Unbelievably cute, very well-made, and my cats love it.
This is a wonderful, ingenious toy. The way it works is that, once put together (it's really just a matter of folding a single, ready-shaped piece into the right form and then setting the second interior piece inside), is that one side of the toy is easiest for the cat to retrieve treats or toys from, based on where the various holes and "walls" are, and then from front to back the holes and walls are aligned in such a way that the items you put inside are trickier to get out. This was a great idea as you can start your kitty at the basic level and then, if he or she becomes bored or too good, you can work your way towards more challenging rewards. The box is sturdy, it's kind of like a thick shoebox but a bit flatter and more spread out (I'd estimate the box to be about 3-4 inches high, a foot wide, and a foot and a half long). It's compact enough, folds tightly and is supported by the interior "walls" so it should support most cats stepping on it. It's designed for that, after all. The box itself is very pleasant and cheerful, decorated with grass and butterflies and mice, and it - as well as the colorful pamphlets that come with it - are loaded with personality. My favorite was probably a drawing of the box showing the different difficulty levels with a scrawl on the easy end that read something like "dis side so ez even dog cud do it. - Cat". It's adorable. The package itself is just as cute, so much so that I won't even be throwing it away. It also includes helpful info such as humane alternatives to declawing, as well as the fact that a portion of the sales go to support animal charities. This toy is just win-win-win. Cats are fussy so remember, not every one will like every toy. If yours doesn't like this one, don't be discouraged and try various treats or various tricks (one of mine, for example, kept nosing the box along the floor to try to figure out how to get the treat and was happier once I put it in a place that was less mobile). And if your cat just won't accept it at all, please don't throw it away. Give it to your local shelter where any number of cats would be guaranteed to love it. And try not to be mad at the company - the effort they put into this toy is evident. It's a charming item made by people who clearly love cats as much as we do. Remember, cats are picky! For whatever it's worth though, mine very much enjoy the toy and I'm glad that I got it for them. Great for sharpening hunting instincts, great way for parceling out treats, food or toys, sturdily (and adorably) made, and a price point that's pretty much perfect. I love it.

Best Cat Puzzle!
This is the best puzzle box ever. As soon as I set up the box my boys were hunting for their treats. Kept them busy and entertained. The instructions were easy to follow. They provided a video if you need help setting up the box. It's been 10 minutes and their still looking for treats inside the box! I'm going to be purchasing another one now. They absolutely love it! Thank you!

Easy enrichment for cats
This is my second time purchasing this for my cats. They absolutely love it and it keeps all three of them entertained. Unfortunately this box will not completely close like the first one did, but it still works! If this box would have been able to close completely I would have given it 5 stars :)

Very engaging puzzle-
At first glance I wasn’t sure about this since it’s cardboard, but it’s actually very sturdy and well made. Once assembled, it holds up great. My cat absolutely loves it-he’s used it every day for the past three days and stays completely engaged while working for his treats. Definitely watch the short 38-second assembly video. It comes flat, and once I watched the video, it was very easy to put together. For the price, this is an excellent enrichment toy and a great way to keep your cat mentally stimulated. Highly recommend.

It's a box - ok, not great
I really debating buying this because I had planned to use some of the many Amazon boxes we accumulate to make something like this for our Maine Coons myself. But, I saw that it had good reviews and figured it was worth a bit of $16 with tax to have the project done. It was shipped in a plastic mailing bag (by Amazon) so it was a bit bent upon arrival. I did not take off any of my rating stars for this because that was Amazon, not the vendor, but this is become very common, where Amazon ships things like a box of tea in a bag and it arrives smashed, so just know that your cat puzzle may come bent too. That said, this is well made for what it is, yes. It is as sturdy as cardboard is - until a 16lb Maine Coon or his younger brother land on it from atop their cat tree and then it starts to show some wear. Ok, this is not the vendor's fault either, my cats didn't read the instructions that they were only to insert paws through holes, not kamikaze-fall onto it from 4' above. Seriously though, it's a cardboard box with holes in so it starts to bend in spots and over more time I'm sure it will take on more damage. The folder cardboard inserts probably help maintain the structure longer though. As for its usability, my Maine Coons were super curious as I started putting the toy together (it wasn't hard to do) and it didn't take them long to figure out that they needed to get the treats I put inside of it out so that they could eat them. But, it's not easy, at least at first. I suppose that's the point, to keep them entertained trying but my guys have lots to do around our house and didn't feel like this was worth too much time after the initial fascination. I did notice one morning that Floki had turned it upside down which I thought was a good strategy to get the treats to fall out! He's the older of the two (3 years) and now and then I catch him with his paw in there trying for a treat but that doesn't last long. Jax, the 1 year old, is much less interested in this toy and he's the most curious of the two. Perhaps our Maine Coons are just spoiled and don't think they should have to work for their Rabbit Bite treats :) We have a number of cat toys around. The one they return to consistently over a long time (Floki started with it as a kitten) is Petstages Cat Tracks Cat Toy - where there are three circular levels and a ball in each and they push it around. I wake in the middle of the night hearing the sound of them playing with it. There are many versions/makes of this popular toy. They also really like the Catit Circuit Track. We got that a couple years ago and it continues to provide both of these guys with entertainment. They only toy I leave out all the time is the Cat Tracks. It's small and doesn't get in the way and the boys use it regularly. The other toys, including this cardboard box maze/puzzle, get put away in the closet and I bring one of them out now and then. That way it's something new and interesting instead of them seeing it daily and just ignoring it, which happens. We'll see if that tactic helps with their interest in this box. If you are looking for another fun option for your cat, this might be it. Or not. Just depends on your cats. I can see that it would be helpful as a slow-feeder if you have a cat that eats too much too quickly. My boys don't but they do like treats. BTW, we buy Vital Essentials Rabbit Bites and these Maine Coons love them. They are one ingredient, rabbit - freeze dried. It's a good thing!

The moment I put it down and placed her favourite treats in the hole suggested she took straight to it and worked out really quickly how to get them out her own way.

I purchased this for my 10-year-old cat. He is a manx and is very treat-oriented. I had started him off a couple of years earlier on one of those treat balls that you roll around, and then added the Senses Treat Maze (the round one on the ground with two options inside the dome). Each time I introduced one of these things, he first looked at me like, "You're kidding me, right?" But then I'd show him his treats were inside and help him out a bit. Then, even for an older cat, he caught on and eagerly looked forward to his treat-puzzle time. I began looking for some variety in puzzles to keep his brain challenged, so when I saw this Cat Amazing one, I thought I'd try it. The low-environmental impact of the cardboard also appealed to me. It comes in a very cute package that you easily set up with the instructions provided. It's very sturdy and durable, yet light. I've had it for 6 months and it still looks new. My cat took to this right away. It was easy to assemble and makes him work for his food, and he seems to be using more hunting instincts than with the other toys. He's sniffing, peeking through holes, and using strategy to get the treats out. What has also been great is that I've been able to swap the Temptations for the larger-sized dental food that the vet wants him to have as a therapeutic treat for his teeth. The larger pieces are a bit easier to navigate the inside maze, so he likes that it's not too overly hard. Since this was a hit with my older cat, I have ordered more and gifted them to two of my friends who have kittens. Big hit. Kept the one kitten occupied for well over an hour during our visit. She would have kept going had we kept adding more treats. If my cat was young again, I might have replaced his daily food dish for an interactive activity like this. I'd highly recommend this to anyone with a cat. The other puzzle my cat loves is the Trixie Brain Mover (blue/white). Every morning he eagerly waits for me to put his healthy treats in it (shhh - don't tell him they're healthy!). Then every evening, he gets treats in his Cat Amazing puzzle. We have a great routine. My only regret is that I didn't even know these things existed until he was 8-10 years old. Now we're making up for lost time.

This is a cut out cardboard box with partitions. The treats get caught under the partitions and the cat cannot access them. Both my cats lost interest very quickly. My cats do not play with it. And on that basis I would not recommend it.

Initially I just thought it was an expensive cardboard box that my cat paid no attention to but after a while she really got into digging the treats out and she looks so cute when she does. She loves this box! Five paws review!
