Quality made steel bit set
I have a set of drill bits from the "yellow" power tool company that in some sizes have snapped. In one case, The bit was in the hole, and just broke without warning as I drilled into a piece of fir... and no, I wasn't trying to drill into a knot. I did a search on best drill bits, and happened to find this set by Snappy. This bit set is fantastic. The bits themselves are made of high quality steel that has clearly been annealed for proper flexibility and strength. I recently used the 1/8th inch bit, and it flexed a few times as I adjusted the drill, however did not break. In the last few years, my experience with Chinese made bits in contrast has been abysmal. You just never know when they're going to break on you, and they tend to become dull after a short amount of time in use. The steel is frankly, cheap junk. Although I paid more for these "Snappy" bits than I'd pay for a different set at the local big box store, I don't expect to have to go back for seconds and thirds anytime soon. This is a high quality set of bits and driver tips. To anyone who uses their gear and appreciates quality, this is the set for you.

Top-of-the-Line Product
I am constantly using my cordless drill/driver for projects around the house & barn. I needed some 1/4" hex shank drill bits. After several sets of Chinese bits that either shattered (in soft wood) or spun loose in their hex shank, I found these Made in USA bits by Snappy. These are EXCELLENT! Just install the quick change adaptor in your drill then: Snap in a Drill Bit, Drill a Hole, Swap in a Screwdriver Bit, and Drive the Screw. The stop collars are for use with the countersink bits - to prevent overdrilling of the countersink - they work perfectly with the small head "decking" type screws I frequently use. When the drill bits eventually dull, you can replace them in the hex shank holder using the supplied Allen wrenches. Tired of Cheap Chinese Crap? Get this high quality USA made set! Even the case is well designed: it has a belt loop on the back if you want to carry it to the job -- and a metal grommet so it can be hung (in open position)on the shop wall -- and extra loops so you can add special bits. Three cheers for Snappy! Also, I ordered late in the day, and Peachtree Woodworking Supply shipped the next day.

A Premium Quick-Change Drilling/Driving "System"
Amazon does a poor job describing just what this is, and I'm going to try to explain it to you. I was interested in a basic countersink tool set. You can get that, separately, for about half the price, but when I read one of the reviews, a guy suggested considering this instead. I'm glad I did, because though expensive, it's actually a good value. So what is this "System"? It is a set of drilling and driving tools designed to speed up these tasks by relieving you of having to open and close a chuck, whether keyless or not, and instead pull out and push in replaceable tools. In summary, it is jump-start to a quick-change drilling system consisting of three main tool sets: a pilot/countersinkset, a fast-change drill set, and a driver bit set. It's a great start, and then you can build upon it. In detail, it includes: 1) A set of five adjustable countersink pilot drills for #4, #6, #8, #10, and #12 wood screws. Because it uses standard drill bits, it has the advantage that you can replace the drill bits if you break them or if they get dull, and the disadvantage that they are not tapered. 2) Two countersink stops (3/8" and 1/2") 3) A set of seven drill collets with high-speed bits in common sizes (1/16, 3/32, 1/8, 5/32, 3/16, 7/32, 1/4) that can be replaced with round bits of approximately the same size, whether cobalt, carbide, brad point, etc. While it is possible to buy hex-based bits like these as a set, it is very difficult to find individual replacement bits when they break or get dull; here, you simply replace the bit with a standard one. 4) 6 driver bits - 3 Phillips (#1, #2, #3) and 3 square head sizes 5) A quick-change chuck that you put into a conventional keyed or keyless chuck to allow you to use the hex-based quick change bits - both the ones included in this set, and any others that are this same standard size. 6) two Allen wrenches 7) a hex collar 8) A high-quality nylon pouch that has plenty of room to organize the tools to make them easy to find. It can be carried around on the job, or hung up on the shop wall conveniently. As a package, it is significantly less expensive than buying the components separately. I only wish they offered a super package that had a few more options, such as two or three quick-change chucks, because I have several drills, including my drill press, where I would like to use this system. The chuck is, of course, available separately, but not at the nice discount that a package like this offers (basically, free, when you add up athe price of a couple of the other packages). The quality, like the price, is quite high. Quality does not come cheap. If this was made in China, it would be half the price or less, and the quality would probably be less as well. As it is, it seems to be one of those rare tools still made in USA, and American-made tools claim a very steep price premium. If you're lucky, you get what you pay for, not always, but this time it seems like you do, because the tools are very sharp and seem very well made. If you are on a budget, you can probably get less expensive tools that will do the job, especially if you don't expect to use them for many projects. However, I expect these will be more economical in the long run, especially with the ability to replace the bits with economical ordinary drill bits when necessary. Again, sometime you get what you pay for. BOTTOM LINE Why four stars? It does everything it should. My reviews consider both quality and price/performance. It is definitely top quality, but it is also top price: that's what "premium" means, after all, and it says "premium" right on the card. Four stars means "I Like It". There's nothing wrong with it, and if you can afford it I would definitely recommend it, but quality does not come cheap; I think it is a bit expensive for what it is.

Nice drill set
I have used snappy products for years. They are well made and do a nice job drill/countersink for wood screws. I like the kit so you always have the correct size. The bits fit perfectly into my impact driver. This kit also includes drills with the hex drive adapters. Great set.

Great set
Wish I had this set years ago. Love the quick change mechanism. Everything is high quality, Made in USA. The bits could be better, but easily changed out to your preferred. Just make sure all pieces are tightly connected to avoid the connector spinning around the bits. Nice case. A bit pricey, but would buy again or recommend.

Nice sharp strong bits
These are probably the sharpest bits I have ever owned. I remember when they were new, grabbing the bit felt like it would cut my fingers. They are strong, but I broke the small ones. I probably pushed too hard and it was years after I purchased them. The Allen key that is used to set the bits is big, which is great. So many tools have tiny Allen keys that strip or bend. I would buy them again. I wish they came in a hard case. The bits fall out of the sleeves frequently unless you are gently with the case. I recently ordered replacement bits for the ones that broke. The prices is very reasonable. I hope to find they are of the same quality as the originals. I also purchased the large case sold by Snappy which looks like it will have the ability to properly secure the bits.

Great Product
Why didn't I buy these years ago? Stupidity is my best guess. They pay for themselves in time savings. Don't need to have a drill with a bit, a drill with a counter sink and my driver crowding my bench anymore. What a pleasure.

I love these quick change drill bit holders
I love these quick change drill bit holders, which I have used for several years now. We use them mostly to drill thousands of small 1/8" holes in aluminum and copper for rivet placement and wind up breaking quite a few drill bits in the process, so this makes it a good deal less frustrating when that happens. I would recommend using a deep 1/4 socket to hold the shaft steady while you loosen the tension ring. If you use a box end wrench it needs to be 6 point, which is hard to find. Do not use a standard 12 point or the open end of the wrench. Do not set it below the recess in the quick change shaft. A shallow socket will not reach deep enough up on the shaft far enough, and you will twist the shaft, as it is hollow to allow for the shaft of the drill bit inside it. If that happens it will no longer insert into your impact driver, and be useless. This has happened to me.
