Is the Poly2 worth the money?
I recently bought a Poly 2 and after a somewhat frustrating time getting it set up in Gofigure I can say the sound quality and versatility Poly2 adds to Mojo2 is worth its high cost. The Poly’s blue tooth connection replaces the iPhone cable connection and it works well. However fidelity is significantly better when you use the wifi streaming function from the iPhone to the Poly producing a more open and detailed sound stage. It gets even better if you load your hi res and dsd files onto a sd card that slots straight into the poly, negating the iPhone streaming altogether. You are then playing direct from the Poly/Mojo, only needing an iPhone app to select tracks or playlists (eg 8player, Flacbox). Bit perfect volume control on the Poly is also a step up. Another useful function is hotspot that allows wireless wifi streaming where no wifi/internet exists enabling connection to the iPhone music streaming apps. For mobile listening this set up makes for an excellent and dynamic sonic experience through my Shure SE846 gen 2 wired phones.

The Chord Poly does not directly support Tidal connect
Unfortunately having struggled with the Chord Gofigure App to configure the Poly, I was told by the Chord tech support that the Poly does not directly support Tidal connect. The documentation on the Chord website for the Gofigure app is misleading. As a result I am returning the Poly

Cannot even get a sound
Well, I was really looking forward to owning a Chord product, what a complete waste of time, I have been unable to get the device to play a track from an SD card let alone any other inputs. Designed by software engineers who have no concept of what it's like to be a mere Minion and expect us mere mortals to understand their logic, GOFIGURE Indeed.

Sonically stunning.
It’s a phenomenal piece of hi-fi equipment IF you’ve got a Chord Mojo DAC and you stream Tidal or Qobuz to it. Sorry Amazon but your new HD and Ultra HD files just aren’t anywhere near as good as the other two sites. Now that Chord have released the Go Figure app the set up process for Poly into Mojo and to your WiFi is really easy. I only use mine as a static part of my main hi/fi, so it’s portability sound quality isn’t something I can comment on. I knew in advance of purchase that the Poly (and the Mojo) are battery dependent for power, so need daily overnight recharges if you’re using for 5-6 hours plus, as I do. I’ve owned a few DACs (Chord 64, various Beresfords) and this Mojo plus Poly combo matches or surpasses each one. I did own a fairly high-end Cyrus CD XT Signature transport but once I’d trialled the Poly as a streamer to my Mojo the Cyrus became surplus to requirements. I’d say the Mojo and Poly combo with CD quality or hi-res files is superior to the expensive Cyrus transport for digital playback.

Frustrating but sounds great
I had been streaming music from my iphone through the Chord Mojo to run my Beyerdynamic Amiron headphones and all was good. I did however get fed up with the cable set up and had issues with the apple camera connector which is required for this. I also felt that I was probably losing something in terms of sound quality doing things this way. So...I went and bought the Chord Poly. As you'll see from reviews across the internet, getting the Poly to work is extremely frustrating. I'm sure if you are some kind of audio geek you'll find some satisfaction in the necessary guesswork and internet research required given the instructions are so poor but for me, this isn't really what I expect in this day and age. Maybe I'm just a technophobe, who knows, but it took me a couple of hours of trial and error to get this working. So why all the great reviews of the Poly? Because it does sound great. Of course, sound is subjective but once I got things working I couldn't help but agree with the hype and I could definitely tell there was a sound upgrade compared to streaming direct from my iphone to the Mojo. I also have an ifi hip-dac 2 and the poly/mojo combo blows that away in terms of clarity and depth. I really can't see how I could do better for headphone listening without spending thousands on what would no doubt be very small marginal improvements. Is the sound upgrade and the removal of a couple of cables worth £400 when I could just stream direct from iphone to the Mojo? I sometimes wonder. But then I get it working (often after faffing about with the required third party software) and I don't worry about it. Worth me saying there is other functionality in the Poly that I haven't even tried to use (hotspot, sd card) so there is more to it than I use it for. In many ways I am put off from trying due to how frustrating I found the original set up!

Brilliant bit of kit
This is an excellent streamer, easy to use, stable, and of course combines with the superb Mojo 2 DAC to give fabulous sound. This is a giant killer.

Chord Poly is the business
This is a top quality piece of kit. It’s not the easiest to setup (although not too bad). But be aware you need a Chord Mojo for the Poly to work. But it’s a real high end streamer which is Roon ready. Using Roon is a joy

Combined with the Mojo2, these two are the best money spent in my audio journey.
