Its an old game. Still a little bit fun

Like others, I was pretty worried to purchase this, but it's the real deal. Comes with both games on the cart at v1.0.0, so be sure to update them once you get it in the console. Not sure if this is an International cart or not, but the games have text options for English, German, Polish, Russian, French, Spanish, Italian, and Czech, and English/German/Polish/Russian voice options. Couldn't be happier with purchase since I've heard the switch versions have some really nice QoL features.

Gothic I and Gothic II in a cartridge. No manulas or artpage, the case is empty except for the cartridge itself, which is a shame. The cartridge does contain both games, you might have to update the game as soon as you pop in the cartridge.

Both games are on the physical cartridge, it has a download not entirely sure what the download is for, however both games appear to play through pretty far without the downloaded update.

A Great Classic RPG Experience on Nintendo Switch. Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga is a great collection for RPG fans who enjoy old-school games with challenging gameplay, exploration, and a world that does not simply hold your hand. Bringing these classic Gothic adventures to Nintendo Switch is a nice opportunity to experience them in a more convenient way, especially for players who enjoy having physical RPGs in their collection. The biggest strength of Gothic is its atmosphere. The world feels gritty, mysterious, and dangerous, and there is a real sense that your character starts out at the bottom and has to earn their place. Progression feels meaningful because you are not immediately given everything you need to succeed. Exploring new areas can be risky, and encounters with stronger enemies can quickly remind you that you are not the most powerful person in the world. I really enjoyed the exploration. There are plenty of areas to investigate, characters to meet, quests to discover, and things to find. The world has a personality of its own, and wandering off the main path can lead to some interesting discoveries. The quests also help make the environment feel alive rather than simply being a collection of levels. The character progression and RPG mechanics are another highlight. Building up your character, improving skills, finding better equipment, and becoming stronger over time gives the adventure a satisfying sense of progression. It takes some time to understand all of the systems, but once everything starts clicking, the game becomes much more rewarding. The combat is where some of the age of the games becomes more noticeable. It can feel awkward at times, particularly when compared with newer RPGs that have much smoother controls and combat systems. Some mechanics also take a little getting used to, and the overall experience can be less forgiving than modern games. These issues did not ruin the experience for me, but they are definitely worth knowing before jumping in. The visuals and presentation also show their age, but I think that is part of the appeal for players who enjoy classic RPGs. Gothic has a distinct style and atmosphere that remains memorable even without modern graphics. The world feels rough around the edges, but it has character, and that is something many newer games sometimes struggle to achieve. The Nintendo Switch is a particularly nice platform for this collection because being able to play these classic RPGs portably is a big advantage. I like having the option to sit down for a longer session or pick the game up for shorter periods when I have time. The physical collection is also a welcome addition for anyone who enjoys building a library of classic games. Overall, Gothic Classic Khorinis Saga is a rewarding collection with a lot of content, atmosphere, exploration, and old-school RPG charm. It is not perfect, and some of the dated mechanics and combat can take patience, which is why I am giving it four stars instead of five. However, if you can look past those older design elements, there is a deep and memorable RPG experience underneath. For fans of classic role-playing games, Gothic, or challenging adventures that expect you to explore and figure things out on your own, this collection is well worth considering. It is great to see these games available on Nintendo Switch and even better to have them together in one collection.
