purchase another from them. Yeah, good luck with that, lost my business forever. This is the 21st century, cell phones are the new time pieces, but solar is totally reliable and Timex makes it happen. Holds a charge for many months, although I prop it in a bright window for a few days every few months or so just to make sure the cells are always fully charged, although it's probably unnecessary, just being over cautious. I haven't actually experienced this watch ever running out of power even after months of use. Damn impressive, as it should be.

Stout, Simple, Tough
It’s not the flashiest working man’s watch, but it’s a solid choice. It’s comfortable, tells time accurately, takes abuse and still works and looks good, and the solar-powered feature is kinda cool. The case is a composite material and resists damage to both the finish and crystal. To add, the crystal is inset enough into the bezel that edge chipping and scratches aren’t much of a concern. It’s a tad thick overall, but that doesn’t bother me. It can catch on stuff when reaching into tight spaces. Once in a while the crown will kick out stopping timekeeping, but that is rare. The OEM single piece strap isn’t the greatest but it’s sturdy and comfortable, though the metal loops and buckle will get paint dings exposing the metal underneath. More importantly, it cleans up and dries quickly. I get messy throughout the day, so that is a plus. It’s very lightweight, which for me took some getting used to, but I have no serious complaints. If you need a rugged watch, check this one out. I hope it lasts for years.

Solar Charging does not work when wearing long sleeve shirts!
I hate remembering to wind a watch and dislike having to replace batteries. I was thinking about buying an Echo-Drive watch but didn't like the price tag for those solar watches. So, when I saw a Timex solar watch that looks great, I jumped on it to try it out. Here are my thoughts (see video): PROS: 1) Looks great. 2) Since it is a quartz movement it keeps time really accurately. 3) The crystal is not the most scratch resistant, but it is inset below the case to help protect it from damage. 4) It is not super thick, so it does not grab on your shirt sleeve. 5) For a Solar powered watch, it is priced very well. Now you sacrifice a few things, but it is a lot of watch for the dollars. CONS: 1) If you live in a cold climate where you always wear long sleeves, the solar recharge is not going to work. About every 20 days I look at my watch and it is not on time. Then I have to spend a day without my watch leaving the watch under a bright light to recharge. So, I love the concept, but the reality is not living up to my expectations! 2) There is no low battery warning or way to track the amount of charge that is left. 3) The crown does not screw down. So, if it snags on clothing, you might accidently pull it out and get your date and time messed up. 4) I know nylon straps are popular, but I don't like them. They look tacky and the end starts to fray after a while making them look really tacky! A band option would be nice at purchase. 5) The glow in the dark hands is worthless. They do not put off enough light to tell the time in the dark. Even after being under a bright light for a while the hands glow fades super-fast. CONCLUSION: If you wear short sleeve shirts, or you are able to leave your watch at night under a light, this is a very good watch for the money. You don't get a sapphire crystal, a screw down crown, or a strap selection, but you get a solid performing time piece that looks great after you change the band. RATING SYSTEM: I review a lot of products because I know reading other people’s reviews is very helpful in selecting the right product. I saw a reviewer that gave a rating scale, and I thought, "that is useful". When one is reviewing from underwear to air compressors having a way to tell you why I rate is important. Here is my rating scale: 5 Stars: Excellent product, I highly recommend this product for anyone. 4 Stars: Good product, but there are some quality, functionality, or design issues, but will still work well. 3 Stars: Okay product, it will work for some people but not all people. It works but not great. 2 Stars: Is not very functional. It might work in a very specialized situation, but don't count on it. 1 Star: Trash. I can't see any useful purpose for the product.

Great Size and Value. Very Lightweight.
Admittedly, I'm a watch snob. My daily driver is a Tag Heuer Aquaracer. This Timex was a purchase while my regular watch is in the shop. I'm impressed re: size and value. Obviously, it's much, much lighter than my all-metal Tag. Fresh out of the box and traveling with this Timex over the next week. So far, it fits the bill just right! Solar is awesome... no winding!

DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH
Awful!! Within two months the watch stopped working! This is my second one and the same thing happened! Its over priced and cheaply made!! Do not buy this watch!!! It's not even worth one star!! I noticed they raised the price on this garbage. They shouldn't even be selling it!!

Budget Seiko Prospex this is not
Bought this as a cheap work watch, but I guess all the budget went into the solar technology. No date adjust feature, gotta crank the crown over and over to adjust the date. (Also no screw-down crown, but that's expected at this price) Fake diver bezel. Lol why? Cringe as heck. Should of just put a compass bezel on there instead tbh. Cheap plastic crystal, scratches and mars just by looking at it. Okay NATO strap. Falls apart quickly, but it's easily replaceable with a better quality one. Decent lume on the hands, but none on the hour markers even though it looks like there is. Looks cool.

Inexpensive doesn’t mean cheap.
After 10 months, zero complaints. Well, I got rid of the horrible NATO strap 🙄. That’s a personal preference. Easy to swap out to whatever you like. Keeps accurate time meaning it’s the same time. I’m not micro analyzing it and the seconds gained/lost. It has a confident look and feel and makes you feel good when wearing it. Sure it’s not high priced but it’s not cheap. Very comfortable, light and not unincumbered. If this is what you’re looking at, you’d be satisfied. Great looking, durable and simple watch. Full confidence.
