A beautiful and classic picture book from Eric Carle, the creator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. In this multi-sensory book, children can feel the pictures as well as see them, while they hear or read the easy rhythmic text. Early one morning a little spider begins to spin her web on a fencepost. Alongside the visual excitement of Eric Carle's vibrant collages of familiar animals is the tactile experience of feeling the spider's web as it grows from a simple line into a complex and beautiful creation - a perfect story for reading aloud and sharing. Eric Carle is an internationally bestselling and award-winning author and illustrator of books for very young children. Eric lives in Massachusetts with his wife, Barbara. The Carles opened The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Massachusetts in 2002. It is the story of a spider who chooses to quietly do what might seem as mundane and routine work while everyone else around is trying to distract it with potentially interesting things. In the end it is because of that routine work, it is rewarded. Beautiful illustrations, high quality printing, sturdy board book with touch and feel to ever growing spider's web. Me and my son have ended up reading it many many times together. Review: Amazing - Great book for kids, i didn't know it had sensory illustration too, loved the texture of the spiders web and the spider and fly too! really interesting how all the animals keep asking the spider different questions as she finishes her web. Ending is also very nice. Good quality eric carle is a master at children's books.

Nice book
Nice book with colourful pictures of animals..it contains a number of pages and my 15 months baby loose interest when i read them all. She simply likes to turn the pages and look at the animals and fly on each page. This book is very similar to brown bear brown bear what do you see. So now my baby has three books which are all about animals..brown bear, spider and oh dear :)

Great book for multiple reading sessions
Love all the books by Eric Carle and this one was an instant hit with my 2 year old who wants to read every chance they get. The slight emboss on the pages in the hard cover is a nice touch where my kid likes to feel the web.

Nice cute story by Eric Carle about the busy spider. You can also touch and feel the web that the spider spins. Nice little touch to the book.

One of the best books for every home
Interactive, the spiderweb is a sensory ( we touch it all the time), talks about various other animals, working hard, and how important spiders are( helps alleviate fears)

Not sure it sends the right message
The story is simplay about a spider spinning its web, and no matter what animal approached it to ask a question, it did not reply (repeatedly). My son asked why is the spider ignoring everyone, and I said probably because it is very busy, but it's rude to ignore others nonetheless.
