This is an ideal replacement for those energy guzzling halogens! These bulbs are perfect for lighting in boats, motor homes and caravans; or low voltage reading lamps and luminaires. This G4 lamp gives the light equivalent to a 10W G4 halogen. The SMDs are arranged with 2 each on 4 sides and 1 on the top. Review: Flaming nuisance, and a message to all sellers. - I had my first one of these in a bed side lamp, it emits a bright "cool" white light approximately equal to 10W halogen. It was used for about 30 - 60 minutes a night. After a fortnight or so on turning the lamp on the LED assembly flickered briefly and then burst into flames emitting copious quantities of smoke that had an awful "burning resin" smell that hung in the air for about 48 hours. A replacement was sent and this has now matched the useage of the first one so I hope the previous experience was a one off, nevertheless the lamp will never ever be used unattended. On returning the LED assembly I was told to check the transformer in the bed side lamp for LED compatability. Suppliers, you cannot have your cake and eat it! You can sell these units as a replacement - your word not mine - for halogen G4s OR you can sell them with the advice that their use also requires the purchase of a £50 driver. You cannot sell them as a "plug and play" replacement and then when they almost set someone's house on fire announce it's the customer's fault for using the wrong transformer.
