Dorman 742-251 Power Window Lift Motor Compatible with Select Models

Exactly as the factory motor. It came with new screws and fit perfectly. It came with several wire harnesses to accommodate different applications. I always have success with Dorman products.

I'm using this for my 1995 Ford Bronco. When I did the search I didn't notice that Amazon recommends both 742-250 and 742-251 for the drivers side window. I spent to hot days trying to make it work, with my arm shoved into a small opening in the door up to the elbow. A very frustrating situation. Then I set the new motor down next to the old. That's when I realized I had the passenger side motor (they are different). I went back did the search again and found the 742-251 and ordered it. In both case they got the motor to me one day. So I can't fault them on that. And needless to say the new motor went in, in about ten minutes. Crazy, but very happy, eventually. I called Amazon customer service, not about the return, that's easy with Amazon. I called them to alert them about the situation with the part numbers and their search algorithms. They say they'll do something about it... BUT, be careful. And if your part doesn't seem to fit. Recheck your search. The first time I was sure I'd gotten it right only to find I had bad info. The motor itself works very well now that it's installed. Quiet and smooth. They include new wiring. I assume that's incase you damage a connector getting the old motor out. I would buy again. But I'd be more careful. And if things seemed wrong I'd check sooner. Good Luck!

Well, when I bought the motor for the driver's door of my Bronco I also got this one for my passenger's door or tailgate, whichever failed first. It ended up being the Tailgate. Installing it was a pain because the tailgate can be hard to work on if you don't remove the glass (I wasn't home and had nowhere to place the glass), and I actually had to cut part of the nylon webbing on the head of the motor in order to make it fit, which I might or not have avoided if I flipped it. Only 2 out of the 3 bolts lined up, the 3rd one would require some drilling, but it's doable. I added some pictures of the cuts as a guide for any other Bronco owners, so far it's been 7 months and I haven't had any problems with this. I also had to splice and join the connector for a cleaner install. After all was said and done I once again have a working tailgate glass, but this motor is a little smaller and less powerful than the OEM part, just don't fool too much with it and it will last, of course, since you already got in there, take the time to lube all the moving parts of the mechanism, and the rubber in the weather stripping. This would get 5 stars except after I installed this new passenger side window motor...(not so easy a task in my 88’ Ford F250 ie removing the door panels and vapor shield, then speakers so as to reach back and down in there, drilling the two 1/2” holes in the inside steel door panels (factory “dimpled”) so to access all 3 mounting screws yada, yada, yada)...up was down and down was up on the switches ...I have to say thx to the Dorman tech line though as being that I am not too learned at electrics they confirmed all I had to do was (using a small blade screwdriver or something) was “unclip” and reverse the black and red wires at one end of one of the 3 extra supplied “pigtails” and snap it in between the new window motor lead (which was wired wrong/in reverse) and of course the truck “side/end thus reversing the polarity....this saved me the time and cost of taking it out and returning it or having it fixed by local auto electric shops (3) that estimated up to 2 hrs diagnostics and would need my truck all day (note: The door panels were still off, it all was right there neat and hanging and easy access, but they would give me a ride home after I dropped it off lol)...the fix took me about 5 to 10 minutes

my only complaint is minor since i was doing both front door window motors at the same time, the motors were labeled on the part for the wrong side but i do think the boxes were marked properly. they work great, very fast and they fit the factory regulator assembly nice, you may have to bump the motors with 12 v to spin the gear so it lines up to your regulator bolt holes. if you get the regulator and motor assembly you wont have to worry about that. connecting the electric was easy with the premade connections provided with the motor. i am very happy but it did bother me a bit that the part said RH and it was bolted to the drivers door window regulator. I did them one door at a time so i did not get them mixed up i even made the owner of the truck look so i was not crazy. but since the boxes were correct if you were only ordering one you should get what you need.

It works, was relatively easy to install. Don't care for the replacement screws just having to be borred into plactic. Would have rather had nice thread's in metal like the original. Plastic break's or strips out eventually. But good enough if you want to roll down your window for a year or 2. Bought before one burned out after about a year and a half. Another one came loose from the plactic threads. But if you're not keeping your car forever or don't mind replacing them after a while they do the job.

Plug and play in a bronco. My original motor stop working because the inside turned into mush. I could have fixed it but I decided it was easier to try this one as it was cheap. This is the same motor sold by Bronco Graveyard and other suppliers. Positives - strong Just 2 negatives - the screws are threaded into plastic housing so before you install the motor, go ahead and thread it once while outside to cut the threads - the wire could have been just 1 inch longer. It was barely enough. I did not have to cut or splice anything though so thats a plus.

This item will not work as is in a 1991 Ford F150 pickup. The mounting holes do not line up with the existing holes. It could be drilled to work but who wants to do all of that extra work?

One fastener hole didn’t line up on each door motor. Was still able to force it together although it isn’t a perfect fit. Otherwise very happy with the performance!

No fue nada complicado la instalacion solo el mismo comentario de que no empata 100% en los 3 orificios solo quedan 2 pero se sotiene muy bien y en cuanto al funcionamiento no he tenido ningun problema. el equipo funciona muy bien.

Hasta ahorita está funcionando perfectamente. Se instaló fácilmente en 94 Ford Explorer. Le doy 4 estrellas. Espero me dure un buen tiempo, entonces le podría dar otra más.
