I don't know what people's beef was with these books. I got both volumes. Everything was in the package. Whatever people will complain. Anyway, this is a great set of books for any dog groomer, it's a comprehensive guide that will walk you through step by step from prep work to bathing to the actual cut itself. I recommend it to any Dog groomer whether they're just starting out or looking to brush up. This one and "Theory of 5" are great books, however, in my opinion, notes from The grooming table is the best choice if you are only looking to get one. Not only does this book go into the cuts, but explains the seven AKC breed types as well as functionality of cuts.

Just finished level one grooming school and got this to supplement my training and my first book, Theory of 5. Having a basic knowledge allowed me to better understand grooming terms and details. I'll be reading as much of this book as I can prior to starting level two, and will have a home at my grooming table.

Like some of you, the reviews had me worried I would be missing pages, but I had all 640. The reviews stating that their book starts at 283 are referring to Volume Two. As shown in my pictures, there are 2 volumes bound by a spiral. Volume Two is the second part of the book. I paid $70 for a new book and got the entire book, volumes 1 and 2, same day. No problems, no water damage, and came completely sealed. Perfect book for groomers, the visual representations help me ten fold! Worth every penny.

I gave this 4 stars because it was so advanced for me and I needed more instructions. Beautiful book but I feel it's for advanced groomers.

Why was only half the book sent? Wasn’t there supposed to be 640 pages? It starts from page 283. Where are pages 1 to 282?! This sucks, I was really looking forward to receiving it. What a disappointment!
