Well built little magnet. Is on my keychain
by the picture of it one would think that the item is made entirely of metal; to got even further, and again, judging by the photo, my impression was that although small, it did appear to be solid and substanitial. Long story short, this just is a cheap piece of plastic with a somwhat strong magnetic encased within. And the semicircular loop used to secure the key ring is plastic and breakable. Maybe it's me but i thought it was as small but hefty piece for metal - not. Edit 12/8/19. Have had this thing on my keychain science day 1. Just a simple item but it certainly stands the test of time. Therefore 5 star rating is in order

I'm confident in it
Update 2 years later and it's still holding my spare key under my car! It's smaller than I thought, but as strong as I hoped. It even arrived with something metal that it picked up along it's way. IT'S NOT A GREAT STUD FINDER. But it can pick up a heavy cast iron skillet. There's no way my "hide-a-key" would do that. I never felt like it was a good idea to use my hide-a-key on the exterior of my vehicle, but I have confidence in this. If it fails, I'll update my review. Update: It's been a month, my key is still holding on tight!

After trying multiple hide a keys I opted for this. The magnet is very strong, I have it on the refrigerator for when I’m using screws/nails and small metal parts of any kind. I can put my key under my car if I go on a trip, or somewhere outside
