I must say, this is a great budget phone. It looks nice, is light and feels good in the hand. I got it for my wife and she's very happy with it, coming from a Pixel 7a. For her fairly basic usage, it works great and the battery life is excellent. At the price point, we don't have to worry about screen cracks or water damage any more. For a phone like this at a price like this, it's a no brainer.

This was a cheaper phone but excellent for simple tasks. It replaced a phone which had been in use for at least 8 years. I gave it to my husband as a present to take the place of the old device to which he was devoted. He is now absolutely thrilled with this Samsung. It works well and he says the photos are excellent.

I bought this phone as a budget day to day phone because it was a good price (£102), and although I knew it is an old model, it is a well-built phone with a fantastic display. I knew that my everyday use didn’t justify spending more on more premium devices, as I have a laptop and audio systems for more serious purposes. Reviews I read praised the long battery life, and I have found this to be accurate - with my usual (admittedly lightish) use, it lasts well over 2 days on a charge and would probably last longer. I was also attracted to the future-proof software support, which should take it well beyond 2030. The display is really good, and compares very well with my wife’s much more expensive i phone, although the cameras aren’t as good, but unsurprisingly at this price and good enough for most things unless you are some sort of photographer or want 4k video, and you probably would have something better to use anyway. The most obvious area where it is possible to see budget cutting is that there are no stereo speakers, just a single speaker. However, I always use blue tooth speakers or headphones to listen to anything that requires decent audio, so again this isn’t a problem either. If you’re after a long-lasting device with years of updates, and you only want normal day to day browsing and communication, with a great display and a fantastic price, this is an excellent phone. If you want better performance for gaming or heavy media use, you should spend more for higher spec, but as an everyday phone that does the basics very well and has a great battery performance as well, this is a good choice. So far I have been impressed.

I am amazed at how SAMSUNG has managed to optimize this mobile phone to run so smoothly on 4GB of ram. In everyday use apps, it feels as snappy as my 12GB RAM Oneplus. Do not worry about it only having 4GB of ram as SAMSUNG have done wonders here. Updated to UI 8.5 and Android 16 and feels smooth opening apps and doing various everyday tasks. It also looks a lot more expensive than it actually was ( Paid £78.13 in June 2026 for it on a PRIME deal and included SAMSUNG official 25 watt charger and a SAMSUNG official card slot case ). At this price I cannot fault it. When you get it uninstall all the bloatware like Netflix and silly installed games and go into settings and remove silly things like SAMSUNG internet and other SAMSUNG stuff that you simply dont need and change permissions for other things to off and turn off privacy data being sent back to them. Well done to SAMSUNG with its optimization - incredible really. On checking RAM use it was showing that is was using around 2.8GB of the 4GB ram so there is space there for everyday tasks. The speaker is nice and loud and although mono has a good sound to it when playing music or using it as a telephone and loud speaker. Finger print sensor on side button works well. OS Upgrades: 6 generations of Android and One UI upgrades (launching with Android 14, planned up to Android 20).Security Updates: 6 years of regular maintenance patches. Support End Date: Support is scheduled to last until October 2030.

Bought it to replace my outdated Galaxy A20s Does everything you'd expect from a phone of this calibre. Great value, great phone.

I love this phone. I needed a 2nd device with a better battery for playing mobile games and some other tasks. I was originally looking into tablets but I couldn't find anything that I like in my budget. My partner has the A15 version and I kind of liked it so I decided that I will get one of them instead. Strangely enough the A15 was more expensive than the newer version A16 so I went for it. I wasn't really happy in the beginning cause I wanted a tablet and when I ordered it, it said that it'll come in 3 days despite having Prime and it was my first time using Amazon. I ordered it during Prime day and the fun part was the next day (last day) was 14£ off. Anyways, it arrived day earlier than it said and all in all it was great. Now about the phone. Overall it's a great one depending what you want and expect from it. For what I personally wanted it - it's perfect. The phone comes only with charging cable (USB C to USB C). Sadly there is no adaptor in the box, so you need to have one already. Also it does not support wireless charging. You can buy an extension for that but I am not sure how it works. However, the phone came pre charged (50%) and it took an hour to fully charge with the the provided cable and a 3rd party adaptor. The battery lasts for a long time - I play on it all day and it basically didn't dropped under 40% and when I leave it on over night it drops only 1% so it should last at least 2 days. The phone itself is big (too big if you ask me for every day use) and is a bit heavy but is stable. It looks pretty well though but the back and the front catches very easily fingerprints so you need to have a case and screen protector for it or be prepared to clean it constantly (which I do). I didn't included pictures but it looks exactly like the picture in the listing. It does not have an earphone jack so you can only use it with wireless\Bluetooth headphones or buds. I didn't tested the sound quality of it but the A15 is great (for a budget phone) so I am pretty sure it's good. The screen is very good and clear. The colours are bit blue at the beginning but you can adjust how warm and vivid you want them to be in the options. Also the bezels are not too big but they are noticeable especially around the selfie camera but you can get used to it. Speaking of cameras it comes with 3 in the back and 1 on the front. Didn't tested them that much but they are good for this type of phone. It was very easy to setup and start using it. A lot of reviews are mentioning that the phone is slow, but to be fair I didn't notice that at all. For me it works pretty fast. However, I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy S8 (which I still love and use) and I am starting to enjoy the A16 quite a lot. I bet so that if you come from the latest models you can think differently about it but for its price it's a gem. It also has a fingerprint scanner and you can unlock your phone like that which I found as a nifty upgrade from my previous one. How I mentioned, I play all day on it and use other apps and till now it's been doing more than fine - we'll see how long will be that though. So if you need a pretty good phone (depending on your needs) for a good price don't hesitate. I don't think you'll find better from an established company than it.

A great phone for a great price. I got this phone for my sister, whose Galaxy A13 is 99% full. Hence the upgrade.

Have only hsd this phone a short time but so far pleased with it. Clear screen and has all the apps I need. No problems at moment. Affordable good phone for me.

Great cellphone works very nicely and is very fast only issue is warranty is not for South Africa but for UK and Samsung doesn't assist with it.
