Ring Battery Doorbell with Ring Chime

I love that this Ring doorbell runs on a battery – it made installation super easy, and I didn’t have to worry about wiring anything. The battery life is amazing too! Ours lasted over 6 months before needing a recharge, which was a pleasant surprise.It works great, gives us peace of mind, and the app makes it easy to keep an eye on things. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a simple, reliable setup!

I thought I mentioned pretty much everything as far as the doorbell and the maintainer/charger from Ring in my other review. But I hit the button too quick and posted it, I would like to add also that this is a video doorbell, so you can just push the button and ring the optional chime or you can talk to whoever's inside the house or outside for that matter and actually carry on a conversation if you want to, or leave a recorded message that you can't answer the door right now. It also comes across your phone, and also works with Alexa. I can be at work 13 miles away from my home and look at the app on my phone and bring up the live view on either camera and see what's going on around my house or talk to whoever's at my door, if that was the case. You can use this without a subscription, but like with anything else it's limited. I opted for the subscription to get the most out of them. So far I like them.

This is the third security doorbell I've tried. This one is worth keeping. However, people can and do walk all the way up my walkway and stairs to the front door, leave packages, and walk away - all without getting a notification! I've got zones set, tho I deleted the package zone because I get better notifications without it! I'm estimating it's about a 5% fail rate of not detecting people coming to my door. The sound quality is mixed - some sounds are quite garbled, but the microphone seems to be extremely sensitive - perhaps too sensitive, as it picks up conversations from people walking by (the sidewalk's about 30 feet from my front door). The video quality fluctuates between crystal clear and blurry for no apparent reason. The app is straightforward and easy to use.My only other feedback is generic to all such devices: I do wish they would all revert to allowing the customer to save their own data to a local SD card instead of forcing us to have a paid subscription and storing everything in the cloud - no matter what security measures are in place, it is a less-desirable arrangement for those of us who prefer local storage and don't otherwise use the cloud - especially for sensitive data like video of our homes.

We like that the chime rings in the house in case your phone isn't near you. It was pretty easy to set up (although we already had a Ring camera).
