Great unit of the price
Great unit. The audio is crisp, easy to use, and the remote helps a lot. If the battery goes down in remote, the unit can be adjusted on the panel but I need to put my readers on to see the buttons. Other than small print, the unit works good in my classic car. Can't beat the price either.

Nice replacement for single din factory radio
One day my 05 Elantra's radio wouldn't even power up. After making sure it wasn't a fuse and there was power at the connector, I concluded the radio was dead.Didn't want to invest too much and didn't want to have to deal with a security code on a used factory unit. This unit was about what a used factory CD unit costs but with blue tooth, USB and aux in. Used my factory mounting brackets since the plastic dash opening was too big for the provided sleeve. Just had to use an existing set of holes on the unit and dig thru my extra hardware pail and finding short screws to fit. Get one of those harness adapters to make your life easier. Sounds great, paired my phone quickly. Registered my unit on the BOSS site and somebody even emailed me back confirming!

Installed into a Dodge Dakota. Wouldn't turn off with ignition issue, now fixed. Would recommend. Like the blue tooth....
Bought and received in less than three days. I installed this in my 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT. The truck's aftermarket radio died so I reused the frame and harness adapter. Install is pretty straight forward. Match wire color to wire color for the radio harness to the aftermarket radio harness adapter. The sound in good (and may be better than it was before with the old JVC). The bluetooth works well and the quality is good. Haven't had issues with the bluetooth like other reviews. After wiring to the harness I noticed that the radio didn't turn off when the ignition was off. I double checked that I had the "constant" power (yellow wire, provides constant power so setting aren't lost) and the "ignition" power (red wire, provides power when the ignition is on) were correct, they were. I was pretty frustrated because the radio should turn completely off when the ignition was off. Spent probably too much time playing around with it and searching the internet to figure out what was wrong. So I finally gave up and decided it would never completely turn off. With the radio in the power off position (radio clock is still on dimly) I removed the fuse for the radio and checked the power draw from the fuse socket with a voltmeter. I couldn't readily discern a power draw and decided that it wouldn't kill my battery (probably couldn't get a reading because my voltmeter is really crappy). Besides, if I went camping or something and didn't want the chance of it killing my battery I could just remove the fuse to kill it completely. Fast forward about a week, and the radio has decided to turn off when the ignition is off. Really weird because I didn't do anything to fix it. Maybe a relay was acting up? No idea but it functions correctly now. One more thing. Really bright screen and buttons. Very nice during the day but if you're driving a dark moonless night it gets really annoying. Like really annoying (hence the 4 stars). Anyone know how to wire the "dimmer" power (orange wire) into a radio that isn't equipped to receive it? Anyway, good radio for the price. Would recommend it . *UPDATE* The issue with the radio being on continually has returned...

A good buy for the $
I purchased this radio for a 1996 Toyota Tacoma. It fit perfectly. The wires were color coded and easy to hook up. The CD player dont skip even on rough roads. My truck is off road so that is saying something. I recommend this unit to anyone wanting an inexpensive radio that sounds pretty good.

The install was pretty easy and I have had it for about a ...
I bought this unit to replace the stock radio and CD player unit in my 2006 Hyundai Elantra. I was looking specifically for the ability to stream music via Bluetooth to the unit but didn't have the need for anything expensive. The install was pretty easy and I have had it for about a month now. Everything works well and the Bluetooth strain is great. Two things I will mention: 1) it does have a built in microphone so that you can talk/listen through the unit. I haven't had any issue being able to hear what the color is saying but it does tend to pick up a lot of road noise and is usually difficult for whoever is calling to hear me very well. My car is in the quietest ride but I would say for the most part you won't ever use this feature. If you are looking for a hands-free option for phone calls, I would probably go with a different unit that has a better microphone and noise reduction. 2) A previous reviewer mentioned something about the screen brightness. I almost didn't buy this unit because of their comments. I have had no issue at all reading the display even on really sunny days. If I am wearing my polarized sunglasses, that does affect my ability to see the display. Bottom line, it would be hard to beat this unit for the price. If you absolutely must make hands-free phone calls, you might look somewhere else but if you need to upgrade a CD player and would like the Bluetooth streaming option, this is the unit for you.

HORRIBLE STEREO! STAY AWAY!
Okay. I wanted to use this for a while before reviewing. Here goes. First thing I noticed is that the clock does not keep time at all. I set the clock and withing a day it was 2 hours off. I really didn't care because there is a clock in the car anyway. Next is the manual station searching. This unit is HORRIBLE when scanning. It skips most stations that come in perfectly clear. To manually tune the stations you have to hold the tune up or down button in for a few seconds first and then you can move the tuner up or down one frequency at a time. Don't dwell any longer than a couple seconds on a station though or you have to hold the button down again to go back to manual tuning. Next is the bluetooth. It connects perfectly fine to my phone. The issue is that after a while the entire radio locks up and the only way to reset it is to turn off the car, Not a single button on the stereo works to do anything. I literally have to turn off the bluetooth on any phone in the car or this will cause the radio to lock up. So much for using bluetooth! I'm not done. Next thing that happened was this. It was a bit warm one day and the internal temp in my car was probably 100+. I get that you should wait to use electronics in extreme temps but car stereos are usually made well enough to handle them pretty well. The issue i had though was not electronic. I had a cable plugged into the aux input on the stereo. When I went to unplug it, part of the faceplate along with the auxiliary jack itself came off with the plug when I pulled it out! Next are the buttons. Sometimes when you press them you get an audible beep, but not always, it is just random. The last thing (so far) is the tuning capability to lock on the stereo signal is horrible. You can hear the station switching back and forth between stereo and mono on stations that are very easy to pick up. I wouldn't recommend this stereo to my worst enemy! Stay AWAY!

3.5 stars; CD issues
I purchased this car stereo July of 2023 so I’ve had it over 2 years. It is a good item for the price. I have it pair with four good JVC speakers. It has decent sound, nothing overly impressive. The only problem I have encountered is something that was mentioned in another review; if you play CD’s the unit has errors with basic functions so it is not worth the battle. I only use it for the radio and Bluetooth, which work fine. 3.5 stars.
