Inexpensive tools for lathe
Looking for an inexpensive set to start with ...these are the ones! One .007 shim and off we went. The cutters are made to HOG material off yet preformed great! I am very happy with this set!

Buyer beware
Problem list. Hole to mount carbide does not line up with insert, too far back. The carbide does not sit flat against holder. Front has 0.002" gap under carbide. This occurs on all four cutters and is worse on the boring bar. When turned sideways no light should be seen between carbide and holder. You can measure with a feeler gauge. This gap can cause the carbide to snap in half. And vibrate etc. Also unusual was that the insert box is unlabeled. Now this was my personal experience with the one I ordered. But I hope others will check their purchases first thing for anomalies.

Brittle tools...
while these cutters may look shiny and sharp, they are quite brittle, shattering with the lightest cut on the softest of mild steel. It may work for plastic but that's not why I buy carbide.

Affordable
I have sharpened my own HSS bits for years. I have used insert type only occasionally because of cost. My operation is a home shop so affordability is important. These are, so far, a great deal. Really leave a nice finish.

Good beginner set of carbide insert lathe tools.
I am a hobbyist machinist and not a professional. In the past I have used high speed steel and carbide tools. This is my first set of insert tools. The set is a medium grade and all the parts fit well. The holders are machined out of good steel but have a few rough spots. The inserts fit well and tightened down securely with the supplied screws and wrenches. There are spare inserts that can be used after the others get dull. Being double ended they can be rotated once to use both edges. I used the boring bar and insert to enlarge a hole in a bushing. It cut better than my old tools and left a smooth finish. The carbide cutters are a standard size and can be replaced easily from online suppliers. There are many different insert kits for sale so it is hard to make a direct price comparison but these seem competitively priced. Overall good quality at a reasonable price. I would order them again.

Buenas las barras
Las barras sin muy buenas, pero los insertos son de baja calidad. Deberรญan de adjuntar unos insertos coherentes con las barras que sรญ son de buena calidad.

Well made, EPIC VALUE
These lathe cutters are SHOCKINGLY cheap. The holders themselves seem to be well made, and they work great on my lathe. My only complaint is that the edge break on the insert pocket is a bit rough - someone had too heavy of a hand on the grinding wheel at the factory. This doesn't really affect the performance of the cutter though, so long as you aren't pushing it way too hard. I'm not running production quantities of stuff on my lathe at the moment, so I can't give hard numbers on the longjevity of the inserts... but they are carbide, and they cut hard steel just fine. Consider, a kennametal or sandvik would cost over $100 PER HOLDER plus around $20-30 EACH insert! It's pretty hard to argue with the value proposition here! I've done a lot of work that is many thousands of dollars of material per part; I would probably stick to tried and true brands for that work... but anything else? Why pay 10x the cost to make widgets? I received this set for free, but immediately purchased more, after I tried them out. It's GREAT.

Perfect for my hobby projects
I got these for low speed turning of styrene plastic for hobby projects. So far I've only tried turning a few things but I see these will be great for my purposes. Since these are designed to cut metal, I'll probably never wear a single blade. With 4 handles and 10 blades, I probably have a lifetime supply.

Nice set of carbide indexable turning tools
This is a nice set of carbide indexable turning tools. They are well made and they did perform very well turning steel parts on my metal lathe. They really are 12mm tools, 1/2" is only an approximation.
