Does this set hot or cool?

I use this glue for repairing broken finger nails, as I am a classical guitarist and solid nails are important. BennieV is right, using an accelerator on CA glue causes an exothermic chemical reaction, in other words, it produces heat. Depending on how much glue I apply to my nails, the amount of heat varies. I have yet to actually burn myself from using CA glue + accelerator, but sometimes it has been hot enough to produce discomfort for a second or two. For most uses, this level of heat is not a problem, but if you get it on your skin, it might be.

Does this only come in a spray?

This "Accelerator" typically comes in a spray bottle, you should also be able to purchase a refill bottle as well. If you wish to apply the accelerator in a different manner you can simply unscrew the bottle and use the (water consistency) liquid as you see fit (ie eye dropper or syringe etc) .

Anybody know the difference between this version and the upgraded 152 stuff I’m seeing on this site?

Don't know about the 152 stuff you mentioned, but if you are looking for something that makes super glue set immediately , like right now, just a little whiff of this Bob Smith stuff does the job. I've built many model planes with it and no telling how many other times I've used it when an instant set is needed.
