Very sharp cutter. Love the carbide cutter. I recommend purchasing a negative rake cutter also for hard acrylic.

I love my easy wood tools, I have the rougher, detailer, finisher in mini sizes and just ordered the midi size parting tool. These make turning easy without needing a large array of HSS tools and a grinder to sharpen them. The handles are nicely done but I do sometimes get a tiny bit of vibration from them, nothing to be worried about though. This does tend to leave the best finish of the three tips so I like using it last before switching to sanding.

This little finishing tool is a pleasure to use..I have 2 inserts for it,1 for roughing and 1 for finishing..The insert is very easy to change over so your back to cutting in a minute instead of many minutes sharpening your gouges and such..You can make a final cut in the bore,face and the outside diameter in 1 continuous cut if the piece is small enough...IE..A 2 inch high bowl 5 inches in diameter...Thats a nice thing to do.. The insert is small 3/8" but,it leaves a nice radius at the bottom of bowls..Not to big nor to small..This tool will grab a bit if you are trying to hog out to much material..The trick to nice beefy cuts is to just focus on one part of the insert..Use just one point to cut,when 2 points come in contact IE..the tip and the side of the insert(about a quarter of the whole diameter) it will have a tendency grab.. There is a very small learning curve with this tool.So for beginners or people who are not great at sharpening,or just sick of it lol,This is tool you want.. I use it on bowls,platters,keepsake boxes and pens..It does a great job on all....
