Great product,works as described

This is an easy to use digital recorder with very good sound quality. I use this product mostly to record music jam sessions with musician friends. Then, later on, I download the best takes to my laptop for YouTube video generation. This recorder creates .aac files which are not useable for video creation using the Microsoft Movie Maker software I own therefore I had to purchase a conversion software to generate .mp4 files. .aac files offer better sound quality than .mp4 files but are not universally accepted. Other than is small inconvenience and the so so instruction booklet, I highly recommend this recorder.

Very nice recorder with lots of storage and a decent battery life. It is Easy to use and to get my recordings on to my computer. The sound is good. If you are buying this for the transcription.... dont! The transcription is so, so, so bad. It is unusable.

I got this for work, we communicate very critical information over radio and I wanted this as a 'black box' to cover my you know what in a 'he said, she said' situation. A friend had an older one from Walmart that didn't have a memory card but I liked the small size so I looked up the brand and found one but it wouldn't be delivered until March 8th...that's unacceptable, so I came to Amazon as I usually do anyway, and found this which is WAAAAAAY better for just a little more, and much quicker delivery (though it did come a day late). I love the touchscreen, it came with a 128gb memory card and charging cable, was completely dead on arrival but charged up quickly enough to turn it on and set it up. Full charge took about two hours. It has every function you can think of and some you didn't know you wanted or needed. The quality is great, both build quality as well as recording quality. I did buy the protective case that was recommended as a 'bundle' which is also really nice. You can use the screen only (except you need to use the physical record button or the side slide/power button to wake it up) for all functions, or you can use the physical buttons for 'old school' appeal and feel. Highly recommend. It's worth the price.

I was really hoping this recorder would work well, but it didn’t quite meet my expectations. The device is much smaller than I thought, and I found it hard to use. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get it to work properly, and I wasn’t able to return it either. I wish the product description had been clearer about the size and how it operates. It might work for someone else, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

On a ten-point scale: Design: 10 points Functionality: 3 Price: 4 Would I buy it knowing all the pros and cons? Yes! Pros: Comfortable and pleasant to use. The microphone is more suited for close-range recording, but the sound quality is realistic. Bluetooth. A good selection of recording quality settings. Detailed menu. Ability to create folders. Delayed recording mode with auto shut-off. Option to disable the recording indicator light. Cons: No firmware updates available. Playback speed adjustment exists but doesn’t work. No language selection. The T-marker is inconvenient: it's easy to set, but switching it with a button is impossible, only through the menu. A password is required every time you log in, which applies to the entire device rather than specific functions, making it inconvenient to use. Cannot be used as an audio player, except for the WAV mode. Despite having a touchscreen, there’s no option to trim audio. The Type-C port is for data transfer only; you cannot connect a microphone. The different memory capacities offered by the seller refer only to the flash drive capacity. Bluetooth works only with headphones, not with the microphone.

It sounded very well… it recorded small whispers . I would recommend to anyone who wants to buy.

If you want to get slightly better AI transcriptions, then use the highest .wav setting and the 'Lecture' mode. That said, my numerous experiments with this machine have not yet led me to figure out how the transcriptions might be editted, although I suspect that I will eventually discover they are saved as .txt files that can be editted after download. My overall early impression of the machine is that it produces surprisingly good audio output, and has numerous possible audio uses; including live music demo recordings, poetry and recordings from the natural world. Oh, and good old-fashioned dictation. It is quite a heavy, but compact unit worth a fairly intuitive GUI and adequate usage notes and brief online tips. The weight indicates to me that the speaker and mono/stereo microphones are of reasonable construction quality. Attractive overall design with a colourful touch screen GUI. Also, ordinary operation buttons. I look forward to doing something creative with this unit, but it is a fairly sophisticated gadget; which means that there is quite a lot to learn about it in the longer term. Perhaps not ideal for absolute audio beginners, but there is a simpler recording shortcut, using the REC button if you are in a hurry to capture interesting voices and sounds. The headphone jack is fine, but the output to my Bluetooth amplifier was superb. I have still got a few things to learn about USB data transfer and the SD card. USB charging from solar panels is extremely quick.
