Excellent OBD2 Engine Scanner
I bought this scanner to trace and repair a fault on my son's car that had a permanently lit engine management light. I've never used one before so I can't compare it with any others. The Scanner is good quality and comes with all the leads that you need and is easy to use. The fact that I was able to diagnose and repair the fault, and I was able to turn off the management light means that with one use the scanner it has paid for itself. Well worth the money. I needed to contact nexpeak regarding installing the drivers. Support was excellent. The driver that wouldn't install was for windows XP so not needed. Things that I think could be improved. The instructions are written by someone who's first language isn't English and can be difficult to follow, but any DIYer will quickly get the hang of it. The instructions should have a glossary of terms at the begining, for example DTC-diagnostic trouble codes, DLC,MIL,I/M etc. I kept having to search to see what they meant. It would be better if you didn't need to make a note of the fault codes and go back into a different screen to see the definition. Overall I'm very pleased I bought the scanner. Very highly recommended.

Great piece of kit
This is my first Scanner/Code Reader and very impressed. I did lots of searching before buying and in this price bracket, seemed to get very good reviews overall. Sturdy, good sized screen, colour screen, long connecting lead (important), lots of functions and crisp buttons. Easy to use but written instructions could perhaps be a little better. Although once you've got the hang of it, it is really easy to use Works straight out of the box. Has lots of other functions which I am yet to explore This has saved me hundreds of pounds rather than going to a garage to get them to check any fault codes. I rate myself as a good car diy'er. Scan the codes with this reader. Go online to car forums or youtube and find the most likely things which would cause the error code and nine out of ten times you can fix it yourself for very little money. At worst, you'll know what the problem is when you talk to your garage mechanic. Really good and pretty essential for any modern car.

Was 4 stars
Found initially it did not communicate at all with my MG ZT ( 97% BMW electrics) whereas a cheaper one previously did work about 60%. But went through the Youtube videos on how to update the firmware ( pretty easy even though a Bit Chinglish) , and now it does at communiate with the latest firmware. Back Again, So far tried this on : A Ford cmax/Focus , and all reading data Ok A Fiat Grande Punto Diesel all reading data Ok A MG ZR ( K series) all reading data Ok An MG ZT with a Ford 4.6 V8 ( right pig normally with even the proper gear ( but now it at least comunicates and reads a fair bit of data ) Still a bit limited with My ZT diesel ( BMW motor and Electrics ) but does read some data, but this a known problem for this car . Still got the 1.8 ZT turbo ( K series) to try with it weird ECU.. So all in all seems pretty good, bearing in mind how many cars/models are out there in the world , one cannot expect 100%. compatibilty . latest 2020 ...... latest update from the nexpeak upload tool and the 501 now does NOT read anything on MG ( bmw) cars , works ok on the Ford .......also the latest car a 330 D 2010 bmw, also will not communicate . so currently a BIG failure !!! so reduces the stars .. Revised 2.. back to 4 stars ....had very good support from nexpeak customer service... sent me file to "downgrade" or backwards flash the tool and at the moment does seems to be back to reading all our cars But still will NOT talk to the newest one 2010 Bmw 330d .

Works perfectly with my own car
A few months ago I spent over ยฃ50 on my Honda getting it checked the engine light. So I decided to buy this OBDII Fault Code Reader Tool and now I can read the code myself, saved me so much of money. Now I can just go myself to the garage and tell them what is wrong with my car. Was easier to use then I expected. I found the OBD2 diagnostic socket just where the INTEY manual said it would be. Plugged it in. I turned on the car and the Reader booted up a simple menu. I just read the code and this awesome Code Reader told me in really easy English what the problem was. Now I know whatโs the problem with my car, why my dashboard looked like a l Christmas tree with all the warning lights on. It helps me to recognize the issueโs and from now on, if itโs only a minor problem maybe I can fix it myself, checking on Youtube how to deal with the situation, or Even if I have to take it to someone else to repair, I will know ahead of time the error my car is having. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone needing to pull codes when that check engine lights comes on. Save yourself some money! Get the parts yourself and maybe even do the labour on your own if you're able to!

It's genuine, accurate, easy to use & worth the money
It's a genuine product that give accurate results and easy to use. I have used it on my BMW E46 6 cylinder, it had a misfire but before taking it to the garage I decided to scan it with the Nexpeak obd fault code read and it read faults in just a few minutes, of O2/oxygen sensor and air mass sensor faults. Just after changing the sensors the vehicle has been running perfectly. I also used it on my Mercedes Benz 204 and works. Thanks to Nexpeak Obd fault code reader, it has been easy for me to work on my vehicles without the hustle of driving to a garage or consulting a mechanic when one of my vehicles is running otherwise and in case of engine service.

Poor vehicle compatibility info.
I bought this reader to check for a intermittent fault on my car, namely an environmental fault. I have a Citroen C4 Grand picasso MK2 2015. I read the reviews before purchasing and also those of other units. I was sceptical though as they all push that they are suitable for cars from Asia and USA. Mainly because they are mostly manufactured in China. So back to the unit. It looks well built and I was impressed by the quality and the fact it's in a case. However the instructions leave much to be desired. I am a qualified engineer and can logically fix most things and even manage to find the eOBD socket. Unit plugged in and ignition on. Checking for faults the unit straight away failed to recognise some tests. Namely O2, EVAP and a basic VIN check to name a few. It would only perform a few basic checks I could have done with my ยฃ10 Bluetooth unit. On checking the literature this only checks models up to 2013 so up to mk1. I sent a message to the company on their contact info but no reply. So I asked the community. Wish I hadn't bothered. Yes I am aware it's an industry standard OBD port! And yes it works but not all the functions can be scanned. So it's going back and I've bought one dedicated to my vehicle.

Robust quality tester.
A great piece of kit, feels well made and has a robust feel in the hand. Clear display and very easy to navigate. It is a very clever piece of electronic test equipment. For those new to this type of kit there will be a steep learning curve, however it is really worth getting one as it gives you a heads up on your cars condition, good for when a dodgy garage tries to invent problems. I would highly recommend this unit, it is more advanced than many of the cheap ones and therefore worth the extra money.

this tool can and will help with car engine fault lights etc
This tool is not the cheapest but as with every thing you get what you pay for and in this department this is well worth the price, cars with warning light on the dash ignition cluster you don't know what it means well this tool will take the mystery out of the equation and help you understand the problem and so the light wont come on again yes it can put the warning light off clear the fault and help you decide if you need to take the vehicle to garage for further investigation it is easy to use just follow the instructions if the fault is clearable it will do the job

Durable, portable, reliable OBD2 code reader.
I self-inflicted some problem into my old one after several years of regular use and chose to replace it with the same model. It really is a durable device, internally and externally. I like the portable and simple user interface to monitor/reset diagnostic trouble codes, as well as monitor I/M readiness for emissions testing. Affordable test tool and fast delivery from Amazonโฆ a good deal.

Very Compact. Very good product. Learned to use in 2 minutes. Solved problem in 1 minute!!!
Very nice tool to have. When your check engine light comes on, it's nice to have a code reader in your toolbox instead of driving all over town to find an AutoZone or O'Reilly's to have them read the codes for you. One thing I did learn after buying this and using it myself. If you plug it in and the screen stays black, check your cigarette lighter fuse. Apparently that can cause the plug that the OBDII fits into not to have power. I almost sent this back, until I realized it wasn't the machine that was bad, but a cigarette lighter fuse burned out causing the OBDII not to come on. Anyway, the OM126P gives you all the codes that can cause problems with your vehicle and shows whether the part is already gone or it's pending. Still learning what all it can do and what each screen means. This also gives you diagnostics and graphs out feedback. Worth the money, especially on older model cars (with computers) like mine that have a check engine light pop up at least once or twice a year (it seems). OM126P will save me money in the long run, because I will be able to diagnose and repair my car without having to take it to a professional mechanic. With this you can find the codes, research what is causing them and if you're so inclined, fix the problem yourself. I really like that this reader gives a description of the code and not just the code itself. For anybody that likes fixing their own stuff, OM126P is a must have for your toolbox.

Fast and accurate OBD2 scanner
The device quickly is able to gather the data from your cars port. It appears to function faster than other scanner tools I have used. It lays out the information in a logical fashion and the extra buttons on its body allow for easier navigation through the various menus and options. In my use, it was able to gather the information for Japanese cars as well as a Swedish car. The display is also of very high quality (crisp and bright) making the presented information easier to read. I do like that the cord is able to come off of the scanner body and the carrying case is a nice touch as well. The cord is extra long making it easier to use while sitting in the driver or even passenger seat. The only minor complaint I have is that the OBD2 end of the plug (the one that plugs into your car port) is a little snug, but the contact it makes is obviously very good because it seems to not have issues with data gathering. All in all, I'd say it's a good device for the cost.
