I picked this up as a replacement soldering iron mainly for heat-set inserts in my 3D printed parts and I’m really impressed. It heats up fast and the digital display is super handy to dial in the exact temp I need. I’ve used it at a range of temps depending on the inserts and materials, and it’s been consistent and reliable. The handle is comfortable, and I appreciate the safety features. It comes with a great variety of tips and inserts. Everything from standard soldering tips to all the sizes of brass heat-set inserts I could need. I’ve already used it to fix and reinforce a few prints, and it’s saved me from having to reprint parts. Overall, solid value for the price. If you're into 3D printing and want a reliable insert tool with some extras, this is a great choice. It also arrived quickly and package perfectly.

Works great for inserts and for soldering. I really like the digital temperature set on the iron itself.

Apparently it works great! I bought this as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend because he has two 3D printers and I wanted to get him something useful he could use with them. He told me he had a similar tool (or tools - who knew!) and when I offered to return them, he told me he'd hang onto them and try them out at some point. I was skeptical he ever would, but he let me know he used it to clean up a few things on a project where his tools couldn't reach and that it worked great. He really liked that he can control the temperature, apparently his other tool only has one heat setting, and he also likes the variety of tips. I'm glad he decided to keep them, and that I didn't miss the mark!

Pleasantly surprised on this little guy. Heats up fast, strongly built, digital display, and nice grip! The stand is a little weak but I bought it for the iron... Works good for Welding plastic and soldering wires.. Solid little unit competes with my Hakko and Weller, but more portable..

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This Soldering Iron has worked very well for me since I got it for my birthday back in April. It has made many soldering projects far easier than they were trying to use my old Weller Soldering Iron, and unlike the Weller Soldering Iron I can get new tips for this one. It is also extremely useful as a person who 3D prints many things to have this Soldering Iron which comes with the heat set insert attachments so all you may need would be the insert press to help keep it strait for critical projects that need many inserts. Overall definitely recommend for a powerful low budget Soldering Iron.

Excellent insert kit, as it comes with everything you need to start working. I bought it to add inserts to 3D prints.

This is a simple kit and useful for my classroom projects. However, it came with a variety of sizes of threaded inserts. But the pieces don't stay in their own container compartment. So the sizes are combined and so close together, it's hard to tell which size is which. I haven't had an opportunity to pull them all out to size and resort. I love the variety of tool heads. My class does 3D printing. These tools allow us to work with the printed parts for post-processing. The spring soldering iron stand will not stay on the table if the wand is insterted in the spring. It needs to be weighted or bolted to the table.
