Overall great product
These DO have the linseed oil mess/smell that others have mentioned, but they're OIL pastels so maybe keep them in the fridge if you live in a hot climate. Be prepared to get some oil on your fingers anyway, a paper towel was necessary for me to not get the paper all oily from touching it. For the swatch sheet, I smudged each upwards with my finger and left it heavy on the bottom. In the test doodle I went pretty heavy on the mimikyu costume, particularly the tail. Zero complaints about layering the colors, how well they mix together on the paper (I used Paul Rubens oil pastel paper as well) or the amount of pigment present. A light hand and thin layers built up work well with these and they're soft enough to NEED a light hand. The darker colors seemed to be less oily than the mid and light tones, so the texture was a little different for those and they needed a little more pressure, which you can see in my swatch sheet.

Wonderful, truly soft, oil pastels
These are wonderful, soft and easy to apply impasto directly to the paper, lovely colors, strongly pigmented, my new favorites. They are oily but that is what makes them so nice to work with, though the sticks are a bit more prone to breakage. I wouldn't hand these out as a first oil pastel to children but for adult artists - "Chef's Kiss"

Wide set of colors, but oily with a weird smell
Ok, ok, ok. Just hear me out. This is a GREAT set if you're first breaking in to oil pastels and you want a wide array of colors that blend well. They're pretty soft and the set of colors is surprisingly pigmented. They take well to a variety of surfaces and are a good buy. That being said, when I first opened this set, oh boy was I hit with a weird smell. By weird, I mean think of the most pungent box of crayons you could find - and leave them out on a playground in a hot day in the middle of the summer. If you're not in a well ventilated room beware, it's pretty irritating after a while. That being said, the box it comes in contains the smell pretty well as long as you keep the foam. Additionally, the pastels have an incredibly oily texture that seems to permeate through the wrapping, making each pastel very slippery and sometimes challenging to grip. That being said they're a dream to work with for this price point compared to some other more expensive brands.

Very vivid. Buttery and blend well. Love the colors. Definitely worth the money.

Great oil pastels
I was skeptical when I bought these. I've been trying to find some oil pastels that are as nice as Sennilier, but affordable. These are the closest to Sennilier that I've found. None of the hype I read was false. These are the softest, smoothest oil pastels I've found. They're terrific! I'm going to buy the full set next time I buy. I highly recommend.

quality varies by color
some colors are lovely and silky while others are sticky and gross. in the picture the colors with the star in the upper right corner of the swatch are really nice to work with.

Good quality oil pastels that won’t break the bank!
Wow wow wow. These oil pastels are super buttery and easy to use and blend. I’m no pro but these are amazing for what I wanted to do. They do smear easily but I like that for blending purposes. For the price, I’d say these are a steal.

Oily and messy, bright colours, I love working these with a palette knife. No idea about the colour permanence. Wish they did boxes of individual colours but cannot find any way of contacting the company or customer services to find out.

this was my first time using oil pastels. I found them relatively easy to use. they are soft, have a good colour range and they can layer and blend. I found that quite a few of the pastels were very greasy though, but they can be wiped so it's not so unpleasant to use. some minor things about the packaging: the colour names were very small and hard to find on the pastel, and couple of them had the name on the other side. the swatch paper had some typos.

These oil pastels were as creamy and blendable as promised. I like how the set comes with a swatch sheet. Pros - The pastels blended nicely, with either my finger, a cotton bud or hard blending tool - They were well packaged and came promptly from the seller - They will make a great tool for creating art Cons - The pastel names and numbers are very small and in some instances the colour names didn't match the swatch sheet - The pastel names and numbers are right down the end where you use them, so you would need to make sure that as the pastel gets used up you slide the casing down and rip off the end of the paper casing, otherwise you will lose the number and name. - A few of the pastels were extremely greasy on the outside and had to be wiped off before using Overall they were good value for money, but they weren't as good quality as many of the You Tuber reviewers who had affiliate links that link with this specific product. They will make a great beginner set but I am not sure if they are artist quality.
