Great starter kit. I needed an option to start my new hobby. This was perfect.

Decent little kit. Rivets are too short

I bought this kit after I had a knife that had a leather sheath that I wanted to carry hiking and felt the leather didn't offer the security of holding the knife while hiking. Overall I am happy with the kit. The sheets seem durable. There were no noticeable marks on the sheets. I formed the sheath using a heat gun it took me a few attempts to get the sheath formed nicely. The rivets worked as well I was worried as some said they were too short. I had an issue where they were too short if I got too close the a curve of where the sheath formed around the knife. As long as I spaced them on the flats and the two sheets were tight together the rivets worked perfectly fine for me. I feel this kit should allow me to make a few knife sheaths and for the money that is a bargain.

I won a custom fixed blade knife at an auction and needed a sheath for it, I found a local kydex holster maker but he wasn't interested in making a knife sheath do I made it myself! With no experience and no special tools. This kit has all the materials you need to make a holster or a sheath except a belt clip or soft loops,whichever you prefer to use you will need to purchase separately. The kydex is a little thicker than I expected but works well just needs a little more time in the oven. The reason for the 3 stars is because the kydex does NOT have a smooth side like it should. Yea, one side is slightly less textured than the other but its still not right. One side of kydex should be completely smooth.... All you will really need to complete your project is a drill and a 1/4” bit, a razor knife and a hammer.

Made my first kydex sheath for my daughter with this. Any complaints I might have would be more to do with me than the product. There was one tool inside that I wasn’t sure what it was for. I assumed it was just a hole punch and used it as such….that broke, but I have a drill so it wasn’t a big deal. The setter and eyelets set just fine. The sheet formed around the knife really well too. My daughter loves it. She had lost her leather sheath I had made for her and was wanting another.
