AIFINI Ear Wax Removal Tool, HD Ear Cleaner Otoscope Camera with Light

I seldom write reviews unless I think a product is worthy of praise, or should be avoided. I read the reviews for the myriad of Chinese ear cleaner cameras, across the usual too-cheap-to-be-real to the exact same product at multiples of price. People have trouble with the hardware—the little silicon tips sliding off in their ear canal, the terrible chinglish software which won’t connect, or then wants you to approve connections that seem suspicious, and the electronic unreliability. This product seemed not to have any of those issues, so I decided to give it a try. I am a geezer who only has one functioning ear due to a birth defect, and has struggled with hearing life-long, with multiple infections and troubles with the good ear, culminating with age-related hearing loss in the past decade. I am also a physician with a research background who understands the anatomy and physiology of the ear, as well as the mechanics of dealing with physical problems, although not an ear doctor. Over the past few months I thought my hearing was getting worse, despite a hearing aid. So I decided to get a better look, and find a way to fix it before going to an otologist and spending silly sums for a new hearing device. This little gadget performed well for me. It charged up easily and quickly, and pairing it with the app across Wi-Fi went quickly and smoothly. It did not ask for extraneous permissions on iOS, and actually worked beautifully on a 12.9” iPad, giving clear imaging that surprised me. NOTE: it will require access to your camera/photos and Wi-Fi, because it connects by Wi-Fi rather than Bluetooth, and is a camera device. But it should not ask for other permissions. I discovered a huge tangled chunk of cerumin—that yellow wax our ear canals produce for protection, along with a couple of tiny beard hairs and dead skin cells defiantly blocking my eardrum. It actually resembled a fetal alien from a Ridley Scott Sci-Fi! The device along was not enough to dislodge and remove it, but fortunately, I had also ordered Debrox, the ear drops that help to soften and remove such an obstruction. And also the cleanright kit to use warm water and peroxide to soften the brick of ear gunk and flush it out. Success! I used the debrox to soften it, with several applications, and tried again with the little otoscope. Wouldn’t budge, and was becoming painful, with a little bit of blood seeping from the tenderest inner part of the canal. So I decided to soften it further and try flushing it out with the cleanright kit, warm water with diluted peroxide. After three bottles full, and more applications of debrox (another gentle peroxide agent to loosen and dissolve the dried chunk), it began to come out, in tiny bits of wax floating in the sink before me! Without all the pain. A couple more rounds of this procedure got 95% of it out, and my hearing was back to (geezerly) normal! Enough to sing along joyfully to Stevie Nicks! I could see my eardrum finally with the tiny camera. So, folks, be gentle on your ears, they are tiny delicate exquisite living instruments. But use the best non-doctor technology to keep them functioning well. Carbamide peroxide ear drops. Gentle ear flushing with diluted H2O2 in warm water, and this little gadget to observe the results. If your ear was impacted as much as mine was, this device alone will not fix it without traumatizing your ear canal, and possibly the delicate and sensitive drum. But if you want to save yourself a trip to the doctor, endless waiting in agony, and feel happy to have solved the problem yourself, give my approach a try. What would be a nice addition to this system: the ability to record or take photos within the app with a tap on the screen, to see over time the progress. Taking screenshots while one’s hands are delicately probing the ear is just not workable.

Awesome! We got this because we lost our ear pick in a move. It works well, I imagine you could take it with you anywhere, it has no issues with pain, and the camera quality is good! My husband and I have different ear wax types. If you have the liquidy-honey-like ear wax, I found it nice just to make sure I got it all out, but we are pretty safe when using regular pics. My husband has the dry ear wax type, and it helps prevent him from accidentally just pushing it farther back in his ear which could compact it. You can also see where your ear drum is which prevents you from accidentally going too far and causing permanent damage. If you have the dry ear wax, then I think this is something you should absolutely purchase, since it will allow you to clean your ears without accidentally compacting the wax.

The device gives a good look into the ear, the camera quality show you exactly what you need to see. Easy to use and connect to the app. Would recommend!

This tool is so awesome! It is very affordable. It's not painful at all. It's very durable and accurate. It comes with many different ways to clean out your wax from your ear. Very easy to carry around or take with you. Would definitely buy again.

putting the piece together wasn't that hard, setting up on the app was a bit weird but was still able to set it up, just follow the steps and your good to go. Putting this product in my ear made me see a lot of stuff in my ear, your ears may look clean but if you use this thing and go deep inside of your ears and see if it's actually clean or dirty and you'll be surprised yourself. definitely recommended this item.

This ear wax removal tool works okay, but it wasn’t quite as impressive as I expected. The kit comes with several attachments and the concept is really useful for checking and cleaning your ears more carefully than using cotton swabs. The camera is a neat feature and it’s interesting to actually see inside your ear while using it. That said, the overall performance is a bit hit or miss. The camera quality is decent but not super clear, and it can be a little tricky to maneuver the tool comfortably while looking at the screen. It’s not a bad product and it does work with some patience, but it feels more like a basic gadget than a high-quality tool. With a slightly better camera, it would be much better.

I purchased this specifically because one of my children seemed to have a build up in their ears and I wanted to take a look at what was really going on in her ear. Camera: Surprisingly good considering the cost. I was very happy and got exactly what I needed out of you. You do have to play around with the positioning and remember that you may be seeing it backwards to how it is in the ear, so remember that when actually moving it around. There is a light on the tip that also helps see more effectively Extra tips/cleaning tools: I love these as there are many different options depending on what kind of wax you need help with (who knew!). I am not sure if I read the description wrong but I originally thought you could use the tips with the camera but that is not the case. Still, they are very small and can be helpful once you get a good understanding of where the wax is from the camera. Just be careful you don't go in too far! That all being said you can use the blue tip to scrape wax as well, which is what works while the camera is on. It comes with many replacements of those as well, but depending on the wax type, it's easy to clean and not go through the extras quickly at all. Connection/Setup: It's fairly easy to set this up. You'll download an app and connect your WiFi to this device, then open the app. At that point, connect to the products unique network (that you already connected to your device) in the app and boom- the picture is on! It really is very simple and takes just a moment once the app is downloaded- it's very self explanatory. Battery: I have probably never given it a full charge but it has worked multiple times for us. When it did start to lose battery, a very quick charge got us working again. Ease of use: Very easy to use on yourself or someone else, although I do prefer to have something to hold or position my phone so that I don't have to hold it with my hands. Overall I'd definitely buy this again and have experienced no concerns. For standard at home use, this camera and tool should be more than enough!

I'm prone to ear infections, I have been since I was little. I've taken to cleaning my ears with peroxide when I feel slight pain, and it seems to help. But one day, I felt like there was some wax in my ear I couldn't flush out, and I know better than to go digging in there blind with a cotton swab. My coworker suggested this and I immediately went home and bought it. The moment it arrived, I tore it open and got to work. Here are my thoughts: First of all, I love all the different attachment options, but I honestly find myself just using the standard silicon scoop one. It works the best for me so far. I'm finding my ear canal to be pretty sensitive to scraping, so I avoid the harder metal pieces for that reason. Second, I'm honestly not a fan of the way it connects to the app. This is a personal thing, but I enjoy watching YouTube while I do self care stuff just to keep my mind busy. If I'm connected to the wifi for the ear camera, my phone tries to get an internet signal from it. It's not an internet source for more than streaming the camera, so YouTube stops functioning. The service in my house is not too great, so I can't rely on data either. So it's a bit inconvenient for me and I find myself rushing through the process so I can get back to watching YouTube. Yeah yeah, I know it's a personal problem lol but that's the only complaint I have! Third, I think there is a bit of a learning curve. Took me a while to figure out how to turn it the way I needed. There's a button to change which ear you're in. For me, for whatever reason, I can't rely on that setting. Is it me with a silly brain, is it the device, is it the connection? I have no idea, but I just try it out and if it feels backwards to me I'll switch what ear it thinks I'm working on. I have no real advice besides trial and error lol I've enjoyed this so far, I was able to get rid of that nasty wax I knew was hiding in there, and it's helped me take a peak at what's going on when I feel a bit of pain like an infection starting. I'll learn more about what certain things look like so I can have a better idea of what's going on, but so far it's been a wonderful tool to have!
