Kept getting hung up and lights would stay on all day...finally clock face has fallen off. DO NOT BUY

I have had this unit installed for less than a week, and it is working. I have it connected to a hot water heater, it activates at 1800 hours and turns back off at 2200, and so far the unit has done what it appears to do. I like to think i know a thing or two about anything electrical, however i would not have known what L1 and L2 meant when wiring anything 220 volt. i spoke with a licensed electrician about two weeks ago and he reference thins so I knew what it meant when i went to wire up the device. There is a spot on the timer for a ground however the neutral does not have anywhere to connect it to. This simply means to put a splicer and make it bypass the timer all together. have had no issues working the timer. Great buy for the money

Update to an earlier review. While this seems to be a good quality product it does not hold up for even a few months. I installed this at the end of last summer for my pool pump. It started having problems turning the switch off after only a few weeks. Now it is not working at all. The clock keeps time and turns the pump on, but it always gets stuck turning the switch off. The mechanism is so difficult to operate that the off tripper will bend and go past the off switch without tripping. I can turn it by hand, but it gets very hard to turn when it reaches the off time. Sometimes it trips the switch, but only when I force it to by hand. I've read other reviews and this is a common problem with this timer. I would not recommend. There are digital timers out there for not much more.

6 days in, no regrets. Nicely painted metal housing, feel of the mechanical wheel is by far easier to work with when setting the time than my old one. Not stiff at all. Vast improvement from my old one. I was concerned with other reviews, and if this review turns regret, I will update. For now, price is great, its housing is connected to my exterior of my house, zero noise. Good luck. For now, I approve this message.

Solid mechanical timer in a solid state world

Just what we wanted and expected. Worked as expected.

Easy to install and very happy with purchase! There’s a copy of operation instructions on the inside of the removable cover for when you need to adjust the timer. See photo. We’ve used several other models over the years to control turning off and on the outside lights at our horse barn, but this model was by far the easiest to set up. Because of the mechanical design, I also feel it’s more reliable for the long term that the digital models, or those with the plastic tabs you move to the inside or outside of the clock.

It replaces one that is 24 years old.

I use it to shut off the Electric hot water tank (3000w) for the overnight period, 9 PM until 6 AM to save money. I noted the Hot water tank cycled several time throughout the night even when not being used! After several months, it does save on the electrical bill, not a lot, it will take a while to pay off the cost of the timer, but it will! Now, if we just get rid of the time change twice a year....

The clock slows down about 3 hours for every 24 hours. There is nt way of adjusting the clock speed. What can be done?
