iPhone 16 Pro Max Defender Series Case - Black

Ever since OtterBox came out. I have always used it to protect my phones from Samsung to Apple. I bought this Otterbox for my iPhone 16 Pro Max, and it's amazing. People say they don't like them because they're bulky, but it's worth it to protect your phone.

I really hadn’t thought much about my Otterbox that I’ve had for about two years because it works so well. It’s actually on the phone that I’m using for this review. I keep my phone in my pocket and my old otterbox for the iPhone 8 allowed a lot of dirt and debris under the screen protector. But this one for the my iPhone 16 is much better at keeping the screen clean. Keeping its shape.

I enjoy this case and have used it on all my other iPhones. I’ve found they’ve gotten easier to remove and install over the years which is great. They’ve increased protection around the camera this year compared to my last which is good. However, I do not like how there is not as much protection for the screen now (not raised on the sides). Also—as others have mentioned, the camera button cutout is poorly designed. Hurts my hand when I hold the phone, makes it feel unprotected, and could have easily been better. Good value for the money, and the design has stayed mostly consistent over the years, which is great—but the Camera cutout continues to be a disappointment and makes the case feel less protective. In my experience the case is functional and I use the anti slip capability a lot. However, in terms of its wireless charging performance, I have not had a great experience. I am unable to get a very fast charge from a MagSafe charger and the case gets hotter than I’d like. However, I’m very happy with the magnetic grip, it’s very strong and better than I expected. Disappointed they removed the plastic belt clip but you can still get it for free luckily with a provided in the box code. Overall, great case as always.

I’ve been using OtterBox for over a decade and their cases are phenomenal compared to everything else on the market. There is one small “notch” on the current case that has me concerned for long term use. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a dedicated camera button on the lower right side. This button sits flush with the frame of the phone. There is NO protection over this button, instead there is a notch molded into the OtterBox case where this section, approximately 1”, is exposed. It might be fine long term, but on initial impression it has me a little concerned. On the plus side, this notch gives my fingers a little extra edge to grip. Otherwise, the case feels terrific on the phone, with nice grip texture.

Awesome phone case very strong and very comfortable made very durable and not bulky! OTTERBOX MAKES THE BEST PRODUCTS EVER!!! Especially when it comes to phone cases!! THEY ARE MADE TO LAST!! THEY DON’T BREAK AND ARE EXTREMELY RESISTANT TO THE EVERYDAY ENVIRONMENT!! THEY ARE A LITTLE MORE ON THE EXPENSIVE SIDE FOR PHONE CASES BUT THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT, IT’S BECAUSE THEY LAST LONGER LIKE A LIFETIME!! I CAN GUARANTEE IT!
