These worked great for me! I used filtered distilled water and the ice comes out crystal clear. I messed up the first batch and some of the cubes had a flat spot but I have the hang of it now. The ice lasts a long time. Highly recommend!

Easy to use and make ice balls - just no "Large" - I would consider the size medium. The balls are only about 1" diameter. So need 2 per drink.

This makes awesome ice balls using the provided instructions, some of the time. My actual rating is a 3.5. Amazon won't allow that rating. For the price it is a good value. I like not needing a separate funnel. If I owned the company, I would improve this product by adding some type of external clamping system to keep the mold halves held together tightly. I have had mostly good luck getting completely round ice balls, but sometimes the molds separate slightly and leave a thin layer of ice around the ice balls in the space between the mold halves. The loss of water causes the ice balls to have a flat spot on top. I would also make the molded rings that make the trays stackable, deeper. One of mine slid off the stack and broke the handle off when it hit the floor. There are a series of two tabs around the edge of the trays to hold the halves together. They seem to get weaker with time, making it harder to make perfectly round ice balls. If I were using ice balls in a business that being perfectly round mattered, I would probably try a different design. Since I don't care if there is a flat spot and I like being able to quickly make 12 ice balls at a time, this serves my needs.

Works if you follow the directions. I read reviews with people saying things like "it's too hard to fill up that the holes were too small", and "the cubes were not clear". lol You fill only the bottom half tray and then put the top out pushing out excess water. EASY PEASY! Unless you are using "DISTILLED" water your cubes will never be transparent like store bought ice which is manufactured using DISTILLED water. Bottled water, softened water, filtered water and any other variant all contain minerals which is what makes your ice cubes white at the core. DISTILLED water has no trace minerals which is why they are clear. (ICE 101)
