Living near LA with constant wildfire smoke from the 2025 fires, I was desperate for a solution that could both purify and humidify my home. Within just 4–5 hours of setting up Blueair’s 2-in-1 Purify + Humidify, I noticed a dramatic improvement: no more dry throats, irritated noses, or itchy skin. The YouTube instructions made installation a breeze, and I love how easy it is to refill the water from the top — this system really churns through water and keeps the air perfectly moisturized. Despite its compact size, it packs a serious punch. I placed it at the top of our stairs, and it quickly restored comfort to our entire living area—something I never expected, given the intense smoke outside. I’m beyond impressed with how swiftly it refreshed our air and relieved our symptoms. It truly performs as advertised and has become an essential part of our daily routine.

The humidifier doesn’t work properly. The humidity sensor is not accurate and jumps as soon as it starts. On top of that it stopped working after less than a month of use

My initial impression is mostly positive. The user manual is confusing, but gets more understandable as you use the machine. We are using the system primarily for humidification, as we already use filters with high rated MERVs in our HVAC to remove allergens and other particulates, and we run the HVAC unit fan all night to circulate the air. The water capacity seems low (3+ qt) for such a large unit and requires multiple fillings over several days when you are trying to go from a very dry humidity (e.g., low to mid-20s%) to a more comfortable one (e.g., low 40s%), especially where you have central forced air heating in a larger space. In our case, it took three days to get from about 23% to 42% uniformly in a 1400 sf condo, where we run the HVAC fan all night. We needed to refill the water tank about 3x per day. That obviously slowed as we approached the desired humidity target. Other positives include the app is easy to use on my Android phone. The unit gets very quiet in operation after initially filling the tank with water. (It is important to turn off the entire unit or at least the Humidification control when filling/refilling the water tank. Otherwise you get loud water gurgling that lasts for a very long time.) I wish the unit monitored the water level more continuously than just empty/full. It would make planning for refilling the tank much easier. I was also pleased that the packaging used molded cardboard rather than Styrofoam. Indeed, except for the plastic around the filters and the plastic bag around the main unit, there was little non-recyclable waste (although the filters themselves are not recyclable, but they do last a long time). The exterior of the unit is attractive and well designed. It is easy to access the filters and water tank. The ability to fill the water tank through the top of the unit is especially convenient. The 3 year extended warranty is a nice feature. It shows that the manufacturer has confidence in the product. I haven’t yet done the weekly maintenance on the filters and water tank, but it seems straightforward. We have very hard water (>20g/g), so it will be interesting to see how well the unit does with limescale. We use an electronic deionizer (not a water softener), which otherwise generally makes any mineral deposits easy to remove from surfaces. So, overall, so far so good. I’ll give it four stars for now and see where we are by the end of the heating season.

I read a lot of reviews and watched videos of people who owned this looking for the right product and decided this was the 2 in 1 for us. We have a large apartment so I bought two. I’m very happy with the results which were immediately noticeable. Love the app.

I really like what Blueair is trying to do here. A combined air purifier and humidifier with a modern design, top-fill system, and app control sounds like the perfect all-in-one solution. In practice, it doesn’t quite deliver at the level you’d expect for the price. The real deal breaker for me is the humidifier performance. When I place this in a bedroom, it doesn’t make it through the night without needing a refill. That’s a basic expectation for something positioned as a premium unit, and it falls short there. It feels like the “3-in-1” design may be spreading itself too thin. The top-fill design is convenient and looks great & pouring water in from the top is easy and clean. But actually knowing how full the tank is isn’t. There’s a small window near the bottom, but it’s not very practical when you’re filling from the top. A clear, visible indicator up top would have made this much better. The app experience is also a bit confusing. For something marketed as a whole-home smart device, it seems like only one user can really control it at a time. That doesn’t make much sense in a shared household and limits the usefulness of the smart features. On the positive side, the build quality is solid and the design is clean and modern. As an air purifier, it seems to do its job well. But as a combined unit, it doesn’t fully replace having dedicated devices. Overall, I like the idea more than the execution. It works, but for the price, I expected a more complete and refined experience.

Update. After using this for several months I didn’t realize that this machine was leaking from the bottom into my wood floor so I didn’t see the leak until it went through the ceiling on the floor below. Unacceptable and I do not recommend. Zero stars Overall good device however it has some drawbacks. Yes, it is easy to fill with the top pour however, the ability to know when it is full is lacking. There is a small window at the bottom of the unit with no line indicating if the tank is full. So you have to get down on the floor and watch for the level in this little window. A light is supposed to blink on the panel when it’s 95 percent full but this seldomly works. The tank is small and I find myself having to fill it around twice a day. This is not ideal as I had a Dyson humidifier that had a larger tank and lasted several days. Overall this is a quality device but if I were to do it over again I would have went with something else. The main draw for me in this selection is that it clearly states you can use tap water. The Dyson I had was destroyed by using tap water so we will see how this goes.

We’ve had it about a month now. It’s easy to set up, have had no issues running it, the app is easy to use, quick refill process. It’s only really loud when it’s mad at us while cooking or such. Otherwise we don’t notice it. Nice peace of mind knowing it’s doing its thing keeping our house clean.

We have multiple blueairs and seeing that they had a humidifier combo got us excited. We need one for our baby room soon. I'm a little surprised with how quickly the water is used up (edit) but there is an option to adjust humidity target - still surprising how quickly it uses up the water. Its also not as quiet as we had hoped. It's got a tiny whirring noise that just adds some white noise, but given their other products I was surprised to find that little problem.
