Supershieldz (2 Pack) Designed for Garmin Edge 1050 Screen Protector, High Definition Clear Shield (TPU)

The beveled edges of the Garmin 1050 forces you to use a more flexible screen protector. This one is relatively thin and provides sufficient protection. Applying took some time but worked out alright. The first time the protector was applied, there were quite a few bubbles so I partially lifted it back up and set it down again, which worked great. I have one small speck of dust near the edge of the screen but otherwise looks great. Having a protector is a must on an expensive computer like the Garmin 1050.

Poor quality. Way less durable than their tempered glass option for the Garmin 800 series. Installing is a pain.

When I first pulled it out of the package, I felt like the others who reviewed this product: "It's not the same as other Super Shieldz products. I just figured out how to apply the older products with a bubble free result. Now I have to learn a completely different way to do this" with a much thinner product. Back to the old grind of trashing multiple protectors trying to get it right. Anyway, I watched the video tutorial on their website multiple times before making my first attempt. The package instructions were just not adequate. There were a few small bubbles but they disappaered after about 36 hours, just like they said in the instructions. Looks perfect now. No need for a second try.

So far, so good! A bit tricky, but not too difficult to get it done right. Though it appears the film can be applied either direction, I found there was a definite top and bottom edge. Once applied, there remains a 1-1.5mm gap to all the screen edges, so take your time centering as best you can. I had no large bubbles during application, only a few micro bubbles which were so small they could not be pressed out; but they all disappeared within a few days. Not sure how protective this will be, but it is transparent and seems to be adhering well without affecting the touch sensitivity. It did immediately adhere to the beveled portion of my Garmin 1050.

Although it is intimidating and tricky to install, I suspect all of most of the bad reviews are coming from people who messed up the installation. It fits pretty much perfectly and the bubbles do go away. My attached photos are with the screen protector on. The screen on the 1050 is not flat so this TPU option is as good as we’re gonna get. I normally would opt for Tempered glass on anything but with this non-flat screen I think this protector is phenomenal. Could not be happier with it!

I handle all of the screen protector installs for my family and have never had an issue. This install had you remove the bottom portion and then the top portion and then the middle. The bottom portion did not separate from the middle portion. The top portion separated from the middle portion. This caused issues with installing the screen and left marks and bubbles. Update: Bubbles are gone but screen material is still less than desirable.

More than disappointed with these screen protectors. There were no installation instructions, but the process isn’t difficult. There were bubbles after installing but after 2 days, all but 1 bubble did disappear. These plastic, almost rubber, screen ‘protectors’ scratch VERY easily. Simply dragging a finger nail lightly over top will scratch it. 👎👎

Fits perfect and when combined with the silicone case provides great protection for a very expensive bike computer.

The film cutout doesn't match the screen AT ALL, and the quality of the film is not sufficient to protect the screen; it stretches easily during installation, and tore very quickly. Look else where.
