JBL Xtreme 2, Waterproof Portable Bluetooth Speaker, Black

Had this xtreme 2 for over 2+ years now .. and still no sign of age, problems, or decline of health, still super long battery life per charge, waterproof AND dust proof. Taken this speaker up a mountain with atv’s many many times and no dust, mud, or water damage. Taken many hard hits right on rocks and concrete. Worth every penny, great looking speaker for the value, incredible JBL sound quality big speaker and the shoulder straps practically make it so it’s not even there. The connect + feature is outstanding and awesome to party with friends with other (older models). However one flaw is the connect+ system won’t pair with the party boost with the new jbl’s, tested it with my buddy’s xtreme 3 and it didn’t pair, which isn’t a huge issue, just buy the older models if you want multiple devices playing at once. Overall incredible speaker for the price, great performance.. great sound quality. Definitely worth buying the xtreme 2. (I highly recommend buy it brand new for best quality, performance, and durability)

I had been using an old Dewalt worksite speaker for a number of things for years. It served it's purpose but was rather cumbersome for the nature of what I used it for so I was in the market for a nice rechargeable bluetooth speaker. Well my son has a smaller JBL bluetooth speaker that he has been very happy with bit I needed a louder one for my purposes. One of which is for a planning committee for a retreat where we use a lot of music that has to be listened to and voted in. It was kind of a hassle to lug the Dewalt along with the tote and other stuff I had to take then find a spot to plug the Dewalt in. This Speaker has made that process so much easier. I use the strap and carry I like a purse, freeing my hands up to carry the other stuff, saving me a trip from my car to our meeting spot! Also, I no longer have to use the cord from my phone for the sound! Also, we watch a lot of movies in the yard on a projector that had the 3mm jack and Bluetooth. Now I just use the bluetooth with this handy speaker. I was also able to take this speaker out on a pontoon where we all like to jump off into the river and swim. This thing had zero issue with water occasionally dripping off of us and it took up little space on the pontoon and made our trip so much more fun with music! It holds a charge for a long time, even turned all the way up! I have not used it in durations as to completely sap the battery but I can say that one weekend, I used it for 2 hours turned all the way up at a music meeting, then the next evening for 3 hours turned all the way up watching a movie outside and when I went to charge it back up, the battery was only down 2 dots out of 5. The folks on our retreat are so happy with what they have seen so far from the functionality and sound of this speaker that we have been having fundraisers to save up for the party box and microphones to have for our actual retreat to replace our old, very cumbersome sound system. I love the quality of JBL speakers that I have experienced so far. In the short time I have had this, I am absolutely thrilled with it. The difference between lugging that old worksite speaker and this little, potent thing is like night and day. Also, some of our work vehicles no longer have working radios and I even take it to work sometimes when in those vehicles and have music to make the work day less dreadful. I really hope there is a good sale on the party boxes so we can get one for our retreat in the spring. We are saving up!

The speaker is great. Also the bass and sound. It was easy to connect with my phone and the color is great. A side from that everything is good.

I have only good things to say. Best bluetooth speaker I've ever bought, I can vouch. This thing is 6 years old now and STILL thumping and bumping. I bought this all the way back in 2020 and I've used it for everything since then. The volume on this thing has exceeded my expectations in 4th of July parties, in the shower (yes, it's been soaked plenty of times and yet this monster is still alive), it's been in the mud but I just rinsed it off, brought it to my first job a lot and even got beef on it 😂, everything! The bass and treble haven't degraded one bit over the years and the day this thing finally dies I will feel like I've lost an old friend. We've been through hell and back together. If you're looking for something that sounds incredible and will last forever no matter what you do to it, look no further. Trust me, this thing is an angelic sounding tank! Tried and true.

This is a great speaker, I have used it every day since purchasing! The sound quality is pretty crisp with good bass. It can get really loud without diminishing the quality of what you are listening to. The battery life is great it will last you around 12 hours. The attachable strap is very helpful if you are bringing the speaker out and about with you. If you are looking for a daily portable speaker that can move around with you and has good sound and battery life this is the speaker for you!

I wanted to review three JBL speakers, comparatively, in one go. I have in front of me now the Flip 6, Xtreme 2 and Xtreme 3. I started with the Flip 6, to replace some aging Bose soundlink Micros (Flip 6 is way better than both Bose Micro and Flex, IMO). Overall, of the three the Flip 6 is the best bang for the buck...great range of sound, decent volume and bass for indoor use. Does distort a little at max volume. I then got the Xtreme 3 with high hopes. It has tremendously crisp highs, deep lows, but it is VERY lacking in the midrange...the sound feels hollow, empty. Might be OK for synthetic music, but for anything instrumental I was disappointed. What I did find is if you pair the Flip 6 with the Xtreme 3 in party mode, they together sound very good. The Flip 6 fills the holes in the sound of the Xtreme 3, the Xtreme 3 expands the sound of the Flip 6. A great pairing...but now you need two speakers. So then I got the Xtreme 2...which I will be keeping instead of the Xtreme 3. The treble isn't as crisp, the base maybe not quite as low, but it has good midrange, a much more balanced sound. A good way to explain it might be that the Xtreme 3 is better for drums/beats but the Xtreme 2 is better for bass and rhythm guitar. I wish that the Xtreme 2 could do party mode with the Flip 6, I bet that would be awesome, but the Xtreme 2 doesn't pair with the newer ones. The Flip 6 I think has slightly better range than the Xtreme 2, but it isn't as powerful sounding. Xtreme 2 gets louder and doesn't seem to distort at high volume. In conclusion, from my perspective: the Flip 6 is the better overall, bang for the buck, for indoor use. The Xtreme 2 is really good, would take if over the Flip 6 for outdoors and wouldn't be sad to have it in the house. The Xtreme 3 alone is just plain lacking...but if used in conjunction with the Flip 6,together are quite good. Xtreme 3 plus Flip 6 is louder and crisper than Xtreme 2 alone, a bit better range but not as powerful of a tone and still not as balanced in the mids.

I bought this to use primarily in a 350 square foot room as my home stereo system. At times I like listening to very loud music and this achieves that just fine. Also, it doesn't distort when at full volume. It sounds superb whether I'm playing orchestral, jazz, rock, or bluegrass. Like when wearing headphones, I hear certain elements of music that I didn't before because of the hi fidelity. I was worried about some reports that the bass was overwhelming with this speaker. I rarely find that to be the case. It is just right nearly all the time. I was able to buy a low-cost portable CD player to plug directly into this speaker--another feature useful to me. I am plenty happy with the battery life. I like that the lights for the power button and battery life are visible but not obtrusive. Regarding portability, I take this to another home now and then and the size/weight is not that big a deal. If I had to carry it ten blocks to the beach I suppose it would be cumbersome. But I didn't buy it for portability. I bought it for the superb sound. The only negatives are that when using it to watch streaming videos via Bluetooth there is a delay (AKA latency) between the actor's lips moving and the sound. It's a short delay but distracting enough that I can't bear it. There might be a solution to this. I haven't researched that yet. Lastly, the red JBL logo/placard in the center of the front-facing side of the speaker is too big for me. As this is meant to fit into the decor of my home, I don't like loud brand logos. All in all, it is a superb speaker. Update: The only way I found to avoid the audio delay when watching videos (lips moving and sound out of sync; AKA latency) is to connect the speaker to my laptop using the speaker's aux input port with a cable.

This is my third portable Bluetooth speaker by JBL, the other two being the Flip 4's shown in the picture as well. I bought this one after being very happy with the two Flips, and very impressed with their quality of sound, versatility, utility, convenience, and ruggedness. The Xtreme 2 is all of that, in a bigger package with more features! I was expecting it to be a little bit louder (and the volume isn't as loud unplugged as it is plugged in), but it still rocks out. Beautiful sound quality once again, with pretty impressive range, and nice clear bass sound that doesn't overpower the mids and highs. When paired up with my two Flips it's even better and more dynamic, plus i can put these speakers anywhere creating a kind of surround sound. Pretty cool. JBL says you can't pair more than two speakers together in Stereo Mode, but I found that if you get the two smaller speakers playing in Stereo Mode and only then power up the Xtreme, and then press the Connect+ button it'll start playing, while the other two remain in Stereo Mode, essentially as a center channel. Pretty cool, and the sound is wonderful! Much better than having them all in Party Mode. Unfortunately when done in this backdoor manner the Xtreme 2 doesn't show up in the Connect+ app, but that's not really a big deal. I'm hopeful that JBL will incorporate that feature in future updates of the Connect+ app. Ideally I would like the ability to assign left, right, or center channel to each individual speaker. The Connect+ app is the weak spot of these products. It's not very user friendly, sometimes unclear, and doesn't have many features. Along with adding Stereo Mode for more than two speakers, an EQ, and a volume control and indicator in the app would be really helpful. But the app alone isn't enough to sour me on these speakers. Hell, I've just recently ordered a Pulse 3 to add to the mix, and can't wait to see what it adds to this system. Overall these products are nothing short of excellent! I can set them up in my home as a system, or take one, two, or all three with me on the go! I haven't tested the waterproof of the Xtreme 2, but I have seen videos of them submerged in water, or floating in a pool, and i have had one of my Flips out on my kayak where it's been drenched and kept right on playing, so I do have full confidence that this one is just as durable. All of them, including the Xtreme 2 with its carry strap, are super potable and convenient. I envision adding another Xtreme 2 to my collection in the future, especially if JBL improves the app. In the meantime I'm looking forward to adding that Pulse 3 to the mix, and maybe another...

Apenas tengo dos semanas con ella, asi que no puedo opinar mucho sobre ella. Pero es justo lo que pedi y muy buena calidad en los materiales, el sonido tiene muy buena calidad sobre todo los bajos.

Som bastante potente e límpido, valeu cada centavo!

Sin dudas estoy sorprendido con la fidelidad del equipo, las voces se escuchan con una limpieza sorprendente por tratarse de una bocina bluetooth. Algunos puntos a clnsiderar: 1- la batería dura muchisimo 2- los graves suenan perfecto un sonido muy profundo sin ser exagerado q retumbe 3-muy fácil de conectar y enlazar con el cel 4- la calidad de materiales es lo mejor, hasta viene con 3 cables dependiendo el lugar del mundo q se use (no son 3 adaptadores, son 3 cables COMPLETOS) 5- no es barata, pero si puedes y quieres darte el gusto no te vas a arrepentir. 6- la bocina a volumen maximo no distorciona 7-la bocina en funcionamiento con el cable de corriente da un plus más de volumen al máximo q al no estar conectada. 8-la correa q viene para desplazar lo es muy útil. 9- Es muy linda y resistente a las caidas 10- es xp7 para resistencia al agua. 11- sirve como powerbank 12- diferencias con el modelo anterior, ahora es totalmente resistente al agua y aumentaron el tamaño de los controladores qué le dan un sonido más amplio y profundo El vendedor: muy buen servicio, la caja vino cerrada, llego mucho antes de lo estimado, el precio muy por debajo de las tiendas departamentales, muy recomendable.
