9" Fixed Blade Hunting Knife with Sheath, 14C28N Full Tang, G10 Handle Outdoor Knife for Survival, Camping, Hiking(Black)

I am a knife fanatic and have been collecting them for 55 years. My collection now numbers well over 300. I own many brands made in many countries and I have to say Mossy Oak is definitely a favorite now. Mossy Oak, a well known clothing and outdoor gear manufacturer, just flat out produces outstanding knifes for the money. This knife is no exception. Despite so many knives to choose from, this knife is now my EDC. First off is the appearance. This is a good looking knife! The fit and finish are perfect. I wouldn't change a thing if I were the design engineer. Now to the performance...The listed manufacturer specs are dead on when measured with Starrett digital micrometers and calipers. The G-10 grips have a shape and size that leads to a firm grip even with greasy hands. (I wear XL or XXL gloves depending on the brand) The blade jimping is very aggressive and works great. When holding a knife my primary concern is how secure is the grip? This knife passes with flying colors. The blade of this knife is 4mm thick Swedish 14C28N. Developed by Sandvik (who has merged with the outstanding Austrian steel manufacturer Bohler) 14C28N is renowned for its toughness. It is also a hard steel and so excels in wear resistance and edge retention. Despite its hardness it is easy to sharpen. The coating on this blade is uniform and is holding up well during testing. The blade was pretty darn sharp right out of the box and only took a few minutes to make razor sharp. The leather sheath is one of my favorite things about Mossy Oak knives. They are well made from nice leather, the stitching is tight, error free, and color matched. The logo stamped into the leather looks good. This knife reminds me of the larger sized Old Timer Sharp Finger, an all time favorite. This knife is an improvement in every way though and gets the grumpy old guy seal of approval!

Become one of my favorite EDC's overnight. Steel is fabulous for the price.14c28n. nice to see mossy oak brand using this great quality steel. Blade is good and tough holds an edge great, and is fairly easy to resharpen.

I really like this nice but not so happy with the sheath. It's not easy to insert the knife into it without some minor fuss. Also th snap broke after hardly any use.

This is an exceptionally great knife, full tang good fit and finish. Sheath is also well made. I've bought knives of much higher price without it's value. Best money's spent.

Mossy Oak is a nice find and a wonderful surprise. Nice and sharp OTB, easy to handle fits my hand good. I've purchased a few more of their knives are I'm not disappointed.

Very cool knives

Great blade with nice balance. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable. Non slip grip even when damp. The blade holds an edge really well. Great for hunting, multipurpose blade.
