Very Useful, Glad I Upgraded to WiFi!
This is the fourth RainPoint product Iโve bought and I havenโt been dissatisfied yet. I own the manual timers (single and dual) and have been happy with the way they work - easy to set up, easy to program, works well - but wanted to try a WiFi enabled timer so I could adjust timing and turn on/off without having to go outside, especially to turn it off if rain is anticipated. The cost was decent too for the hub and timer pairing. Overall this is a great product. It was easy to set up the hub with the WiFi and the timer with hub. It took less than 5 minutes from box to set up. The hub is a little large which was disappointing but it does have a built in outlet so you donโt actually lose an outlet. Connection to the hose bib was easy, it makes a tight fit with no leaks. I applied a little plumbers tape out of habit. Brass fitting is a good feature too, making it a more solid product. The RainPoint app took a few minutes to get used to, it wasnโt as intuitive as I would have liked but perhaps will get easier over time. I like that it has three different schedules you can set and go back and forth between them as needed throughout the season. You donโt have to go out and set it manually and then remember your settings for the next time. The manual on/off (with time setting) was useful for setting up the sprinkler. You can turn it on and off from time phone without having to go back to the hose bib while youโre trying to position your sprinkler which is very convenient. The on/off button in the app had about a second delay though which was unexpected and a tad annoying but still better than going to the hose bib multiple times. I havenโt seen the intelligent weather response yet so I canโt speak to that feature. But I was able to turn it off manually with sprinkling rain from the phone. I also canโt speak to how well the hub works with multiple timers, and hub placement between multiple timers, but I plan to get one or more timers since this product has been so good thus far!

Well made, reliable WiFi water timer
I have several planters surroundingy house. Each one has been plumbed with a hose spigot, so I wanted a WiFi water timer that I could change based on the season/need via an app on my phone. After buying the first one, I was so impressed that I now have four installed to separately control each planter area. They work flawlessly. They consistently maintain their WiFi connections. I have had them set up for over a year now, and I have not had to change any of the batteries. I love that I can water by time or quantity, which helps to reduce water consumption. And because watering is now consistent, the plants look great!

No true on off soak cycle for hours
If you want to run 10min on 30off to soak for 3 or 4 hours you cannot. You could set a max of 3 plans with 3 10 min cycles which would not equal the water/soak time of 3 or 4 hours. There cheaper blue one can do it. And if you use the mist setting which will stay on for up to 12 hrs the longest you can turn on is 59 seconds. The second pic is impossible to set on this unit/first pic.

Good Quality - Easy to Install and operate using the App and WiFi
I was looking for a solution to add water to my swimming pool when we are away from home this works perfect I can set a schedule or manually select a timer to add exactly how much I want to add - I also monitor the flow using a camera to ensure it turns on and off. I am very happen with all my purchases from this company I definitely recommend their productsโฆ

When it worked, it was great! But it failed after less than 2 months of use. (Itโs working again!)
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The functionality and features of the โsmartโ water timer, along with so many positive reviews, were the deciding factors that compelled me to purchase itโnow, as of today, twice. Functionality: As I just noted: Earlier today, I just purchased the timer for the second time. Had to buy a second one because the first unit failed. More about that in a minute. When it was working, it functioned well with the app. Simple and easy to use, intuitive, could program in different watering schedules, etc. It did everything we needed it to do. That is, until it stopped working. Two days ago, I received a low-battery warning on the app that urged me to install fresh batteries. When I removed the battery โpackโ this morning (the unit has a pack or cartridge that holds four AA alkaline batteries), a bunch of water poured out. After I dried out what I could, I installed four new batteries, but the unit would not power back on. I tried two other sets of new batteries and got the same result. I called Rain Point customer support and was basically told the unit had failed and they would send us a new one, free of charge (which is great). BUT I was also told it would not arrive for a few days at least. That did not work for us because we are going to be traveling in and out of town for the next couple of weeks and need a functioning timer (it controls the drip lines to three large beds of tomato plants and herbs, which could die if they are not watered for an extended period of time). So โฆ I ordered a second one via Amazon, with delivery expected tomorrow. If the second unit functions properly for the rest of the growing season, Iโll update this review and let you know. I will also likely increase my rating to five stars because, when it was working, it was great and did exactly what we needed it to do. I would also note that Rain Pointโs customer support team was easy to contact (you can speak to a human on the phone), attentive and understanding, and I give them props for sending me a new unit free of charge. From the many positive reviews, I donโt get the sense that these stop working all that often, so weโll see how the replacement unit performs. However if the second one fails too โฆ well, โfool me twice,โ I guess. And Iโll let yโall know. UPDATE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW: So the first Rain Point Smart Water Timer I ordered (and that I reviewed above after it โfailedโ) is working again. As I noted above, after the first one โfailed,โ I bought a second one, which arrived yesterday afternoon. As I was preparing to activate the second one through the app, a little voice in my head said, โHey, try the first one again, just to see if it may work now after sitting a couple days.โ SOOO โฆ I did. This time, however, before I re-inserted the battery pack back and tried to get it working, I โdeletedโ the first one from the app, effectively wiping it off the app and Rain Point account. Then I put the battery pack back in and โฆ it powered on and, after a few minutes, connected to the hub and the app. Itโs working again! Iโm not sure why it would not power on after replacing the dead batteries the first, second and third times, but I do know that I followed all the pairing and activation steps provided by Rain Point, and it would not power on. AND I even called their customer support team (which is VERY GOOD, I would note) and could not get it working. BUT โฆ after deleting it digitally from the app and re-inserting fresh batteries, it powered right up and reconnected to the app. Appears to be working great again! So the lesson here appears to be: If your Rain Point Smart Water Timer wonโt power back on after replacing dead batteries, try deleting the timer from the app and reconnecting as if it were a brand new timer. That worked for me. Because of that, I would now give the product Four Stars instead of two. Iโm withholding one star because nowhere do the productโs troubleshooting recommendations suggest deleting the timer and reconnecting it if it wonโt power on after replacing dead batteries. My instincts (and years of experience with other electronic devices that operate via internet connectivity) told me to try the old โdelete and reconnectโ solution.

Reliable
I have been using this water timer for more than two years and it has performed far better than any other brand I have tried. The main issue I have had with similar products is that they fail after a hard frost or after a full season outdoors. This one has held up through multiple winters, temperature swings, and daily use without any leaks or mechanical problems. The connection stays tight, the controls respond reliably, and the WiFi features continue to work without needing constant resets or repairs. The scheduling is easy to manage and has made yard maintenance much simpler. It delivers consistent performance and has proven to be more durable than timers that cost even more. After years of use, I can confidently say this is an excellent choice for anyone who needs something dependable that will last through real weather.

Great Product, Great value for your money
This is the second water timer I have purchased from rain point. I purchased one 2 years ago and was happy with the performance. The only issue I had with it ( itโs minor) was the connection as they were plastic. I had to move the timer from front to back so had to be careful when connecting. With this new model RainPoint upgraded the connection to metal fittings. So no worry of cross threading. This was easy to setup in a few minutes, this timer has a lot of features, you can set up schedules, rain delay, tracking the amount of water used, and more I told my son about the RainPoint water timer as they travel a lot, they love it as much as I do. Being able to program when they are out of town, their lawn is looking great and their gardens looked great also. They now have 2 of the timers. I did have a problem with my first water timer and contacted their customer service, they were able to help me diagnose the problem. The timer had failed, but they had a replacement to me within a week. The big plus is they offer an extended warranty for 5 years. RainPoint will be my first choice everytime and my recommendation for anyone wanting a great quality water product.

Time will tell
I could not get any of the apps on the android to successfully setup the wifi hub for this. I was about to return it before I starting doing a deep dive into the setup. I had to do a tcpdump on my dhcp server to find that it was throwing errors when it was given an ip. I forced a static address and then it was finally able to be setup. Maybe the firmware needs an update but If I wasn't able to figure it out myself it would have been returned,. The apps suck in general and require an 'account' to use which is ludicrous. Nowhere on the product page does it say requires 4 AA batteries. Wonder how long they will last.
