United Ortho Short Air Cam Walker Fracture Boot, Large, Black

I had major forefoot reconstruction 2 months ago and was in a mid CAM boot until my surgeon told me I could be full weight-bearing and in regular shoes. Transition to street shoes was very painful for my foot without the support I had come to depend on from the CAM boot. As an interim support device, I got this short CAM boot and it is perfect for my current stage of recovery. I use it when I have to walk long distances for errands, when I walk for exercise, and when my foot is swollen and painful from walking on uneven or unpaved surfaces. I try not to wear it all the time but when I do, my foot gets a real chance to rest while still partially weight bearing. It is much lighter than the mid boot and a lot easier to maneuver around in. It gives you just as much ankle fixation and stability as the mid CAM boot height. Its lightness is its biggest advantage, plus I love the inflatable liner. Velcro on all the straps and liner are super sticky and durable. It’s like walking in a 360 pillow. Love this boot for this transition to regular street wear shoes.

I fractured my 5th metatarsal 2 weeks ago and it’s heeling very slowly as they usually do. My doctor suggested an orthopedic walking boot. I ordered a different brand the first time which didn’t arrive when it was supposed to and I needed it the following day. I found this one and ordered it because it had overnight delivery. I ordered it at night and it was here when I woke up the next morning. Unfortunately I was in such a hurry to order it I ordered the wrong size. I wear a women’s size 8 and meant to order the Small which I’m sure would have been perfect, but accidentally ordered the Large. Even though the boot was too long I tried it on because except for the length it’s fully adjustable. I wore it around the house for about an hour and for the rest of the day my foot felt better. The harder sole was what I needed as I had only been wearing slippers around the house. The little air pump made the boot snug but not but not tight - it felt really good. The only negative and it’s not much of one is that the boot is heavier than I expected, but considering how much better my foot felt after wearing it I’m not going to complain. The boot also comes with extra foam pads that can be used where and if you need them. I didn’t need them though. I reordered the boot in Small and am looking forward to using it. Update: I ordered the Small and it arrived yesterday. As I thought - it’s perfect.

I had a surgery on my Achilles and I was in a boot for over a month. I did not like the boot I had so I purchased this one and it’s much more comfortable. It’s easy to put on, relieves pain on the heel and easy to take off. My only issue is the pumping, you have to figure out a good way to pump because if you don’t, it will take forever to inflate. Besides that, product is comfortable and great!

I hope this helps somebody with a sore paw! This is the third boot I've tried for broken metatarsals, one from the insta-care and two from Amazon. I'm on about week 5 with that injury. This boot is the only one that allows me to walk around like an almost normal person for almost all day. It might be the healing time lined up with getting this boot but I just sort of found myself walking around much more with it on. The air support system really works and is part of the pain relief, for me. It came with some additional pads which is most welcome -- I added one to my heel. I'm a men's size 12 and there's maybe a centimeter of extra space at the toe. If you over-inflate it it scoots you a bit forward. Compared to the Aircast walking boot this is just much more comfortable and better made/sewn/designed. The Aircast boot has a top portion that is pre-inflated and sits on top of your foot. As you walk, that more or less slides around and doesn't do you any good. The top pad is also glued on the Aircast, so if yours is wrong (like mine) it's kinda pointless. The inner comfy air liner on this boot is superior. The Aircast is also built in such a way that if you scuffed it it would cease to be an air-anything. The inflated support is exposed in parts on the outer of the boot. This one is not. I'm not limping until I take it off and then the foot reminds me it's still fragile. I have the confidence to walk on the whole foot with this boot, not favoring a "side". A couple of notes: It's black and you might want to bedazzle yours, wear bright socks, something to make it visible enough so people make a little way for you at the grocery store. It fades in more than the light gray Aircast. Mine also arrived missing the top (branded) strap but I took a velcro strap off of the insta-care boot and that works fine. Their support is not the most helpful. To me, it's easily worth the cost. On a smooth polished floor you might still go for an unwanted ride, so get a cane too -- cheaper than another injury.

I bought this orthopedic boot for my husband while he was recovering from his cast, and it has been very comfortable for him. It provides great support and allows him to walk much more easily without pain. The fit is secure, and it has made his recovery much more manageable. We are very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

I can't emphasize enough how grateful I was to have this boot. I injured my foot and I was getting so depressed sitting around the house, and I really struggled with crutches (super clumsy). As soon as I felt comfortable enough to do so, I switched to this boot, and god what a difference it made. I was able to walk my dog and get around the house with no issues. It's comfortable and supportive and easy to clean. And it was easy to get on/off. I would love to give it five stars, but unfortunately the bladder stopped working after less than a month. It's still fully functional without the bladder but that extra padding provides a ton of support that is lost the second the bladder breaks. I've seen many other people cite the same issue in their reviews too. So it's excellent while it lasts, and I can still recommend it (it really did pull me out of a rut I was falling into). But you've been warned!

This boot fit better than the one the doctor gave me. Its got great straps.
