I recently upgraded from an iPhone 7 Plus to an iPhone 16 Plus. My eight year-old iPhone 7 Plus is pristine because I have always kept it in an Otterbox Defender case; too bad Apple rendered it useless with software updates (but that's another story). Automatically bought this case for my new phone. It no longer comes with a holster, which I have always used, but they'll send you one for free if you request it on their web site. They needn't have bothered. As great as this case is (even though it no longer includes a screen protector), the holster is terrible. In all the years I carried the 7 Plus in its holster, I can't remember it ever popping out. This one does several times a day, and my phone falls to the ground. So far, no damage to the phone because the case itself is so good, but it's only a matter of time, especially considering how thin the bezel around the display is. I realize Otterbox has no control over Apple's goofy design decisions, like the way this phone is bristling with buttons they had to work around. But come on. Is this holster made by a completely different company? I'm disappointed to say the least, and I'm looking for an alternative. Interestingly enough, my iPhone 7 Plus Otterbox Defender holster seems to work better with this new phone than the one made for it. But if you don't use the holster, great case.

The first case that was delivered had a warped power button. The company sent a replacement the next day and the case was perfect. I prefer the defender from the commuter case because the entire exterior is the rubber material and lasts multiple years.

This wasn’t my first time buying this particular model. I only really have one complaint about it: there’s a certain part of the hard part of the case, where the camera button is, that is incredibly thin and because of it, breaks easily. I can’t entirely fault the because of how the phone itself is designed, that gap needed to be there. Otherwise, this case performs well. I have dropped my phone many times, with no damage to it thanks to the strength of the phone case. Even when the thin part of the case is broken it, still works; I just got a new one because I was tired of looking at the broken piece.

I have been buying Otterbox cases for several years because Smart Phones are expensive and I would rather pay more for a good phone case that will protect my phone from breaking or the screen from shattering, than have to buy a new phone. I always buy the bulky "rugged" case because I drop my phone a lot and my friends that have the slim, sleek cases always end up with shattered phone screens when they drop their phones. With my previous Otterbox phone cases, I have wiped out on my skates at the beach and sent my phone flying across the path and landing hard on the bike path and my phone still worked perfect and the screen was not shattered. I even accidentally ran over my phone with my SUV when pulling out of my garage because I did not realize I had dropped it until I lost audio in my earbuds as I drove away. When I drove back my phone was sitting outside of my garage with tire tracks on the phone case - I was so impressed that my phone still worked AND the phone screen was not cracked. I included photos of that case - you can see the front of my phone has dirt and rocks because it was face down when I ran over it. I bought this phone case less than one year ago and although I have dropped it several times and it protected my phone - I did not drop it while skating or biking on the beach and I did not run over it like I did with my last case, but this case broke anyway and I am disappointed so I am only giving it 3 stars. I don't know how it broke or when it broke, I just realized the bottom of the rubber case no longer fit snug against the phone and that is when I noticed the plastic part on the bottom was cracked and was shifting and moving around and within a few days it completely broke off so I am now in the market for a new iPhone case. The only reason I have ever had to replace my prior Otterbox phone cases in the past is when I upgraded my phone and the case did not fit the new model. This is the first time I have had to replace an Otterbox case because it broke. Bottom line - this phone case is not as rugged as previous models.

Very poor quality for an OtterBox case. The rubber is already peeling around the edges even though this is brand new. Expected better durability for the price. 🥲

Not my first Otterbox product. Fits my new phone perfectly and allows for easy access to the camera button. I bought a separate screen cover and my phone is now well protected.
