Evolve Rat Birth Control Soft Bait Sausages – 1.5 lbs | Scientifically Proven Rat Population Control | Not a Poison, Long-Term Population Management (Packaging May Vary)

I know this will sound weird. Here it goes, the property behind us was clear-cut about years ago. All the wildlife was scattered and was (sadly) displaced, including the rats. We ended up with a refuge camp in our crawl space, bike shed, cars, storage... all over our property. I'm sure we had over 40 rats on our quarter of an acre. They were everywhere! And they were having more and more babies! Neighbors had traps out and hired exterminators. It was not helping. So I began looking into solutions. Each rat (Norway rat) will have a litter of 5-12, -7 x per year! Killing them after the fact (not in my DNA) seemed like whack-a-mole. Also, it has something called a "boomerang effect," and the population actually grows! Then I saw a show on how NY is trying to get its rat population under control, and I discovered rat birth control! Gave it a try. The first few months felt very counterproductive, as here I was actually feeding them! Actually, the first year felt counterproductive, and I felt a bit mental. Then the next year, the rats stopped breaking into our storage looking for food, eating my flower bulbs etc. But still, there were a lot of them, and now they were well fed! This is year 3. Here is what has happened: The population is -7 adult rats. I know this because they are super tame and not afraid to come out and allow me to do a head-count. (unless our Jack Russell is out) When they are out, they are easy food for our sparrow hawk and owls. And, I also noticed that the male rat completely defends its territory (AKA, my territory), not letting new rats onto our property. The population hovers around 5-10. Every once in a while, they have a litter (about every 4 months), and we get about 2-4 babies. 1/2 of those typically survive (we have a good amount of predators). The rats on our property now have their burrow and are not getting into my things, my flowers, etc. They keep other rats out (so now they are working for me), and the population is nowhere near 40+! Still, does it feel weird to feed them this sauceage thing? Yes, I know I hand out more sauceages every night than recommended... about 2-3/night, but they literally ask for their saucage every night! We have this thing now, this understanding. and it's just ... different. It works, takes time, and requires a shift in thinking. Also, while the population shrinks and is kept under control, securing the human spaces is super important. I.e., We had our crawl space closed off, all the little cracks and spaces they could get into, we put a stop to that as well. It works. You will feel weird. But it works.

I bought Evolve Rat Birth Control Soft Bait Sausages expecting population control. What I didn’t expect was to accidentally establish a tiny rodent socialist republic behind my shed. These sausages don’t poison, don’t murder, and don’t spark dramatic soap-opera deaths. Thank the gods! I don’t want to live with mice but I don’t want to murder them and poison other wildlife! Instead, I calmly introduced the concept of collective responsibility to the field mouse community that like to patrol the perimeter of my abode. No more unchecked capitalism of reproduction. No more surprise litters. Just long-term, sustainable population management. From each according to their appetite, to each according to their uteruses remaining blissfully empty. The field mice probably still show up, still snack politely, and still live their nocturnal little micey lives, only now without the relentless pressure to out-breed one another. Frankly, I’d guess they are much calmer. More reflective. Possibly reading tiny manifestos. ⚠️ Important Side Effect Warning: After a few weeks, you may hear faint but unmistakable celebrations coming from the shadows. That’s not wind. That’s the sound of pregnancy-free female field mice toasting their newfound bodily autonomy. Tiny clinks of invisible champagne glasses. Occasional squeaks that sound suspiciously like “solidarity.” Pros: •Not a poison •Long-term population control •Ethically confusing but emotionally satisfying •Promotes rodent liberation & family planning Cons: •You may feel like a benevolent overlord •The mice might unionize next In summary: if you want to control field and deer mice without violence, without guilt, and with a dash of ideological satire, this is the product for you. (I use a bait station weighed down because the raccoons love these and will eat an entire sausage) Five stars for humane pest control and for accidentally running a most progressive program in my backyard.

I find that most of the time the birth control is eaten. And used at a reliable rate of feeding it does reduce the rodents in my barn. It is expensive! I throw down a few sausages 1 or 2 xs a week. I really refuse to us poison. So I do recommend this product

Didn't work at all! I have been putting this stuff out for 45 days and am seeing increased signs of rat activity. I thought to myself "Well, they are just getting larger and dependent on this food" then we find some droppings under the hood of our car and the mechanic finds a LITTER of rats!! Pretty tough to have a litter if you're infertile. Total scam product. Their website cites no studies and doesn't give any instructions aside from "keep buying it and you should notice like maybe some fewer rats eventually" Does a rat make this? Unbelievable

Working well so far. No big spring explosion of rats so far after 3 months of use. This is big improvement over last year when we had to kill over 14 rats in our yard.

I had a HUGE rat problem in my backyard (I'm talking 10 to 15 rats). It was so bad that one of my neighbors who had complained about my rat problem, actually called the "Health Department" on me. The Health Department sent me letters threatening to fine me for $1500 if I didn't address the problem quickly. But I just didn't have the heart to kill the rats. So I browsed the internet looking for an alternative to killing the rats. I searched and searched the internet until I ran into this product. Although I was a little hesitant at first about buying this product due to its price, I decided to give it a try anyway, as I had no other option available to me and didn't want to get fined. So I ordered this product and bought some “bait stations” to put this product in. Evolve birthcontrol comes in the form of sausages to make the product taste and smell appetizing to rats. Soon after receiving this product, I started putting it in the bait stations that I had bought for it. I then placed the bait stations in my back yard. The rats refused to eat the product at first, so I tried luring the rats to the Evolve sausages by putting little pieces of bread covered with peanut butter in the bait stations. I covered the Evolve sausages with peanut butter as well. Pretty soon, they started eating the Evolve sausages and even seemed to like them. After giving the rats these Evolve sausages for about three months, I noticed that their numbers didn't seem to be on the rise anymore. Although the manufacturer of this product only recommends this product to be given to the rats for four weeks to make them infertile, I decided to give it to them for three months to ensure that all 10 to 15 rats got a sufficient amount of the birthcontrol. About two months later, I noticed that their numbers seemed to be dwindling. I read online that a rat can live anywhere between 8 to 12 months and since these rats had already lived in my backyard for a few months, I knew that they didn't have long to go. Today, seven months later, my property is completely rat free. Not one rat left behind on my property. And the neighbor who had called the Health Department on me, tried to apologize to me for reporting me, but I wouldn't give him the time of day because he broke the good neighbor policy by "ratting" on me. Anyways, I got rid of the rat problem in my backyard WITHOUT KILLING EVEN ONE RAT. And I believe that God is happy with me for that.

The directions say it may take 7-9 months & to check activity daily, so it’s WAY too early to tell. But they’ve been scarfing 12 sausages a day! On the other hand, I’m not scooping up dead rats (UGH!) & nothing else is being killed. Well, it’s been several months & finally opened the shed for the spring. Turns out, instead of eating it, they’ve been STASHING it! Saving for next winter? Waiting till it’s sufficiently moldy? I thought there was nothing they wouldn’t eat? Can they smell the hormone? 😡

I used this Evolve product last year when I was having a terrific mice problem. I guess they were producing babies as I was catching them in the traps and just couldn't get ahead of the population! Well this product completely turned the situation around. I can't say how many months it took, but suddenly no evidence of even one mouse in the house! I didn't have any Rats, so don't know how effective that would be. I saw very few dead mice, that I anticipated would happen as they aged. I did see some very young ones, a couple of times. I truly believe the Mothers must have left when they weren't producing babies. I don't know what their lifespan is, but I would have expected some adults to be around for a while to the end of their normal life cycle. I did have some traps out for a while. Even so, this product clearly made the difference in clearing them out. I was shocked when I realized they were all gone. I cleaned their mess up and no mess returned, and didn't see any running around for my Rat Terriers to have to chase, and believe me if a mouse gets in the house they'll whine and pace the floor, until it gets caught, but these Deer mice were very smart, so I'm glad they loved those little sausages! They were quick to find and devour them. It was much less painful placing the sausages, than setting and clearing traps. I used a plastic strawberry container, clipping out spacers between the holes on the end, and the mice loved the idea. Mice love to get on tables and furniture, so there was no chance the sausage would roll off to the floor where a dog could get it.

I'm so happy to be able to finally buy this in the UK! I'd previously spent £60 getting it imported from the US as my evil neighbour had poisoned my family of 3 hedgehogs and my rescue birds by throwing rat poison everywhere. It makes no sense that poison that takes days to erode an animals veins and arteries in excruciating pain is available in supermarkets in the UK yet this wasn't. I can say in the year since using this I'd only seen a few elderly ratties plodding around, living out their natural lifespan before dying off... no newbies. This product is groundbreaking in humane population control. I'm thrilled to be able to buy it in the UK. I hope councils start to use it. Make poison illegal!
