Loved every page of this enlightening book. As a regular visitor to Kerry, have passed through Tom Crean’s home village of Anascaul many times but next time will be sure to pay my respects at his burial site. What an unsung hero he was - thiroughly dependable, humble, positive and given to singing even in the most arduous conditions imaginable - he earned the respect of all who had the privilege to crew alongside him, never faltering in his courage, bravery and sense of true comradeship. What an incredible book ! We must not forget Antarctic Explorers . This time in history must not be forgotten. Well written and documented .

... einer absolut faszinierenden Persönlichkeit. Wenn man die Lebensgeschichte von Tom Crean und seinen Taten liest, merkt man mal wieder wie klein die persönlichen Probleme und Unannehmlichkeiten eigentlich sind!

I totally recommend this book, specially to the young ones. This is about a great and brave man, with a big heart and sense of friendship and loyalty. It is very easy to read, like a Julio Verne's novel!!
