Audioengine HD3 Home Music System - Wireless Speakers with Bluetooth - 60W Powered Computer and Desktop Speakers with aptX HD Bluetooth

These speakers are perfect for my Home Office. Connecting via Bluetooth was immediate and easy. There is also a USB connection if you prefer to use that to connect to your Mac/PC. The sound has a wide stereo spread - with the main vocals hitting you in the centre (if you are sitting between the two speakers). The sound detail is clear and clean, nicely picking up small percussion and the drag of the hand over the guitar strings. The bass is perfect for me/my set up - it is loud and 'present' (e.g. not flat or tinny etc) but not too overpowering that it 'booms' or distorts. Volume level: These will go very loud - too loud for my needs, so I play at a maximum of just over 50%. There is no background hum or buzz. I'm currently playing via Bluetooth rather than hardwired connection, and the sound is superb. Good enough for me. I have noticed that streaming music via iTunes has a better sound quality to Spotify - I believe this is because in iTunes you can edit the sound using the Equaliser that is available in iTunes, which means I have gently pushed the tone sliders up to make the sound crisper. With Spotify the sound is slightly flatter but still pleasant. I bought these for listening to music whilst working and for editing Video, where I needed good, accurate sound representation from my audio files and these do the job perfectly. They look great too. The Bluetooth indicator is on the front, so you can see it connecting. The volume dial is on the front (however I use the volume on my Mac to adjust volume) - and there is a headphone speaker connection on the front too. The sound is warm, crisp and lovely. They have a small footprint, so they fit easily on a desktop. I've angled them upwards slightly, to lift the sound off the desk (recommended). Hope this helps. Can't say a bad word about them.

Wired to pc using usb. Also Bluetooth compatible. Bought these to replace Logitech Z3 2.1 speakers hoping for better quality sound? Arrived today 16/01/19 so will need recommended 40 - 50hr run in period before I can review properly. Impressed with packaging, all contents came in wee cloth bags, speakers and all cables look and feel quality. I have pc volume up to 50% and I can’t turn volume knob on left speaker very far, meaning they’re loud! I will edit, update in a few weeks after living with them. Update 23/01/2019 Firstly I am no audiophile but I do listen to music a lot and would like to think I know when it sounds great. Yes it sounds great even spectacular from these speakers. Also the 3rd photo will show the Audioengine S8 subwoofer which arrived today, makes my listening experience all that much richer. Steely Dan - Cousin Dupree has blown me away even though I’ve heard it a hundred times before. Still jiggling about with the all important 3 knobs on back of sub, volume, crossover, phase to get the perfect rich balance for me.

I have been fond of listening to music since I was young, trying different kinds and setting of audiophile equipments has been my hobby for decades, when I got my first pair for my desktop PC, I really amazed how well this speaker perform in terms of sound stage, depth of field and sound quality. Now I have a setting which needs another pair of speakers, after looking at many other choices on the market, I decided to buy a second pair of this HD3, because for the same size on the market, I think that I can hardly find another product which is better, it comes not only with an analog amp but also with a DAC which you can feed the digital signal directly from the PC which is absolutely value for the money. And I think this is the best connection method for the best sound quality.

Excellent quality sound. Balanced all the way down to a decent amount of bass for the size. Product oozes quality in the finish, the connectors, the packaging etc. Bluetooth pairing straightforward with my Windows 10 mobile. One star off (which may be slightly unfair) because came with a European plug, not a UK one. And also (but this may be the fault of the Windows 10 stock USB driver) in order to get a decent volume you MUST go into the control panel and within sounds and enhancements tick the box for Loudness Equalization.

I bought these to use in the office, they fit nicely below the 4k monitor. They were gifted to me for Christmas, so we tested them in the dining room, where they were able to fill the room with sound. They were used in preference to the Bose Acoustic Wave speaker over the holidays; the bluetooth was more convenient, I found that vocals and classical instruments were clearer, but missed the deeper bass. In the office they are ideal though. Seems like a crazy amount to pay for such small speakers but I would miss them.

The product is amazing and it is a 5 star product. However, I have to give 1 star, giving the fact Amazon has shipped in UK where I live a product made for EU, thus I cannot use the power cable and I have to find a new cable or add a power adapted.

Build quality is excellent, sound quality is great, there’s just one major problem for me… These are near field speakers designed for desktop use, yet they hiss at all times when powered. This isn’t a problem when listening to music as it’s never so silent that you hear it (it’s quiet but noticeable at desktop listening distances) but for stuff like teams calls when there are silent periods, it’s really noticeable and off putting. I can’t leave them switched on at my desk unless actively listening to music so am always turning them on and off. Another gripe is that they will always reconnect the last Bluetooth source, even if you’re using a different input. I’d be scrolling on my phone in the bedroom and the speakers at my desk would be playing the audio, even cutting out the audio from my computer to do so. I literally have to unpair and repair every time I want to use the Bluetooth. Unfortunately a deal breaker for me and I will be returning them. If you’re using them for music or listening from a bit further back, you’ll be happy. But for desktop use, look elsewhere.

Unos altavoces que sorprenden por su tama;o compacto y en persona se nota la calidad. Muy bien hecho, un tamaño perfecto para el escritorio. Tengo un altavoz a cada lado y ocupan poco. Compre unos pies de esos para ponerlo en angulo y amortiguar un poco las vibraciones y genial. Me he quedado flipando con la calidad del sonido y poder destinguir las difirentes tonalidades y instrumentos en las canciones. Lo que como en otros comentarios carece mucho de los bajos, y ha he pedido el subwoofer de la marca para compensar y tener un equipo de sonido completo. Pero como digo estos altavoces estan muy completos y de una alta calidad.

Speakers do exactly what you would expect at this price point. Great sound. I had an amplifier issue in the left speaker but AudioEngine send a replacement board to me at no expense and it fixed all issues. Thanks

Got these for both myself and my wife. She loves the clarity and full range although I tweaked the EQ for her to bring the bass up a bit to suit the music she listens to. I got the sub with mine and am running everything flat. The sound stage is fabulous using the speakers inbuilt d/a converter and has revealed nuance that I hadn’t heard in a number of tracks (I’m a musician and have a wide ranging taste in musical styles). Best sound I’ve heard from a PC and will use it to mix some of my recordings.

Dabei ist das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ebenfalls ausgezeichnet. Ich habe die Lautsprecher mit einem kleinen Subwoofer kombiniert, dann spielen Sie ihre Brillanz in den Höhen noch besser aus.

The sound and stereo separation is excellent - especially considering their size. Clear and musical sound comes out of these small speakers. To get real low-end bass you absolutely need a subwoofer which I got as well from Audioengine. Perfect match. So far so good, but when I plug in my headphones in the 3,5 mm jack the subwoofer goes berserk and makes a loud boom sound. Every time. You need to turn off the speakers before plugging in the headphones if you are using a subwoofer, unless you want to scare the dog and all the neighbors. Fortunately I'm using an external DAC and headphone preamp with these speakers - so the above problem is only academic for me.
