I won't bother enumerating the features of these great little radios as there are plenty of other people doing so already. Instead I will tell you that I found the quality of the radios to be much better than I thought they would be. They have a very solid feel in the hand and, more importantly, work very well within the expectations you should have for a product like this. (It is a 5 watt handheld, not a base station and should be evaluated as such.) With the included short antennas (which are tuned for the GMRS band) I have about the same sensitivity as I do on the superhetrodyne GMRS radios I have been using for several years. As these radios are SOC (System On Chip) that's pretty good performance. I was also quite pleased with the reception I got on frequencies outside of the GMRS area. I am able to monitor aircraft band without having a specific aircraft-band antenna as well as various other bands (even including commercial FM). The manufacturer's programming software or the free CHIRP software make it pretty easy to bulk program the memory locations and these H3s can be programmed through a USB port. If you've ever used a Kenwood cable to program you will really appreciate not having to mess with setting that up and using it. You can also program using your cell phone over Bluetooth instead of a cable! I purchased a multi-pack and developed a minor problem with one of the radios after using it for a few days. This kind of thing happens in electronics--no manufacturer can test the radio for too long. At some point they have to ship them to the customers and sometimes a part will fail after being used for some number of hours. What matters is how the company handles this kind of thing. I contacted TIDRADIO via email (the phone number on the customer support card did not work) and received a response within 24 hours. I explained the situation and I received a replacement radio in less than a week. Excellent response time and all I could ask. Reading other people's incidents with this company I see that this the rule rather than the exception and I'm pleased with my interactions with them.

Attention hams, this radio beats the Boafeng UV-5. It offers spectral purity, unlike many other Chinese radios. Easy to program via chirp or bluetooth. It offers wide frequency range with more memories than you'll likely need. The 2 batteries which are included are a plus, even though battery life is excellent, having a second one sure helps. The radio is solid, built with rough use in mind. Transmissions are crystal clear, and there's adequate audio output. The included antennas are great, but performance can be enhanced with a better antenna. Enjoy!

I've owned ten different models of HT's from all of the major manufacturers as well as some minor ones. While my favorite is still the Kenwood F6 because of its 220 capability, ease of use and wide mode options, I recently was directed to try an TIDradio TD-H3-Ham. I am quite impressed, Compared to the first generation of inexpensive Chinese HT's, it's very easy to use even for a new ham. Features are extensive including simple charging and programing using the supplied USB cable. You can charge the battery pack when it's not attached to the radio as well. Memory programming of the 200 memories can be done by Chirp using the supplied cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth using a free smartphone app. And with the latest firmware, you can even clone a second radio with a few clicks. The display is color and easy to read, the unit is small but feels good in your hand, battery life is long, received and transmitted audio are excellent, and transmit harmonics appear well suppressed. Single button pushes enable scanning of NOAA Weather channels and a useable flashlight/strobe. The supplied antenna is reasonably good and I can hit most repeaters with ten miles of me. A Comet SMA24J will fit it for extended range. And at $40 for a complete unit ($45 with a second battery pack) it's something worth trying out.

I recently got my GMRS license so my family could stay in communication. I travel all over Arkasas and the US. There are times Cell service just isn't available. By using GMRS and repeater stations there is hardly anywhere that I am not reachable. The radios that I ordered turned out to be HAM band,but the TD-H3 is easily changed to GMRS or fully unlocked. One of the radios would not tone the repeater, and sometimes seemed to be off frequency by 0.0125hz. Customer service was great and had t new one at my door the next day. I have Bafong 5MR, RadtelRT-10W and Wacheng K5 that I like alot. But the build and size of the TD-H3 is fanominal. Well built touch little guy. And with the one button frequency match it is perfect for my trips ti customers plant. I can connect with their maintenance radios and just carry mine, not their big bulky Motorola or Kenwood. And I have personally used these radios over 19 miles in the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas without a repeater. So to sum up, we'll built, small and compact, packed with features, and great tranmisions. Oh and one of my favorites, the ability to program via Bluetooth from your phone. Outstanding. Recommend over all the rest with the best customer support.

If you like tinkering with radios, this is the radio for you. You can install custom firmware on it that will unlock more features. It does take some tweaking and the program software for the custom firmware a bit buggy. Make sure you do a backup of the stock firmware if you ever wanted to flash it back.

Bought this awhile ago and have been using it constantly since. It works amazing. It hears everything Id expect it to hear. Super user friendly, The app makes super easy and quick on the fly programming. The battery lasts me all day with Transmitting. Range is what you would expect with a ham radio. Super durable, I couldnt begin to tell you how often i dropped it. Power usage is super low and its a great buy for the price

I had this radio set up next to 5 other different GMRS radio brands and this was the only one that received any stray radio transmissions . I am very impressed by these little radios . I think they also sound very good . I think they are very well made and worth their very reasonable price . I highly recommend them .

Fantastic little handheld. Works great for my local repeaters. It also can be set to not just be a "HAM" radio, but also for "GMRS" or "BOTH". Easy to program by multiple ways, but using CHIRP remains the best. The super extra best thing about this is it's USB compatiblity. It's so great to be able to charge my handhelds with USB vs. 'finding' the right compatible dock. Glad an inexpensive radio finally makes it to the year 2022 and have this method of charging. Their is also a separate USB plug on the radio itself, this one is for "PROGRAMMING ONLY", however, that's great as it makes CHIRP programming easy... while it remains compatible with the legacy 2 prong plug, USB Is way better (and faster). Frequency find function is good too... Press and old the "*" key to find the nearest transmitting frequency assuming the target is within a few dozen feet of you. The manual is well written (for a China product), with no severe problems. Also, there are many youtube and other online videos providing further support for this radio. Anyways, definetly a few steps up over the common Baofeng. Good job TIDRADIO. I'll probably pickup a few more ...
