Robust and easy to use
Mum has always struggled with technology, and despite attempts to do it there’s no chance she’s going to cope with a smartphone. Instead a regular mobile phone like this one is her best option. With arthritic hands the buttons need to be well-sized and easy to press, and she’s coped well with these ones. The menus on it are fairly simple, and better than they were on old non-smart phones that I used myself. I like that it’s possible to keep things very simple especially if someone else does the setting-up and adds the contact list etc. Build quality is much better than expected, and it feels reassuringly robust without being bulky. Battery life has been good too, and a second battery is included which we’re pleased about. It’s worth noting that some dexterity is needed to change the battery, and even to insert SIM or memory cards, but that’s not unusual with a mobile phone. It’s also important to know that a small piece of protective insulation tape is installed over the battery’s contacts from the box, and it must be removed before the phone will switch on. In terms of appearance this phone looks good, with a smart appearance. I’d certainly be happy to use it myself, and in fact I think it would be an excellent choice of phone for anyone needing a robust model. This one is more likely to survive daily life in a rugged environment than any smartphone I’ve used.

It got a secret web browser
A little expensive and slightly larger than what I was looking for, but it is tailored to olde people. Battery a bit of. Disapointment as it seems to last less than a week with 2 sims running and only a few phome calls. In comparison, my previous phone, Q Mobile purchased in Pakistan in 2014, still gets at least 10 days and is considerabl smaller build though the screen is about the same size. One interesting "hidden feature" is that there is a Opera internet browser that I can only open by clicking links received in text messages. I have no idea if there is any other way to access it as I cant find it mentioned in the menu anywhere.

Good
A good simple and easy to use phone. Works well and the display is a good size. Useful to have multiple SIM cards too.

Durable, senior-friendly, and reliable basic phone with great features
The AGM M9 4G Rugged Basic Cell Phone is a fantastic choice for seniors or anyone needing a simple, durable phone. The large buttons and large fonts make dialing and texting easy, and the fast-dialing option is a helpful feature for quick access to important contacts. This phone is impressively rugged, with IP68/IP69K waterproof and drop-proof ratings, so it can handle outdoor conditions and accidental drops without any issues. It also includes convenient extras like FM radio, a bright torch, and 3 card slots (two SIMs plus an SD card), which adds flexibility. The two 1000mAh batteries ensure extended usage, which is great for emergencies or outdoor use. It’s well-designed for older adults and anyone who values simplicity and durability in a phone. Highly recommended!

nice and rugged
straightforward, durable phone, and overall, it has been a good choice. The large buttons and easy-to-navigate menu make it ideal for someone who wants to avoid complicated smartphones. The speaker volume is also excellent, ensuring that calls can be heard clearly. a key feature for elderly users. The phone's rugged construction is another highlight. It feels solid in hand, and the fact that it’s more waterproof than most standard phones gives me peace of mind when it’s being used outdoors. For those looking for simplicity, this phone is perfect, no unnecessary apps or complex features, just calling and texting functionality. The additional standby time due to the large battery is also a bonus, although availability of replacement batteries upon quick inspection and warranty may be a concern.

Fantastic value, straight forward to use, decent fm radio
Chunky sized phone in the candy bar design like the old phones used to be, measures 17mm thick and 142mm x 59mm length and width. Put beside my Nokia phones it's a giant in comparison but the advantage is everything is less fiddly to use like the buttons, they are nice and big, with a good feel and subtle click when you press them. The screen is easy to read in daylight and is a good size. Loudspeaker on the back is surprisingly good! Plays FM radio without needing headphones attached as it has a built in antenna, which amazingly gets better reception than my Nokia phones tuning into stations. Usb-C charging, and 3.5mm for your headphones. Dual sim, unlocked to any network, and up to 128gb micro sd card slot. Minor negative, whether your charging the phone or using the 3.5mm jack, the plastic cover hiding these connections needs to be removed for access, which means it's very vulnerable to getting broken as it held on by a very thin piece of rubber tubing, if your phone is in your pocket it's highly likely to get caught and yanked off. These covers over the bottom ports and inside the back of the phone where the battery/sim/micro sd card is, have o-rings on them for waterproofness. Spare battery included, a great addition! I've used the phone for 3 days, about 15mins of phone calls, 3 hours of fm radio mixes via headphones and loudspeaker, and general playing with phones settings, and it's now showing 2/5 on battery indicator. For my use I'd be charging every 3-4 days, it would last you a lot longer as a spare phone if it's on standby most the time. But the benefit of having replaceable battery is you can swap it out with the spare in 30 seconds and have another full battery to use! Worth pointing out that you can only charge the battery when it's in the phone, there's no other way to charge it. Has lots of interesting extras like, in settings, call settings, others, you can set it to auto record voice calls, or auto switch on/off schedules etc. Torch is bright, I've set one of the 3 customisable shortcut keys to switch it on/off. Texting is okay, it's not very good with punctuation like capitalising the first letter of a word or name it needs you to jump back and forth into the settings to change from lower case to upper, then back again. Also it doesn't remember new added words, if a person's name isn't in the dictionary you have to manually edit it every time! There is no way to save new words, I've emailed AGM who make the phone and have yet to get a reply about this. The included instructions are very basic and have a few mistakes in them like labelling the wrong part of the phone with a description of what that part is. I found I can't change the radio volume once the phone auto locks, it needs unlocking before the up/down keys function. Being 4G and VoLTE is excellent for clarity of calls and general futureproofness now 3g has gone(and in the next 10 years, 2g will be disappearing as well). Overall this phone is huge value for money, the build quality is good for being plastic, 4G VoLTE and has bluetooth connectivity, FM radio and good loudspeaker, spare battery, texting is easy enough as long as your not too worried about punctuation you can write messages fairly quickly, the dictionary gets the words correct almost all the time, I make less mistakes texting than I do on my Samsung smart phone!

I am super impressed with the quality of the AGM M9. I did have an issue where I couldn't connect outbound calls, but after restarting the phone it fixed it. This device takes me back to my high school days, using a phone like back then is such a pleasure. It has a basic feature set but I love it. I love the design, it's more general purpose (not obviously aimed at seniors for example). I think anyone could benefit from this device, all kinds of people in all walks of life. One thing I do recommend: if you run this device and also have a separate smartphone, and you have two contact numbers and people are adding this phone to your contact entry, be sure to turn off RCS on your main smartphone as this has hijacked messages meant for the M9, and they were instead sent to my 'main' phone.

Broke right after the return period. The phone worked ok but then we got a error code and after doing everything we could to fix it, it didn't work.
