Friedrich 35 Pint Dehumidifier with 15' Drain Pump

Dead in the water after one summer. When trying to use it this summer (bought 2024) the unit is dead - turning on once, running for a little while then stops. No moisture is removed any longer.

Perfect for keeping basement dry

Had this Friedrich dehumidifier, worked for 10 years then failed, when I was shopping for a replacement, I became aware of a recall for my particular unit for potential fire hazard !! (Not sure when the recall was issued)... Friedrich was offering a $125 incentive due to recall to replace unit (with another Friedrich) so I replaced with another Friedrich... Same size unit... Here I am 3 years later and it no longer works... Unit only has a one year warranty. I would suggest buying something else. PS... It took 4 months to get the refund check and several calls to inquire about it.

Not this particular dehumidifier, but very similar burned down our house in the middle of the night about a year ago.. Not quite burned, but totally saturated everything with soot and smoke to the point that the house had to be completely stripped down to studs. Outside walls, roof and floor were the only items left and cleaning took over a month. Almost one year later and it is just started being rebuilt. Insurance pays but without depreciation that we ahve to come up with ourselves until construction is finished. Things happen of course but you would think Friedrich reach out to us and at least say sorry. NOTHING.
