Incredible for the price.
I've had a few and gave them away but I'm keeping this one. If you're not a techie get the loaded SD card or else it's not going to be much fun for you. If you are into tech then install OnionOS and load it up with all the roms you can find. PS1 is the most powerful system it emulates and it does it well. I have a couple other recent model handhelds that are bigger and more expensive that I don't like taking out of the house, this one fits into my pocket easily and I won't be too upset if it's lost or damaged.

v4 is tiny, only good if you have at least one other handheld
UPDATE: I’ve been keeping this in my EDC bag. It fits where my MM+ does not, meaning I’ve actually ended up using this a little more than my Plus to my surprise. It is in fact good for RPGs, but I’ve also played Mario and Donkey Kong on it without issue. Overall, I’m pleased. Just keep the poor QA in mind before purchasing. EDIT: I have ultimately decided to keep the white Mini v4 after spending some more time using it. For whatever reason I can’t bring myself to part with it even though it’s pretty impractical (and only about $5 less than the MM+). I definitely wouldn’t want it as a standalone device. You need something a little larger to comfortably play at home, but the v4’s compact size is too appealing and pocketable to ignore. I can see myself potentially taking it with me out and about, but we shall see. It’s supposedly perfect for RPGs. Even if I don’t use it regularly, it’s still a decent-enough back-up if something goes wrong with my Plus. I may even end up selling the v4 in a few years after the remaining stock is gone, and they’re difficult to find. Side note: it’s very easy to spend 3x the price of the actual handheld on modifications. The mod products are rather pricey in relation to the cheap price of the device. I spent $35 on the upgraded buttons for my MM+ alone. Just keep that in mind. A microfiber sunglasses sleeve works well as a thin layer of protection for the Mini, and even the MM+, depending on the size of the sleeve. It’s not a perfect fit length-wise, but the Goodr one I have is spot-on for the width. If you have one lying around, give it a try. You can’t beat free. FURTHER EDIT: After a few returns, I have received a quality device. Whew, a lot of trouble, but I really wanted one of the minis. Ended up with a white unit. It’ll do. Turns out the white and yellow have the same type of finish on them, matte, not as sleek or shiny as the transparent models. I initially thought the yellow one I received from a different seller seemed off due to the texture and overall feel of the unit, but that’s just how they are. I am so relieved I managed to get a good-quality v4 before they’re all sold out so I could really see what it’s like to play, but truthfully, I’m not all that impressed. Let’s be real; it’s more of a novelty item at this point. If you didn’t buy one when they were first released, you’re probably not going to appreciate it as much because there are “better” alternatives available now for about the same price (MM+ for example). The Mini is really almost too small for comfortable two-handed play. The Plus is much more ergonomic with a larger screen while still being portable. It feels better in my hands, and overall it’s just more enjoyable to play. It’s honestly the perfect beginner device. I’ve even modded the buttons which has given the cheap device a more premium feel. I’d recommend the Plus over the Mini for most situations. I have attached a photo of the v4 next to my MM+ for reference. Spend your money more wisely unless you are a long-time lover of the Mini or have extra cash sitting around begging to be spent; it probably won’t cut it as a standalone handheld for the majority of people just entering the retro gaming scene in 2025. I now kind of understand why Miyoo made the decision to discontinue the Mini. Those who wanted one, bought one when they were released, and they are probably the only people still consistently buying them to replace their old ones out of some kind of sentiment or because they’re just used to it. Well, them and people like me who wanna get in on the action, and then end up disappointed because it doesn’t live up to the hype. The customer-base for this particular model is probably drying up at this point. It’s a buy-it-just-to-have-it thing for me, something that may not get a whole lot of use, but the sheer cuteness of it makes it hard to give up. I say that as a newcomer to retro gaming. The sentimentality of the mini is lost on me because I simply just wasn’t there. As someone who isn’t blinded by the novelty of the mini, the MM+ is truly a much better device in almost every way. The only true difference is the larger size which doesn’t allow you to slide it as effortlessly into a pocket. Some women’s pockets are a concern as usual. That’s not something I’d probably do or recommend anyway, however, considering these devices are notorious for being fragile. The larger-yet-still-small size is actually a benefit. If you buy one of these as your only handheld in 2025, you’re kinda crazy. Buy the MM+ if you’re only in the market for one device. EDIT: Changing my initial rating of 5/5 to 4/5 due to the inconvenience of ordering and returning so many devices in an attempt to get one of good quality. I seem to be experiencing a QA problem with the devices I’m receiving, or maybe Miyoo devices are truly just poor quality in general. After flipping through menus and setup for a few minutes on one of the mini v4 units, I noticed the dpad is a bit janky; it doesn’t always respond. It wiggles a bit too much in its shell cutout, little too loose. It also looks like all of the screws are stripped, like someone considered modding it before deciding to return it. That could actually be what’s wrong with the dpad. Unfortunately, I will be returning the black one. I ordered a purple Miyoo Mini Plus from FINGEREVO before ordering two of the Minis. After learning that Miyoo was discontinuing production of their Mini v4 devices, I decided I should probably order a couple of them to see what all of the fuss was about. They come highly recommended by the retro gaming community, of which I just recently became a member. I had some FOMO and ultimately succumbed to the pressure of the shrinking inventory. The yellow, blue, and retro gray are becoming increasingly difficult to find, and if you do manage to find them, they cost more. I decided to buy the black and white from FINGEREVO. I still don’t quite understand the hype, but they are very cute and pocketable. You can literally take this device anywhere you wish. The MM+ is great too (better in most cases), but the Mini does scratch a certain itch for some. There’s something about the size and functionality of it that will really hit the sweet spot for a particular type of person. I feel like a giant playing games on this thing. It’s both good and bad. If you’re unsure, just order it because once the stock is gone, it’s supposedly gone for good. You can always return it easily through Amazon if you decide you don’t wanna keep it. I returned and reordered multiple devices trying to get my hands on a good-quality unit. Fourth one was the charm.

This thing is RIDICULOUS
I have been out of the game for a very long time regarding handhelds. I do own a steamdeck, but I consider that more of an actual personal computer than a device like this. I'd heard about these kinds of devices years ago, but back then emulators were still wonky, a lot of the hardware was underpowered, and most games couldn't be played decently enough. This thing just took everything i knew and threw it in the trash. From NES all the way up to Ps1, you're playing anything you like, full speed, no throttle, with save state shortcuts and cheats and the whole nine yards. Thing has ate up everything I could have possibly thrown at it so far without so much as a sweat. Now as impressive as that is, this thing is SMALL. When i say small, i mean small small. Tiny small. Smaller than your old game boy color small. Smaller than a gameboy pocket. That's not necessarily a bad thing if your use case is absolute portability, but the thing is that it is SO TINY that playing certain games is just uncomfortable since all the buttons are so close together and the screen being as small as it is. Yeah you can play playstation games, but you're gonna be getting that device upclose and personal to read every now and again. Aside from that little gripe, it's a total dream. The screen itself i was even impressed with, absolutely no viewing angle fade, top notch color (which i read was a problem on the initial run of this particular iteration), no ghosting images whatsoever. This thing came with several goodies too out of the gate. Aside from everything being crammed in a handy carrying case which you already knew you were throwing into your backpack, it has not only a charging cable but 2 screen protectors tucked in there as well. AND a preinstalled sd card with a handful of games to get you started. Don't go expecting any nintendo stuff on here however, you gotta source that yourself. That being said, once you DO source it all for yourself, and even go the extra mile of installing onion OS on this thing, it becomes just so dead simple. the only extra thing you may be looking for are the cheat files for retroarch, but that's easy enough if you already know what you're doing. I love my steamdeck, don't get me wrong. That thing can already do all of this and even more, n64 being the particular exception, but it just isn't portable in the same way this is. You can just this in your pocket and it's smaller than most people's wallets. Break time at work? The easiest thing in the world to bust out. It's incredible how far these kinds of devices have come, and this thing is no slouch whatsoever. and the price? dude forget about it, people would've been paying upward of 200 for this 6 years ago to play half of what it does. Oh and yes, the buttons are all great, and diagonals work wonderfully. It feels almost like a broken in gameboy or super nintendo controller. I can't say enough good things about this thing. It makes me so curious toward the entire retro handheld space now. I hope I get the chance to check out more of these things, and from Miyoo in particular.

Don't buy this product
Useless. Does not work. I bot this, turned it on, tried to play a game and it goes to a black screen or goes back to the home screen. Don't buy this

Incredible little device, with some minor operating system flaws
This is a fantastic little handheld emulator. The LCD screen is very bright and crisp, and the colors look amazing. The form factor is super convenient - the screen is a little bigger than a GameBoy's, but it fits perfectly into a pocket. For this reason, I love that they included two screen protectors, so the screen doesn't get scratched up if you're using it on the go and throwing it in a pocket or a bag. To make it even more perfect for retro gaming on the go, it has a seamless sleep feature, which suspends games and immediately wakes them back up. This reminds me of the Nintendo Switch's sleep feature. It also comes with a very cute little hardshell case, which doesn't actually add all that much volume to it, but does add a lot of protection. The actual device feels surprisingly high-quality. The plastic feels premium, the system has a slight heft to it, and it just feels robust and well-built. The battery life is very good, and the buttons are responsive and feel great. It does have bumpers and triggers on the back, but with its small size these are actually quite difficult to use - this makes it a little hard to play some PS1 titles. Onto software: this is a little bit less impressive. The stock operating system is a little clunky, and navigating your game library is cumbersome. However, I do really like the ability to favorite a small number of games which you can then access quickly. I've also noticed that in-game, my menu button does not do anything. I think it's supposed to bring up a menu; I'm waiting for a software update that might fix this, but you might also just consider downloading a user-made operating system for the device. There are a couple of great ones, and lots of easy guides online for doing this. Finally, I'm very impressed by the number of games this device ships with! I won't ask questions about how Miyoo got the rights to these games, but (for example) my Miyoo Mini came with what I believe is the entire Sega Genesis catalogue on its SD card, as well as a bunch of PS1 classics. I've tested quite a few of these, and they run super smoothly. The device also supports saving, which is great for many of these games. It's also very easy to add your own games to the device - just drag the files to the corresponding folder on the SD card. It even comes with an SD-to-USB adapter for doing this.

One of the all time best Micro Retro Handhelds
The Miyoo Mini is legendary in the retro gaming community, and with good reason. This is the V4 model, and there are periods when you can't get these so you may want to act sooner rather than later if you want one. It comes in a case that's just the right size, it's a semi-rigid case, zipper closure, and this also came with a tiny manual, a screen protector, USB A to C charging cable, and a TF card reader. The community suggests you back up the card that comes with it using a quality name brand, and I agree. The card was 64gig, and had a variety of games but none from the company with the famous plumber for reasons (if you follow the news in the gaming segment you know why). It didn’t matter to me because I have the games from my cartridges on a bunch of systems. This little unit plays up to PS1 games, but since there’s no joystick, the games requiring that are harder to control if at all. Most PS1 games don’t need it, and you’ll know which games you used a joystick with from your personal game collection. This unit has very comfortable and quiet buttons, but it is tiny -- and not comfortable for many people-- especially people with larger hands. My wife says it gets cramped after more than about 20 minutes of play, but I don't have any issues so your mileage will vary. It's quiet enough that I can play it in bed and it does not bother my wife. She found the software easy to understand, but preferred Onion OS when I put it on for testing (v4.3.1-1). That's the other thing about the Miyoo Mini-- and I have an A30 and a Miyoo Mini Plus -- the community OS called "Onion" is fantastic. The people I've introduced to it love it, and it's unique to the Miyoo Mini and Plus models. There are all sorts of guides online showing you how to install it, and it's worth it. That said, I find the current stock OS just fine, and so did my wife in her testing. This charges with the USB A to C cable, and I suggest you use low amp chargers, like from a phone from a few years back, this isn’t a fast charging device and you can damage it. In the pictures I show that the battery is behind a compartment door, so you can change it out without opening the case, but the battery it has should last a long time. I also included a picture of the main menu (stock), and the game systems that come with it (2 images). The device info on the unit shows it has current firmware on the device, shows the RAM, and so forth. One thing I’d like to caution is that all the cheat files were not in English, and I included an image illustrating that. Finally, I included a size comparison with the Miyoo Mini in the middle and a Miyoo Mini Plus on the left and an OG Gameboy Color on the right. I find this screen to be more than generationally better than the old hardware I grew up on, and it’s a cool time to be alive and playing games. This is considered to be kind of fragile, I wouldn't give it to a kid, but I've never personally seen one fail (nor have I seen one dropped in truth). I love this thing!

Miyoo Mini v4 Is A Solid Hit, But Crappy MicroSD Card
Miyoo Mini V4 Handheld Game Console 2.8-inch 750*560 IPS Screen 2000mAh Miyoo-Mini v4 with Portable Case Transparent Black So overall I am not sure how much I need to explain to you how great Miyoo makes little fantastic products. It has perfect hand feel and is tiny in the right way. The battery life is solid for what it is but only if you use OnionOS. It is a real solid value for the money as long as you can get it for a reasonable price. With the fact that there are no more of these being made, the prices are going to go up for nothing else but the nostalgia value. It is highly functional and works great. So for the actual console itself, it is a 5/5. But then comes the card in the console. The card failed right out of the box. Tried to power it on but it would just sit there with a weird flashing screen that would not turn on. So I picked up an extra SD card and transferred all the files over to the new card. It took nearly 3 hours to move 59.1GB. Once I put the new card it, I realized there was no game variety to be had, it had limited playability but that was easily rectified by just switching to OnionOS. Honestly you cannot believe the night and day difference between the two OS's. It really made this little thing into a mighty powerhouse. Honestly pick this up before it's gone. It will be a piece of emulator history.

Nice handheld, but default OS install needs help
Hardware is slick, tight tolerance and well built. It won't say it in the description, but the ROMS are included. There are so many of these on the market now and this one is a solid choice. Why the 4 out of 5 stars? The installed OS doesn't work as intended out of the box. The menu is impossible to get to while in a game and the save/load functionality is inoperable. You really need to load a new OS onto this device to get it functioning as intended. Luckily the hardware and battery are great, with a sharp screen, so it's still worth the money. Just be mindful that if you don't want to mess around with installing an OS, setting it up and downloading new ROMS, this might not be a great fit for you.

It's so small and cute!
When I powered the device on for the first time it showed white scan lines and it wouldn't boot up. I was worried that I got a defective product but then I found out that the 64gb sd card it came with was corrupted. I wasn't expecting to use the original sd card though and ordered a 128gb one prior. It works fine after removing and replacing the original sd card. I got the normal non-onion os version because it was cheaper; installing onionos on it took like 10 minutes. It's perfect and I'm more than satisfied.

Amazing tiny retro emulator handheld
I absolutely love this little device! I adore the fact that it’s so tiny, yet so powerful. And the V4 version has that crisp 560p screen that’s perfect for 3x GBA emulation! I took off a star because the battery life isn’t great, maybe 3h of gameplay per charge.
