So happy with this controller
Update: had it for a while now things i love is that its wirelessly, works amazing, and I can control the volume of the headset if i connect it through the 3.5mm jack... the cons is that sometimes it just disconnects out of nowhere without warning and takes forever to connect back and mind you that im like 3ft away from my xbox, secondly you never know when its fully charged and no way to turn off the lights when charging so its always on... when using it and you want the lights completely off just press the start and select button at the same time and it will turn off for the time you are using it until you turn on your xbox again... so far its a good controller but could be better. This controller to me is the perfect xbox controller because it has a good price, RGB is on point I love it so much, has a charging dock and I don't have to pay extra for it... I'm happy with the triggers just wish I didn't have to press that in..wish it was a shorter stop on T1 but other than that, its freaking amazing but this is an early review and will update if anything changes or breaks down in the future.

Hate the software, "PowerA Gamer HQ" App. Cheap controller material, poor functionality.
So, I had to repost this review because Amazon found it too unfriendly or something, or the company simply didn't like it. Too bad, I'll keep reposting till it stays. Their app is so frustrating to navigate, who designed this? The controller isn't the WORST but right out of the box, I have a laundry list of complaints. For one, I'm not too fond of how the grips feel. Hands will get sweaty faster on that kind of material, remapping is hell. The unnecessarily bright RGB is cute but useless to me, and there is no way to just turn it off during play. It has 3 brightness settings basically and they're all too much. The wave/flash modes are even worse despite being technically "off," but instead $ach button press blinding you no matter how low the brightness is or what colors available. This controller was designed for influencers on streams or kids to show off while giving gamers who care more about function a headache. This is supposed to be OFFICIALLY licensed, yes? Well, pressing the sync button on your Xbox and the controller will NOT sync the controller at all. It does NOT connect to an Xbox natively and REQUIRES the included USB dongle to be plugged in to your console. That sync button only works with the included dongle. It works with that or wired. Which is fine and all, but feels like Microsoft simply rubber stamped their license and the company cheaped out on total compatibility. The controller feels cheap overall, I'm sorry, but it is, and I'm very disappointed. The whole setup with the case and charging mount was nice in concept BEFORE I got my hands on them. The charger gives ZERO indication that the controller is actively charging. Also, your Xbox CANNOT read the battery and tell you the percentage left or anything. So the controller dies when it dies, and charges when it charges, you have NO WAY OF KNOWING what's going on with the battery through an app, through the Xbox, or any indicator on any device from the included hardware with your "premium" PowerA controller. Hell, PowerA markets much cheaper controls that have this one simple feature down like most controllers, idk how you could mess this up on your most featured, expensive product. If you're going to make such a "fancy" RGB controller, at least use the RGB lights functionally to tell you the controller is charging. Even cheap, $30 junk on Amazon pulls off some kind of battery indication, and you're telling me an over $150+ PowerA controller couldn't give you ANY at all? This company must really love to cut corners. I bought another controller from them last year that recently bricked, waiting for warranty claim to go through. But after trying their supposedly highest-end wireless controller, to be so disappointed...? I think I'm done. This is my last time bothering with PowerA products.

Solid
Looks cool, hasn’t gotten stick drift after extensive use, the back buttons are pretty useless though, not very intuitive or anything like what elite controllers offer. It is a quality controller otherwise though. Aesthetically pleasing and a lot of good features.

Good but not great. Better options for same price.
Good but not great. Wouldn't buy again. I like having the rechargeable battery built in and it lasts a good amount of time. I wish it had a bit more weight to it. The RGB gets really annoying quickly and had to turn it off after about 15 minutes. Doesn't always detect button presses.

Amazing! One of the best controllers I’ve ever owned.
I bought the PowerA FUSION Pro Wireless Controller for Xbox thinking, “Cool, a nice upgrade.” What I didn’t realize was that I was about to accidentally become slightly better at video games. First thing I noticed is the build quality. This thing feels solid — like the controller equivalent of putting on a well-fitted suit before absolutely embarrassing yourself in a multiplayer lobby. The grips feel great, the buttons are responsive, and the paddles on the back make you feel like a professional gamer… even if your actual skill level still says otherwise. The wireless connection has been rock solid for me, and the battery life is great. I’ve had zero issues with lag or disconnects. The customization options are also awesome. Swapping sticks and adjusting things makes you feel like you’re tuning a race car, except the race car is your thumbs. My favorite part though? The back paddles. Suddenly I can jump, reload, and panic-roll all at the same time while still aiming badly at my enemies. Truly revolutionary. Overall, fantastic controller. Comfortable, responsive, and packed with features. Will it instantly make you a pro gamer? No. Will it make you feel like one while still losing? Absolutely.

This is the best "budget" pro controller that punches way above its price. I highly recommend downloading the companion app for easy customization of this controller. Let's start with the control sticks. They are very good but some games that lack dead zone settings may have stick drift issues since the hall effect modules on this controller pick up the slightest of movements. You can remedy this by using the app to set a custom dead zone on the controller itself. Most modern games don't really have this issue thankfully. The height adjustment is easy to do and is holding solid for me so far. Controller rumble is much improved on this model over the last generation fusion pro 3. Low frequency rumble is more punchy and the high frequency trigger rumbles no longer buzz like an angry wasp even at the highest setting. I do recommend turning down the trigger rumbles to 80-90% in the companion app just for comfort reasons. RGB lighting is really good and can be easily turned off or on by pressing the "start and select" buttons at the same time. Again I highly recommend downloading the companion app for customizing the hundreds of possible combinations of RGB settings. The included charging stand is weighted and magnetized so the controller sticks right to it when you dock it. The charging puck can also be removed if you want to charge it off of the docking station or you can plug a USB cable into the top of the controller. My one complaint of this controller is the lack of a battery monitor. There is no way to check the charge level of the battery while it is in use.

A lot of missed potential
This controller had a lot of potential but after using it for almost 2 months, I wish I could return it. Overall, it is definitely a 'budget' pro controller and it shows in the software & build quality. This is my 4th attempt trying a Power A product and I think my last. Pros: - The RGB colors are great - The controller feels good to hold - The face buttons, shoulder buttons, and sticks feel great - Battery life is incredible. The fact that it comes with a stand to charge and display the controller is neat Cons: - It uses a USB dongle to connect. Half of the time, it does not wake from sleep when I try to turn it on wrielessly and I have to physically turn on the xbox for it to connect. The other half of the time it works as it should - The back buttons are poorly placed. It is way too easy to accidentally hit them with the slightest grip - Mapping SUCKS. Idk if I am doing something wrong or not, but the directions are a nightmare and whenever I save mappings to a specific profile, they never actually save and I have to re-do it every time I turn on the controller - The app sucks. Bigtime. The Xbox App to customize the controller feels like its in an Alpha stage. Half of the controls don't work, navigating the UI is cumbersome and non-intuitive, and it never saves me profiles. - The triggers feel terrible. The trigger stops barely have a difference between the settings.

Top shelf
I would buy this again. Everything just works - really well. Love the joysticks, bumpers and buttons w/ Hall effects. I bought it for use with my Xbox X Stick: - comes back to dead centre every time - immediately responsive when moving off centre - quick to adjust height up/down for comfort and/or sensitivity - smooth movement Buttons, bumpers and triggers - light touch, easy to press - responsive, no missed presses Lighting - this wasn't a selling feature for me, although its grown on me - easy to turn on/off GamerHQ software - easy to download onto the Xbox - intuitive to use, easy to change mapping or lighting Customization (without using GamerHQ) - easy to do - press a button on the back and then change mapping as desired Dongle - this was a bit of a sticking point for my purchase, but I don't even think about it now - noticed that several other high end controllers also use a dongle - had a bit of an issue getting the Xbox to recognize it right of the hop. Re-booted and everything has worked fine since. Battery life - I wish this had a battery life indicator (doesn't show on Xbox b/c thinks its plugged in w/ dongle) - lasts for several days of long gaming - now I just make a point of throwing it on its charging stand every 3-4 days
