Darker and saltier than proper shiro miso.
It's very dark for shiro miso and not with the same sweetness or lightnes. Disappointed and can't return it.

i ordered this and the dark miso and they arrived and were out of date !

Country of origin China not Japan
Product details said region of origin was Asia and that it was a 'Product of Japanese Cuisine'. I did not see anywhere that the true country of origin was China. This information should be readily available to Amazon customers before ordering.
