- WONDERBOOM 4 Portable Waterproof Speaker - Blue

I bought this to affix to a Paddle North lake float and it's a perfect match. Our pontoon doesn't have external speakers so I wanted something with good sound that won't sink to the bottom of the lake if my mount disengages. It can get plenty loud and the sound isn't shabby for such a small speaker. I leave it in the default startup sound profile - which it reverts to with every startup. The "outdoor mode" is a wee bit louder and definitely brighter but doesn't anything that can't be obtained with Spotify's equalizer. The podcast mode sounds like an AM radio and I can't envision ever using it unless I want to be reminded how well the default mode is. The speaker has the usual UE build quality I'm used to and so far we haven't run out of juice after several hours of use. This will also make a great travel companion for hotel rooms/pool side listening and Amazon has some nice inexpensive travel cases for under $15. This won't compete with larger speakers for sound quality but for what it is and what I need, the performance and price are unbeatable.

Bought this speaker for my beach trip. Wasn’t worried about water or sand with this speaker. It has a very clean sound, can get pretty loud for its size. Bass is okay, but expected for speaker of this size. The build quality is great, very portable, battery lasted the entire day at the beach and night. Never had a connection problem with Bluetooth either. Overall a great speaker for the price.

I usually don’t give 5 stars when I write reviews, but this speaker deserves it! Don’t let the small size fool you—this little speaker is powerful. The sound is clear and fills the room really well. I also love the color; it adds a nice, stylish touch. It’s small, portable, and sounds great. I’m very happy with it!

Great speaker. I have tried several brands of these bt speakers; Tribit, Soundcore, Harmon Kardon, Bose, B&O and a few others. None compare to this for the qualities I want in a bluetooth speaker. I see it as a personal speaker for listening to music privately and for podcasts. I have a nice stereo system for serious listening, but it's not always convenient to do that. What I found was that there is a lot of sound profile manipulation by the producers of these products favoring bass output, because that's what a large portion of the buying public thinks is "good sound", with the resulting side effects on the rest of the profile.. The Wonderboom might tweak it a little, but not even close to overdone. The sound quality is really solid, including the mids and trebles. Clear and full; undistorted. Bass is solid, but balanced. Clearly present but not obnoxious. That's number one. It is light, and it is the easiest to use of the bunch. The 360 degree sound is a real plus and does fill the room. It is well protected against dust and moisture, and it floats if you drop it in the lake. It is very nicely shaped, easy to pick up, hold, carry , pack. Use it anywhere. It also has zero over compensating frills, like apps and equalizers, which are a total waste of time on something that you just want to work and not have to fuss over. This one does just that, and it has better sound quality than all the others tested, except the Luna 2 and B&O a1, but, at lower volumes it is pretty much indistinguishible.. I've sent one to my son and one to my daughter, who took it to the lake house last weekend and said it was a real hit on the dock and the boat with over a dozen people in the group, whom she said were universally complimentary. It does have two adjustments. The basic mode is "standard'. Push the button once and it gives you an "outdoor boost"; again and you get "podcast mode", which I found not to be necessary, but it does help if there is ambient noise, like, say, a shower. I also tried it in stereo with another unit and it's great. I don't really need that function, but I just might hang onto the second one and do the stereo anyway. These these little guys are affordable enough that you can get two for less than a competitive single unit will cost and you can bet that they'll sound better. Great product. Well conceived, well designed and well executed. A truly great product.

This speaker is bass heavy and I don't know if I hate or loved it. Great for certain music bad for others that doesn't need the additional bass. No way to adjust bass since there are no app for this speaker. The speaker sounds great and it gets plenty loud. Pro: -Setting it up is easy. Out of the box it's in pair mode. Easy pair on the android device. -Great built quality. It is sturdy and well built. Con: -No app to fine tune sound setting -start up and power off noise is loud. No way to adjust that. What more can I say. It sounds great compared to other speakers in this category and price range. Basic, no frill, no overly complicated speaker. It gets to the point. Great speaker when it's on sale. Still great even at the non-sale price.

I was surprised and delighted when I paired it with my phone and this rich, hefty bass rumbled out. I couldn't be happier with the sound quality. The control buttons: on/off, pair, mode, could be clearer for old eyes like mine. For the money, excellent.

Don’t let the size and cuteness of its package fool you. The clarity and power of this speaker is massive. And so darn easy to use. Press + turn it up. Button on top connects to Bluetooth.

This speaker could have been great. I still use it, but I wouldn't buy it again and wouldn't recommend it to others, for two reasons. The primary reason is the volume of the voice that speaks when the sound mode is changed. To others it may be a minor thing and not at all a dealbreaker, but it has not yet ceased to be very jarring to me. When in the shower, I use this speaker to listen to audiobooks, so every time I turn it on, I switch to "Podcast Mode". I suppose because it is waterproof, it only has sealed buttons that must be repeatedly pressed to cycle through options, rather than switches that one can "set and forget". I wish the speaker had memory for the last configuration used, because without that or toggle switches, this means that every time I turn it on I have to press the button on the bottom of the speaker twice so that it cycles to my preferred sound mode setting. Which in turn means that every. single. time. it shouts out "OUTDOOR BOOST!", "PODCAST MODE!" Because no matter how low the volume is turned down, the sound mode is completely independent and has one volume level: SHOUTING. Okay... maybe it's not truly shouting, but it's very loud and cannot be altered. As I said, it's quite jarring. The secondary reason I'd hesitate to recommend it to others is that I've noticed the sound cuts out every once in a while. This is with the paired source only a foot or two away, and I've never had the sound cut out like this with any other bluetooth speaker, so it seems like the issue is with this speaker itself. It's too bad, because if it wasn't for those two complaints, I could really love this speaker. It's waterproof, which obviously was a big selling point for me and my "I don't want to waste listening time with such mundane things like a shower" attitude. It's compact and has a small sturdy loop at the top which makes it easy to carry around and hang--you guessed it--in the shower (from a sturdy in-shower towel rack, using an S-hook). It's not a cheap lightweight speaker, so I wouldn't trust a suction-cupped device to hold it. And despite its small size, it is easily loud enough, with no distortion, to hear clearly over noisy things like the shower or running fans. I wish I could give it another half-star, because listing all these positive qualities almost makes me think three stars is not enough. But I wish the review that led me to buying this speaker had warned how loud that sound-mode announcer voice is, and with that and the sound cut-outs, I just can't give it four.

Best investment ever. Loud and waterproof

This is a great speaker. It gives out really good sound. I find if you want more bass to put it in front of a wall or something like that. Haven’t used outdoor boost mode or podcast mode yet so can’t comment on that!

Great portable speaker ! So far, it has surpassed all the other ones I've tried. Very good sound with good bass for it's compact size. It's also waterproof and falls proof, and it floats, which is great. It seems very well made and it looks good too! Definitely my favorite speaker, I would recommend and I liked it so much I bought a second one to pair with the first one I bought. You want a solid speaker with great sound, that you can bring anywhere with you, this is it! FYI it's been a year that I bought the first one and I use it regularly (in the shower, the car, doing the dishes...) and it still looks brand new and performs as well as day 1!

This product is good for just small room sound

Love it! Works great even in the hot tub!! Good sound, good durability, good volume, good battery life!
