I’ll be honest, I wasn't entirely sold on the idea of packing cubes, but I needed to save every possible inch of space for a recent trip. These Albatross cubes actually do what they say on the tin, though they aren't "magic." The Compression Feature The main draw here is the second zipper. You pack your clothes in, zip it shut normally, and then use the compression zip to squeeze the air out. It definitely flattens things down—I’d say I saved about 25-30% more room in my suitcase than if I had just folded everything normally. It’s great for getting that extra pair of trousers or a few more t-shirts in when you think the bag is full. Build & Quality They feel decent. The material is lightweight (which is good for baggage weight limits) but doesn't feel like it’s going to rip immediately. The zips are sturdy enough, though you do have to be careful not to catch the fabric in the compression zip if you've overstuffed them. I appreciate that they are made from recycled material too. Organization The 7-piece set gives you plenty of options. I used the different sizes to keep my clean clothes separate from my laundry, which made living out of a suitcase much less of a mess. It’s definitely easier to find a specific shirt when you just have to grab one cube instead of digging through the whole bag. Pro Tip for better compression: When you’re zipping the second "compression" zipper, don't just pull it. Slide your finger along the inside of the zip as you go to tuck the fabric in. It stops the material from getting caught in the teeth, which is usually how these things break. Also, rolling your t-shirts instead of folding them makes the cube compress much flatter and stops the bag from turning into a "sausage" shape. Verdict I’m not "overly keen" or obsessed with them, but they definitely made packing more efficient. If you’re trying to avoid paying for extra checked luggage and need to scrimp on space, these are a solid, practical choice.

These worked really well. They’re decent quality and there’s enough variety to cover a reasonable amount of clothing items. I’d have liked to have seen another of the larger packs in there but in reality, that wouldn’t leave room for much else in a carry on case. They do compress, predictably it’s not always easy to do so but that’s just the nature of packing.

Quality products and great prices

I've used a few different packing cubes over the years when travelling, which have all broken eventually. I got these about 6 months ago and they're amazing! The various sizes work for all needs, simple clean design which I love, and the compression works really well. Have been slightly nervous a couple of times pulling the compression zipper quite hard when overpacking clothes, but it's been fine! Would recommend as a sturdy, well designed travel item.
