General Tools 78P Replacement Point for General Tools 78 Heavy Duty Steel Automatic Center Punch

Seats well in my ole auto-center punch. Threads seem tight and well formed. I had to oil my center punch to get the deep indentation I expected, not the tips fault, mine.... The tip stays sharp for multiple uses so far... For the price and connivence of shipping, you can’t go wrong!

I absolutely love India and the Indian people and their work ethic but I prefer made in the US. For a lot of reasons. You can tell the tolerance difference “right off the bat.”

Exact replacement tip. Screws in, I suggest using a tiny bit of thread locker on threads to keep it in.

Useful product but the way they design these tips especially on the smaller ones (#79) is a joke. If you drop it once it breaks. Even a smart phone can take a couple of drops. The threading is too small. At least they give you the entire assembly now with the tip to fix it.
