DEWALT 20V MAX XR POWERPACK 8.0 Ah Power Tool Battery (DCB2108)

I did not ***need*** this battery, but am I going to say "no" to 8 Ah of XR power goodness? I love DeWalt batteries in general -- I have several, some of which are probably at least 10 years old, and in my experience they are basically unkillable. I got this battery primarily for powering the cordless circular saw I (finally) got -- a saw will drain a 2 or 4 Ah battery pretty quickly, with any kind of heavier use. The one "con" so far is that the battery is a Reel Big Boi, for sure -- significantly larger than a standard 5 Ah battery, for example. You probably don't want this hanging off your drill, driver, or palm sander, unless absolutely necessary. But that's fine as I have the "normal" sized batteries for those applications.

OEM Dewalt batteries can't be beat, especially the Powerpack and Powerstack series. I was a little apprehensive about making the order because there are so many counterfeits out there, but this is an OEM battery, and the 8 Amp Hour batteries are great for a full day of runtime on my Dewalt circular saw, and I usually get 6-7 hours on the high setting on my Dewalt job site fan. The package arrived earlier than promised and that's another plus - a solid buy.

The 8ah power pack works very well for my 6-1/2” XR circular saw as well as my 5” angle grinder. Lots of power and plenty of runtime. Highly recommend for high demand tools in the DeWalt 20v system

A true Dewalt battery that runs and runs. Very happy with the product. Don't buy the useless "generic" batteries! Remember, you get what you pay for!

GOOD NEWS!!! This is an updated review on my delivered order last week. I received 2 different batteries, one 8ah power stack and one regular dewalt 8ah battery. Unfortunately I had no choice but to give a 1 star review considering that wasn’t what I paid for. I wanted to give an updated review, the customer service was excellent! Before I even had a chance to send the regular 8ah battery back, the company had one on its way 💯. The package arrived the same day I was returning the other. I understand things happen, this why I wanted to change my review once I seen how the company handled this situation. This is an excellent supplier, great cost, and responsive. I would highly recommend this company and these Dewalt batteries. They pack a punch!!! Great value for your money compared to the big box stores. These are genuine Dewalt batteries. The run time is by far better than the basic battery. Don’t waste your money at the big box stores, grab these up at the reasonable price they are while they last. I bought this for my DeWalt weed eater and it last a very long time ! Don't be fooled by bogus battery's that says Dewalt. I got took by bogus battery's before, check Dewalt website to see. I thought it might be heavy but when put into my weed eater it is balanced well and not heavy. All my tools are Dewalt and their customer service is excellent !

I was expecting this to be closer to the 4Ah pack size, but it's not much smaller than the 6Ah. Also this is over kill for what I'm currently using this for, a drill. These are clearly made for their yard tools, or I think they have 20v (x2) table saws and miter saws, that these are definitely PERFECT for. As for the 50% increase in power, that's a bit of a lie. What it really is, is that it gives you FULL POWER from the start, something about those 18650 based batteries needs a little warm up before you can get the full power out of your tools, like 4Ah or more, the 2Ah is not enough, I think it's because the current requirement is high on most DeWalt tools and their RPM ratings are rated for 4Ah or more packs. Where as, even if you got the 2Ah PowerStack, you're getting that whole current power up front. I think it's because they can include a bigger buck converter... I saw a whole Youtube video explaining it. So, this is a great battery and also was literally 60 USD cheaper than Lowe's wanted. I think the two pack on here is literally nearly half the price of Lowe's two pack. They seem legit, been running my drill non-stop, for over 4hrs and haven't lost a pip in the meter, and it's an impact driver. Only negative, as I said, thought this would be smaller, it's still a sizeable battery.

These batteries run a little wider and not as tall as the other ones. However, it's great and filled with power. If you're someone like me who was debating between this or the 5ah one, I'd say get the 5ah. The size, weight, and power are the perfect package.

I purchased 2 of these grey 8AH DeWalt batteries (DCB2108). They're the grey powerstack type, as inside is a stacked, pouch-style batteries (vs. cylindrical cell). I chose this based on a review (ProjectFarm) that showed they outperform the typical DeWalt battery chemistry. I had 2x 10AH regular batteries for my lawn-mower. I chose to replace them with a new pair of these grey 8AH, they came with a low charge, I gave them a quick 45min recharge (not full, light was flashing) and then proceeded to cut my grass. It was a wet day, the grass was long, I went thru 5 bags of mulch off the back of the mower (vs. a typical 2 bags) yet the batteries still had life. No loss of performance! I made the choice to downsize the battery because one was taken from my unlocked car (it was attached to an inflator) so I had to replace with a matching pair...I balked at the price of 1x 10AH (regular type DCB210)...plus I think one of those really large batteries wasn't amazing...just couldn't remember which. As I write this review I see now the algorithm has put that older, larger, battery on a deep sale now...arghh, maybe I could have bought only 1 after all...oh well. Now either my trimmer or blower can have the old 10AH battery stay with it without removing them from the mower each time I switch tools!

very good battery

This is a premium battery. At a time when the 5ah are seeming cheaper made, this is a well built battery, with extra details - rubber padding. Etc. It's not hugely bigger than a 5ah, but noticeably more powerful. Doesn't come on sale all that often, but can be found <200 once in a while.
