Excellent, clean action movie

* Synopsis On the face of it, these two people are managing their working lives. The woman is a legal secretary Helen Tasker (Jamie Lee Curtis). The man is a computer sales rep, Harry Tasker (Arnold Schwarzenegger). The twist is that the husband is a highly skilled government political investigator who can speak several languages and is authorised to use lethal force when necessary. On a same old, same old day, the legal secretary believes she is drawn into a spy situation by a person who is in reality a car salesman (Bill Paxton) who just wants to get her into bed. The real spy, her husband, is trying to work in real espionage to stop a terrorist of a group, the 'Crimson Jehad' led by Abu Aziz (Art Malik). But the clash between the secretary who wants to be in a spy setting, but is being sold lies by the car salesman. And the computer salesman, while he is in reality the real spy, is to be explained. * Commentary The film style is very glossy. An espionage comedy cross. It makes investigating political extremists seem alluring. It 'out-bonds', James Bond. This film was made after Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Terminator 2' hit. Both are directed by James Cameron. It's before the Titanic juggernaut was to be worked on. The two actors worked well together. The terrorist is well played by Art Mallik. Jamie Lee Curtis had clearly trained physically very hard and for a long time to develop the athletic body physique shown in this movie. The female protagonist, an expert in Middle Eastern antiquities (Tia Carrere), does a job that requires her character, Juno Skinner, to be willing to accept huge amounts of money to destroy what she studied to protect. The film is clearly at the edge of the political story design for its time. The idea that the nuclear bomb is more likely to be from a terrorist fanatic group rather than a country, for example. The fight choreography by the cast - except for the cat fight in the limousine between the characters Juno Skinner and Helen Tasker - is very well done.

Great 4K transfer of this classic film. Def worth upgrading from Bluray in my opinion!

Lets get this out the way first. Like some, I too have seen the reports and opinions on picture quality of this is 4k release. I was concerned until I started watching it. For the most part it is excellent. Like the Terminator 2 release the picture quality at times can look very soft. To the point where peoples faces look a little waxy. However, its in no way as distracting as the T2 one (or the infamous Predator - Ultimate Hunter Edition). The close ups of peoples faces are full of detail and it generally looks quite good in my opinion. The colour grading is generally quite nice and SOME grain in retained in some scenes. So it's not been completely DNR'd, which is nice. The film it self though, it's a classic in my eyes. Balls to the wall spy/espionage thriller with a lot of dark humour spliced in through out and it works excellently. Brilliant set pieces, excellent action, great music and at its heart, a husband and wife story. There's a few extras over on the standard Blu-ray; the newest being a look back on the film from a few of the cast members and James Cameron himself. It really shows at how the way films used to be made that they were willing to take so many risks to make something special. This is big budget Hollywood action spectacle at its finest. As the saying goes, they don't make them this anymore and that is absolutely true in this case. Films should be made like this again, do everything you can in camera, for real. Its part of what makes them stand the test of time. I'm sure by now you've already seen this film many times over the years, so you probably just wanted to know how the film looks in terms of quality. I'd personally recommend it. There are a few issues here and there but its definitely worth getting. Even more so if you love this film.

This film is hilarious, seen it a few times but decided to buy it as it’s one of those films you can watch over again, really funny.

have it on dvd, been waiting for it to come on 4K Ultra HD, great picture and sound.
