MSR Alpine Camping Salt and Pepper Shaker

I am so impressed with this shaker. I travel a lot and like to eat my meal preps as I go. I’m also always trying to reduce single use items like those small salt packets. This was the perfect solution as I can store a good amount of salt with little risk of it spilling in my travel bag. Both sides have a strong fitting gasket that only comes off when you want to remove it to fill. The top flip cap is strong and has not come open on its own. No spills so far! Once you open the cap, there are 2 holes that allow a sprinkle of salt with each tap or shake. Great design so you can control how much you put in your food. It would have been easy to have just been a big hole that pours too much, but they took the time to design this well. The entire housing feels like strong material that won’t crack easily. Seems like it will last a long time. I don’t use pepper, but this would be perfect for both salt and pepper with the 2 separate sides. I just fill both with salt. I bought 2 of these so my wife could have one. Well worth the money and we are very pleased.

Small, fits wherever due to the triangular shape. Lids seem robust. Just what I needed to carry salt/pepper in my workday lunch kit. The lids work well for moisture resistance, easy to clean and use.

This is a great shaker. It seals well at all openings. The o-rings fit tightly and seal perfectly.

I bought this to put in my work backpack. Since it's going to be bumping around in there and be used much more than one would on a single camping trip I'm pretty concerned about it potentially opening in my laptop bag. So far this is almost too secure. One star down because it's a little difficult to open the pour spouts without just taking the entire cap off. Getting the entire cap off is enough work that it seems pretty unlikely that I will do it accidentally so I'm not concerned about that. An additional con is that the caps are identical and don't take the fact that pepper is typically ground courser than salt into account. This causes either the pepper to come out too slowly or the salt to come out too quickly. YMMV

I love sweet tea, but I only order unsweet tea when I'm out and about. I avoid sugar when I can so I've since switched to Stevia. Now I can carry my Stevia and powdered lemon everywhere I go without worrying that I won't be able to sweeten my tea! Not every restaurant has lemons either. And sometimes, I really don't want to use their lemons which is why I carry powdered. Love this little thing. It's perfect. It's the size of a lighter. Fits in my pocket and I can take it anywhere. I put Stevia in one side, my powdered lemon in the other and now I'm always ready for my tea. Can be a little tough to open if you don't have nails, but I would rather it be tough than to open easily in my pocket! Very happy with this.

Salt and Pepper, simple and easy. Good distribution without dumping a bunch at a time, yet you get plenty of what you need.

Shaker is all plastic and the container itself is clear so you can see the remaining level. It is small, the little lid includes a rubber all around to create the seals to prevent moisture come in or the contents to come out. I have used only about 10 times over the last year and the seals holding good, you can see some wear on them but still provide their main function. I leaved the shaker without use for about 6 months with some contents inside and I did notice some moisture formed in the salt; since the salt level was very low I think it was the moisture already inside the shaker since a very small amount of salt got clogged, so yeah pretty good seal. The only thing I would improve is the size of the two shaker holes while they are good size if your pepper is not fine you will be having issues making it go thru and you end up opening the complete lid to get pepper.

Best addition to my lunch box in years! Love this little thing. Buying more for camping & backpacking. Might even stock up now (way early) for stocking stuffers at Christmas. Would recommend.

塩コショウの入れ物として、アウトドア以外でもとっても重宝する相棒のようなやつです。 ランニングした後、野外でよくビールと一緒にコンビニのサンドイッチなどを食べるのですが、塩コショウを一振りするだけで一段上のおいしさが得られます。仕事先での昼食時にも味が足りない時に塩コショウ！ かさばらないサイズなのでできることです。 小さいパックに入った塩コショウもありますけど、私はこれが好きです。 また、他の方も書かれていますが、不用意に蓋が開くことはありませんし、塩が湿気で固まってしまうことも今のところありません（防水ではないようですが） 塩コショウだけででほとんどの料理の味が一段引き立つことをご存じの方は、ぜひこれで持ち歩いてみてください。 友人も欲しがっていました。
